We each made our own. They're both double sided, 11" x 14" on large paint sticks. Each side of both signs display Trump's extra (hehehe) orange mug and the following captions...

Mine:

FASCIST
ASSHOLE
------------
DOMESTIC
ENEMY
OF THE
CONSTITUTION

Donna's:

EVIL
INCARNATE
------------
NO REAL
CHRISTIAN
WOULD SUPPORT
THIS MONSTER

And I really gotta commend Donna on her fabulous work on the EVIL INCARNTE side of hers. She found a great shot in Google images of his scowling face surrounded in flames that she printed out for it, surrounded by her colorful, exquisite even hand drawn text as indicated above.

We'll keep on doing this until we end up in El Salvador or something.

    Here's a suggestion:

    HOW LONG UNTIL
    THIS SIGN
    GETS ME ARRESTED?

  3. by ROB3RT on April 18, 2025 9:11 pm

    Or....

    HOW LONG UNTIL
    THIS SIGN
    GETS ME DEPORTED?

  4. by ROB3RT on April 18, 2025 9:16 pm

Or, for those who read books....

    IT CAN
    HAPPEN HERE.

Those are all excellent, Rob3rt! You should join us tomorrow! There's sure to be a protest somewhere in your town. Trump is becoming universally hated.

    I really like:

    HOW LONG
    BEFORE THIS
    SIGN GETS ME
    ARRESTED?

  7. by HatetheSwamp on April 19, 2025 3:31 am

    ARRESTED? DEPORTED?

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha ha!

You have no idea how heartily we are laughing at you. Keehee hoo ha!

When "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" string-pullers were engineering the arrival of 10,000,000+ illegals over an open border and sneering that the highest inflation rate since the Shah ran Iran, we joked about y'nes believing that, behind the scenes, the Flatulent Fool could run circles around his staff, and we laughed and laughed and laughed.

And, GUTFELD!'s ratings exploded on the power of his sophomoric, third-rate humor.

Now, we're laughing at your impotent attempts to convince the world that you are endangered in a fascist state!

    Heehee hoohoo ha, ahhhhhhhh.

Bottom line: The differences between the left and the right amaze ole pb!

Trump'll be playing golf, weather permitting. And, checking that on the spelling in his next few dozen EOs...

... oh, and along with the MAGAs... and the moderate and independent common sense voters who are paying attention,... laughing at you.

You are sooooooo impotently earnest, baha.

  8. by Ponderer on April 19, 2025 6:30 am

That was a neat post, Curt.

Trump has always reminded me of some leader characters in some of Kurt Vonnegut's work. And he even predicted a billionaire like Musk with his own rocket ship blasting into space. Isn't it wild how fiction actually ends up being more on the nose than reality?

The weather is a bit cool this morning, and it looks like we got a bit of rain last night. But the weather shouldn't be anywhere near bad enough to keep the real patriots of the United States here in Tucson form showing up. Nor likely in any city in the country.

Meanwhile, Trump's approval rating steadily continues to sink into the Swamp of his own making.

WOO HOO!!! There had to have been at.least as many people as last time. My FASCIST ASSHOLE sign got tons of thumbs up and people taking pictures of it. Lots of cars honked at it.

These things are so revitalizing and encouraging.

Can't wait til the next one! We can do this every week.

"that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's"

Is it a misplaced vanity that makes you persistently post this mirror image of yourself, PB? "

Interesting you mention of Vonnegut and leaders, Pondy. My son did his PH.D on leadership through and in literature and used Fahrenheit 451 as a prime source.

  12. by Ponderer on April 19, 2025 9:26 pm

I'm going to make another sign for the next one. It's going to have Trump's face in the middle surrounded by the words FASCIST ASSHOLE again.

But this one will be bigger. I mean, he's certainly going to be a bigger and bigger fascist asshole as time goes by. So it will be all the more appropriate.

There were only three cars that flipped us off. And one rabid MAGA Hat happen to stop right in front of us and started yelling at us through his open passenger window, "Ah, look at all the commies! Do you like being commies?" We didn't hear much of any more than that because he got drowned out by me and the other protestors until the light changed. I mean... commies? That's the best you MAGA Hats can come up with in a pinch?

