Almost 6,000 of the IRS goons who make you pay your taxes cheat on theirs! We were talking apparently in July/August ago about taxes, etc. Donna got tired of the back and forth (my assumption here) and told me to "just pay your damn taxes!" Which made the bickering come to pretty much of a standstill😁. I thought I would explain the title, and give credit where credit is due.
There was oversight report published in July, 2024 that showed that despite 96% of the 100,000 (now the total FTE/Contract) IRS employees are fulfilling their tax obligations last year, there were a significant share were delinquent. The lack of accountability among the agency's ranks raises questions, particularly given sweeping IRS efforts to enforce tax compliance and restore fairness in the nation’s tax system — starting with non-compliant taxpayers.
More than 5,800 IRS and contractor employees owe nearly $50 million in overdue taxes.
Of the 3,323 IRS employees with unpaid taxes, 2,044 owing more than $12 million were not on a payment plan.
Of the 2,484 IRS contractor employees with unpaid taxes, 1,729 owing more than $17 million were not on a payment plan*.
*Being on a payment plan indicates the taxpayer has advised the IRS they are behind and are willing to pay. NOT being on a payment plan means the IRS is capable of harassment, informing your employer, taking money out of your paycheck (up to a certain percentage), and seizures of property, etcetcetc. Just listen to the ads.
