Some parents in Montgomery County, Md. say they have a religious right to ensure their children aren't exposed to LGBTQ books in the classroom.

Some parents, including Muslims and Orthodox Christians, objected on religious grounds under the Constitution's First Amendment, saying their children should be able to opt out of any exposure to the content.

Religion. The first freedom of the First Amendment.

Freedom, baby!

"Liberty and justice for all."

I will always question what the "right amount" of sex education should be, especially in elementary school. And I'm with Justices Alito and Kavanaugh when they expressed disbelief that the school board found it too difficult to provide an opt-out. That shows me the district doesn't want to conform. Which is all the parents are asking the court to rule on.

I think the larger component that should be in the decision is to affirm the rights of the parents to know what is being taught in every school, at every grade. This gets drawn out and almost every state has had to rule on this. The results have always been the same. The parents win because (especially) if the student is under the age of 18, it's the parents' responsibility to raise them contrary to the views of the teachers' union and some districts. There is no doubt in my mind the parents will always win this decision. And some districts are willing to spend the money (unless someone is funding the move) to try to change the constitution for their district.

Sex education is the #1 way to prevent unwanted pregnancies. So it's amazing (or typical) the GOP is against it? This is where intelligence fails progress. Keeping people stupid never works in any way - which is why the GOP is always 100% for ignorance.

Perfect answer since it hadn't read any of your post! Also keeping it from digressing to a nonrelative ambush that doesn't mean anything relative to the thread.

I cited your piece again. Just to make it easy.

I'd say you're the one that went down in flames. You don't even bother to read the basic post to the thread.

You don't have to apologize for helping your butt buddy, OD.