At one point this woman on a bike came down the road with a bike trailer behind it with two little girls in it. The mom had a sign and the girls, like 5 or 6, had signs. I thought to turn my sign away that said FASCIST ASSHOLE on it from them... until I saw that one of the little girl's sign said "FUCK DONALD TRUMP" on it! 😁

The whole thing was totally pleasurable, so reinvigorating. And I can't wait for the next one.

Boy, it was perfect weather for it too. We can do this all administration.

It certainly seems that your decision to leave Long Beach was a good one.

Did you spot yourselves in that fast moving video?

  15. by Ponderer on April 21, 2025 7:10 am

Yep. At 1:27 you can see me standing in my maroon sweater and grey hat in front of a 3-legged camping stool. Donna is sitting on the ground to my left. And My ex-wife, who we recently got to move to Tucson from Studio City in L.A., is sitting behind me in the other 3-legged stool wearing a blue jacket.

So far, Rachel has shown images from at least two of the events we've been to when she's showing how many people all over the country are participating in these protests against Trump's criminally unconstitutional fascism.

(My ex had been in a cramped old 1-bedroom apartment with bad heating and cooling and a landlord that let the whole place go to shit for 23 years. She was paying $1,400 a month and that was with rent control. She had recently inherited some money when her last parent passed away and her family house was sold. Her only income has been SS and that inheritance. She had just decided to go for this move when all those L.A. fires broke out literally surrounding her. That kinda sealed it for her.

I found her this perfect 2-bedroom manufactured home in one of the nicest manufactured home parks in town that was only 10 minutes away from us. She paid $40k cash (a total steal for the place) for the unit and the lot rent is $650 a month. That's a heck of a nice drop from what she was paying.

Every time we talk now or get together, she goes on and on about how much she loves it here and how happy she and her cat are with the place. Her cat seems to have even gotten over its asthma since being here. Sometimes she goes outside at night, looks up at all the stars, and cries. She's an artist and has just made friends from so art students at the university already.

She moved into the place having only seen a video I sent her of it after finding it. When I picked her up at the airport, it was the first time she had ever set foot in Tucson. We went straight to the park office and she signed all the papers and handed over the check and got the keys before actually seeing and entering her new place for the first time. I had managed the movers when they brought all her stuff a few days before.

She has even talked her best friend and her husband to move here, and they are in the process of buying the unit that just became available and is directly across the street from her place in the park. When my ex and I met in the late 80's, her friend lived across the street from her then too! So we're going to have quite the retirement club going here! That is, until Trump destroys Social Security and we're all out on the street.)

The glories of a purple state that voted Tangerine, by 180,000 votes!

  17. by HatetheSwamp on April 21, 2025 9:51 am

    po, Donna,

I was just watching coverage of the rallies on The Hill who raised the question: How many of the protesters were younger than Boomers? Yours does seem to be a very geezerly movement.

  18. by oldedude on April 21, 2025 10:48 am
That's pretty typical of most protests in the western world. Although this is different in that it's on a Saturday. The protests throughout the week are a lot of paid folks who don't have a job. Those who do actually work are pressing that time clock, especially those with part-time hourly jobs. Restaurant, janitorial, and maintenance workers, can't give up the hours. Not sure how donna can slide her hours if at all, po (I think) has the power to slide her schedule if things arise. Around us, we had maybe 20 people that my wife saw. It was mostly snowbirds and blue hairs. Restaurant workers here (and there are a lot) won't give up the weekend hours especially since school isn't out yet and tips are better on the weekends. There are also a lot of medical folks that are mostly off on weekends (sans hospitals of course). Most everyone that she saw just avoided them and went on their way.

  19. by Curt_Anderson on April 21, 2025 11:19 am
    Ponderer,
I will have to take your word for it that you Donna are there. I stopped the video at 1:27. I spotted the jacket, hat and stools so I guess I "saw" you.

Here is our anti-fascism protest this weekend in Ashland, which I did not attend. Check out the signs of which there are several photos. I like the sign reading "This Turd Reich Stinks". There are others of a scatological nature. A lone pro-Trump counter-protestor showed up. He preferred to remain anonymous.

It is true that the anti-Trump protestors are largely Baby-Boomers. That is great, since Baby-Boomers vote more than other generations, donate more to political causes than other generations and volunteer their time more than other generations.

