These two years are going to be puuuuuure fun for ole pb!

Republicans have frequently grumbled that PBS and NPR news programming leans left, but efforts to cut or eliminate funding usually fade because legislators want to protect their local stations — 336 of them for PBS alone, with those in rural areas most heavily dependent on taxpayer money.

There's no way that GOPs'll get dumping NPR and PBS through the Senate. But, this is an 80/20 issue that Dems are on the wrong side of. And, when the legacy SwampMedia covers it, they're running GOP campaign ads for 026!

Trump eyes DOGE cuts to yank federal funds for NPR, PBS

Trump was asked if Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) might turn its austerity measures to federal funding for public radio and public television. There are also Republican bills in Congress to eliminate federal money for public media.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which helps fund NPR and PBS stations across the country, currently gets $535 million in federal money.

These two years are going to be a freakin friggin EFFINhoot! Baha bahaha ha!

Can you say, 80-20? See, I knew you could!

You actually are amused by the prospect of NPR and PBS being destroyed. The one broadcaster and TV chain that can be relied on for balanced, honest reporting as well as its cultural benefits.

    You are a miserable worm.

    meagain,

Big Brother is responsible for a small portion of NPR and PBS funding. As a libertarian-ish GOP, I strenuously oppose state and federal funding of the rubbish they produce.

Even red blooded libertarians do not oppose public funding of national broadcasters. The US is the only major country that does not have a publicly funded one. PBS is the nearest thing to it.

I can understand that you don't like it. No one would ever 'accuse' you of having any sort of political sophistication or culture.

By definition, you are exactly wrong.

By definition, you are an ignoramus. You profess to be a libertarian but you don't know what it means. Libertarians do not oppose public broadcasting.

To quote Inigo Montoya, "You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means."

You may not be an actual moron but you ain't as smart as you imagine.
