Kristi Noem’s Bag, With Security Badge and $3,000, Is Stolen
The homeland security secretary was dining at a Washington, D.C., restaurant. She also lost her passport and keys.

The incompetence of the Trump administration is almost comical.

$3000 in cash? Who carries cash - much less THAT much? Was she planning on making a drug buy?

  2. by Curt_Anderson on April 21, 2025 5:50 pm
My wife and I had similar thoughts. Well, we couldn't think of non-criminal reason to carrying $3000. Taking a bribe, making a bribe, some sort of payoff, a drug deal, all possibilities; but we couldn't think of any legitimate reason to be carrying around that amount of cash.

  3. by Ponderer on April 21, 2025 7:06 pm

    A. She carries it all in twenties to hand out to homeless people.

    B. She never had any cash and is padding the insurance claim.

I'm a go with B. This is a Full-MAGA, Trump-administration Republican we are talking about.

  4. by oldedude on April 21, 2025 7:15 pm
My wife carries cash. Uses a card the fewest times she can in a year.

curt- my question is; WTF don't you get to anything close to what you always bitch about? The corruption (obviously you don't have any legal proof) which the pedojoe administration was shown to have (laundering money for the Russians), (Diamond from the Chinese that was "misplaced" in a chinese owned jewelry shop), et.al.

You're always chickenshitting this administration with stupid shit. Honestly, if you, or po, or donna can dig up anything, let us know. Otherwise, please don't waste our time. princess isn't counted in that, because it can't cite a source more than 1% of the time.

  5. by Curt_Anderson on April 21, 2025 7:50 pm
    OD,
Would you be OK if your wife lost her security badge, passport, keys and $3000 in cash? My first question to my wife would be "why the hell are you carrying around your security badge, passport, keys and $3000 in cash?" And my wife is not in charge of anybody else's security.

Also I didn't bring up "legal proof", you did. My OP was how this is another example of the incompetence of the Trump administration.

  6. by oldedude on April 21, 2025 8:08 pm
Okay. Would my wife be carrying around $3K? no. If she was, we were getting out of country fast. AND she would have told me about it, and I'd be carrying part of that. Her "security badge? I have the only one. And if that were to be true, we would call up her security office and have it blacked out. It's simple. They can kill a badge in a matter of seconds. The credit cards are more of a pain in the ass. And BTW, even if I have the DNI's (Director of National Intelligence's) badge, I can't get into anyone else's records. Ahhhh.... little grasshopper, you know so little how security is done. or politics.

About the money. We're a family that has a military retirement, an 80% VA disability, and a state pension. These are not big money makers. If I was earning $200K+/yr, maybe. You're so self-centered that you actually believe that no one makes less than you and more than you. Please enter into the real world.

And yes. I talk about "legal" facts a lot. Because your fictional reality is not admissible in court. There's a huge difference. I tend to think about what I have for a legal analysis. In Court. Why? because it's helped me in so many different ways.

You're always chickenshitting this administration with stupid shit.

I have thought the same thing. Or, IMO, even worse, I EFFINbegged po to give examples of what Trump does that po objects to...

Nuthin. And, I tossed a softball.

Interestingly it's you and pb who have detailed our specific objections to the actions of Trump and the gang.

Is it that the derangement of Curt's Holy Trinity and po's metaphorical Rachel is so emotional that no genuine reporting of fact is happening?

It's frustrating... in a kneeslapping way.

I think Pondy's right. I should have been more cynical in my response. 🤔

Of course OD would still be carrying cash. Because he doesn't want Big Brother tracking him thru his credit cards when civilization collapses - never realizing his phone is tracking him everywhere he goes... 😎

Indy, maybe your suggestion of a drug deal was right. Kristi Noem said it herself, "Meth, we're in it". See link.

That's funny. Classic example of an ad agency talking the client into something stupid because they couldn't come up with any good ideas. Guaranteed it started out as a joke in a brainstorming session and then they figured they could talk South Dakota into it... and they did.

RE: Indy's mention of civilisation's collapse.

"Through this research, the team learned that the fall of society would hit near the midpoint of the 21st century. And yes, in case you'd forgotten, that's the century we're currently in the middle of.

In fact, there's apparently less than two decades to go until the collapse. Around 17 years, to be precise, as the scientists predicted the collapse would come in 2040.

I think it shows vividly that our nation's capital is a septic of crime under the dim leadership. Carjackings, muggings, robberies, and homicides are driving all the decent people out.

    (Nov 14, 2024)

Washington DC, once infamous as the murder capital of the United States, is suffering a relapse as crime soars.

As at Thursday, according to Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) data, violent crimes were up 39 per cent from the same period in 2022, with homicides alone up 28 per cent in 2023 to reach 190.

It is not uncommon to hear gunshots, as well as police and ambulance sirens, piercing the night. Violent crimes have spread across the city to the so-called “good” neighbourhoods, and residents increasingly refrain from going out at night and avoid certain streets.

Residents and business owners in the capital’s small Chinatown are alarmed, saying people arrested by the police are seen back committing street crime within days.

He has nothing to do with the politics of DC. Or the Metro PD. The mayors have been dims since 1961.

That's such a basic thing you're an epic fail at.

  20. by Indy! on April 24, 2025 8:05 am

So the mayor is out there patrolling the streets of DC? Or a bunch of rightwing cops like in every other city in America?

No concept of the real world. 😂

The difference is I was joking and you weren't. You're always blaming the "dim" (can't even spell) governors for everything wrong in whatever state we're talking about.

Second suspect arrested in theft of DHS chief Kristi Noem's purse

It's rather convenient that the suspects are both undocumented immigrants. If they recover Noem's purse or any of its contents, the arrests might seem credible.

Law enforcement authorities on Sunday arrested a second individual in South Florida connected to the theft of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

“This second offender is implicated in a pattern of thefts and robberies with the primary defendant who is accused of the robbery of the Secretary. He was taken into custody earlier today with critical assistance from the Miami Beach, Florida police department and immigration and customs enforcement,” a Secret Service spokesperson said.

The second suspect, according to U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin, is also in the country illegally.

NBC News confirmed the name of that first suspect involved in the case, Mario E. Bustamante Leiva, a 49-year-old Chilean national.

Martin told NBC News that Bustamante Leiva, who was arrested Saturday, is also in the country illegally.

On Sunday, authorities announced they had arrested an undocumented immigrant in Washington in connection with an alleged crime against an unlikely victim: Noem, herself. A second suspect was arrested in Florida and is being held on an immigration detainer as charges are finalized, the Secret Service announced Sunday evening.

D.C. police said a suspect in multiple robberies was taken into custody at a motel on Georgia Avenue in Northwest Washington and could face charges for the theft of Noem’s purse at a local restaurant on April 20. The bag included her driver’s license, medication, keys, checks, Department of Homeland Security badge, passport and $3,000 in cash.

Authorities said they had charged Mario Bustamante Leiva, 49, with two counts of robbery in unrelated incidents that took place in recent weeks. One happened just blocks from the Capital Burger restaurant on Seventh Street NW where Noem reported her purse was stolen while she was dining with her family, police said.

Norm, like all cabinet members, gets Secret Service protection. If somebody can slip her purse from under her seat, somebody can slip a bomb under her seat.