"That is great, since Baby-Boomers vote more than other generations, donate more to political causes than other generations and volunteer their time more than other generations."

That's what the CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, et.al., gangs were preaching early in the evening before Trump's landslide emerged, baha.

  21. by Ponderer on April 21, 2025 7:22 pm

What a great showing! You GO, Ashland! That was so great, Curt!

We're really going to go to every one of these that happen here. There's gonna be one on May Day. Can't wait.

It's on a Thursday, so I'll be on the lookout for the bus loads of olde dude's bussed-in, DNC-paid plants.

    Film at eleven.

  22. by Curt_Anderson on April 21, 2025 7:38 pm
My wife was annoyed that she didn't get any notification about the local protest. She is on an Indivisible email list. I didn't see any reports beforehand about it either. We just made large (for us) donations to the Democratic Party and ACLU tonight.

  23. by oldedude on April 21, 2025 9:32 pm
You're so fucking stoopid it's unbelievable. Although that's a great thing for the GOP. So keep it cumming!

  24. by Ponderer on April 22, 2025 11:50 am

Curt, sign up for notifications from this group.

This thing has really got wings. People aren't going to keep taking his fascist bullshit takeover of the country for much longer.

    fiftyfifty.one

  25. by Ponderer on April 22, 2025 11:54 am

Plus, an awful lot of these things are springing up out of nowhere on the spur of the moment. It's really much bigger than we even know.

Rachel has been doing an outstanding job covering how ubiquitous the protests are all over the country. It's all just so encouraging!

  26. by HatetheSwamp on April 22, 2025 11:55 am

    po,

I've been asking. What fascist bull$#!t!!!!? Give examples. Specify.

  27. by Ponderer on April 22, 2025 11:58 am

And it's not all just people our age or older, Curt. Maybe two thirds of the groups I've been in were our age, but there were a lot of young people there. Almost all the organizers and volunteers were young people.

  28. by Ponderer on April 22, 2025 12:00 pm

"That's pretty typical of most protests in the western world. Although this is different in that it's on a Saturday. The protests throughout the week are a lot of paid folks who don't have a job." -olde dude

Well, we'll see how the May Day protests go. That's on a Thursday, so as I told Curt, I'll be watching for the bus loads of paid actors that you are hallucinating over.

  29. by Curt_Anderson on April 22, 2025 12:37 pm
    Ponderer,
Besides the obvious intent of protesting Trump's authoritarianism, these protests serve a secondary purpose. That being they are an alternative to the remoteness and isolation of social media. It was a social affair: I knew a good number of the people at the protest we attended a couple of few weeks ago. I would be surprised if any of my acquaintance in this town voted for Trump. I know none of my close friends voted for him.

If people reinforce each other to vote against fascism and enablers of fascism, that's a good thing.

Our best bet in combatting Trumpism is the justice system. The courts have ruled against him frequently. I hope and predict that the Supreme Court does too.

Because of Trump's abuses, overreach and threats to the balance of power, the other two branches of government have taken note and aren't eager to surrender their power to him. Even a few Republicans in Congress have shown some backbone against Trump.

Btw, after we donated to the Democrats via ActBlue, they emailed us asking if wanted any of our money going to Arizona. Apparently if we did our personal information is made public. The problem with that is that we don't want every organization hounding us for donations.

  30. by oldedude on April 22, 2025 12:40 pm
Like I said, I don't think anyone is getting paid on these, or did you just not fucking read the post you answered to?

I'm talking about the antisemitic, your summer of love that you (personally) wanted to burn buildings down, antifada, pro-baby murder protests. That sort of thing. That's why in the antisemitic protests; all the tents were the same at each college campuses. You blindly trust and defend people that want to destabilize our Republic, think about that. You're helping them do that.

  31. by HatetheSwamp on April 22, 2025 12:58 pm

"Besides the obvious intent of protesting Trump's authoritarianism, these protests serve a secondary purpose. That being they are an alternative to the remoteness and isolation of social media..."

What's happening is that the super-pi$$€d are forming their own little clique. They're becoming chummy with each other... but getting each other more noxiously enfuriated. That's not attractive to the people in the political middle who settle all American elections.

So, gang, hang. Enable each others' toxic progressivism. In the end, it'll make you feel worse... and convince the rest of us to avoid you like the plague.
