I can understand the sentiment.

I first visited this forum around 2003 or 2004, back when there were a few dozen people posting messages. I'd hang out for a while, then when things get too obnoxious, I'd drift away, come back and check the comments every once in a while.

Except for the two trolls, most people here seem reasonable, worthy of having a discussion.

I know there are a lot of reasonable people who voted for Trump, reasonable conservatives, people you can have a conversation with. And there used to be people like this in the forum. Now it's just bad-faith trolls, pretending they don't like Trump but doing everything they can to support him and spread lies and attacks about everyone else. It's pretty boring.

I have though about asking, "Why are you all here, arguing with trolls? If you care about these issues, log off and go do something in your community." But I get the two aren't mutually exclusive. You can have an outside life and still argue and banter here. But seeing the same stupid crap from the same people can be exhausting. I get it.

Take some time off. Do something fun and rewarding.

Indy used to piss me off quite a bit, but it was encouraging that we had found common ground on a couple things. I guess that's progress.

So what happened to some of the old timers? I thought HHH said his job was at jeopardy because he was spending too much time here. There was the lady from India. The young Bush supporter (BushCheney2004?) who... went in the military and came out disillusioned? A couple iterations of Navies. A Sam Adams and a ThreeFinker. FacinatedForeigner. I thought I remember somebody died and his wife posted a goodbye message. Yeah, a lot of people pass through here over the years...

It will be a pity, indy. You do provide a different perspective, even if you are frustratingly dogmatic about some things. That is not a bad thing, either. It provokes thought. I have thought the same as Robert. Some highly intelligent contributors have gone.

Perhaps I view the site differently. It gives me some insight into how Americans think. The people here do think - even OD and HtS. I just don't have the time for more than I do.

I get it too. I left here a year ago and was gone about 6 months, a couple of months before the election.

I'm posting from the Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson, AZ with Sheri and a very dear friend who moved to Tucson 2 days ago. Waiting for our brunch to come. Stopped here after attending the huge protest at the Tesla dealership. I'd say that there were about 3000 people in attendance!!!
