Mr. Art Ofthedeal just announced that he's giving Putin everything he wants. Surprise, surprise. The Russian stock market is soaring. Ours isn't.

Pathetic.

Jackass has the "Gulf of America" poster next to him. It has a little graphic of the White House underneath the name - I guess that's to tell everybody the White House and the guy running it is currently under water. 🤔

    Donald Trump imitates Neville Chamberlain.

President Donald Trump said negotiations to end the Ukraine war will start “immediately” after holding a “lengthy and highly productive” telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday morning.

The call, which is the first known conversation between the presidents since Trump assumed office last month, came as as Trump makes clear to his advisers he wants to bring the Ukraine conflict to a swift end.

He looks like the little boy who broke the lamp trying to explain to his mom how it wasn’t his fault… continually looking at the floor and talking about how “other people” think this or that so we should do it. No leadership ability at all.

    Donna, all wokesters!

Did you watch Ben to the end? Did you catch the part where Ben trashed Trump for wanting democracy in Ukraine, elections?

So, you, too? Opposing democracy? That fits, actually.

I've said this many times. Zelenskyy is a dictator. A thug. Putin lite.

He's ended freedom of religion and freedom of speech in Ukraine. H€ck!, he has indefinitely canceled elections in Ukraine!...

... and, Trump's bad? Because he wants elections in Ukraine?

    For shame!

    You absolutely should be ashamed!

It's rare, gang! Ole pb... the most hawkish supporter of US involvement in the conflict... agrees with everything Trump is saying. Honestly, splain to me what's wrong with Trump's position. I'd love to read it.

The "dithering and diminished" "feckless dementia-ridden" Doddering Old Fool's Ukraine policy was to funnel $100,000,000,000 or so every year into Ukraine... SO THAT UKRAINE LOSES SLOWLY!

Give me Trump on Ukraine! Absolutely!

I guess we're aligned with Russia now, thanks to the stupidity of Americans. We have two of them on this forum.

You are a sick b..... HtS.

Trump has brought the world a large step closer to, WWIII. Who the Hell does he think he is negotiating a deal on the division of Ukraine and rewarding Russian aggression? And, he thinks he has the right to do it without Europe and Ukraine's participation. He is about to get his comeuppance. Europe's major nations have already warned him.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on February 13, 2025 8:41 am

    He's not doing that.

    wrongagain-

Just to elaborate on what Lead said. The US has put the most into Ukraine ($75.4B USD) out of any country, far exceeding canada who has put less than 10% of that ($6.3B USD). Germany is the next one in line with about half of that, mostly in testing their armored vehicles which the Russians found out quickly were really good.

He's also been talking to the EU, and especially Canada who also hasn't met it's NATO commitment since at least 2014 (2% of GDP). I'm a little surprised at that since you boasted how well the Canadian economy was doing, they wouldn't meet the commitments they made.

My point is that Europe doesn't really want to get involved in Ukraine and they were/are willing for the US to fight that war. If they were interested, they would have already started the process. Of course, now they're all jumping in and many have excluded Ukraine out of the negotiations.

The fact is that both sides are willing to negotiate. That's the first step. Although you may have missed my posts on the Russian Order of Battle (right after the invasion, so you weren't on much then), it only takes a battalion commander to order chemical weapons (Sarin, Trichothecene, Lewisite, etc) be used on the battlefield. That scares the holy crap out of me given Putin's desire to take Crimea and the ports. Especially now, with most of the buildings in rubble and there aren't any bomb shelters with suitable air vents.

If they're willing to go to the table, and the rest of NATO doesn't give a crap, I don't see where you post has any validity. Except maybe in the canadian media.

"Just to elaborate on what Lead said."

Thanks, OD, I don't suffer fools as easily as you do.

    Well said.

I'm far too prone simply to laugh at woke lunacy. I wish I were able to do what you do.

  10. by Indy! on February 14, 2025 12:37 pm

When I agree with OD - yes, I get sick to my stomach - but it also means we're usually both right. This war was stupid from the beginning - it will end stupid too. Just do it. Promise we won't bring Ukraine into NATO (just another welfare state we'll be supporting) and let Putin have the pre-2014 borders (or whatever it is he wants). If Europe doesn't care? Why should we?

  11. by meagain on February 14, 2025 1:55 pm
Your blind, bull-headed Americanism is endearing, OD. It is nice to see such passion even when it is based on a load of crap. America has 330 million people: Canada has 40 million. Naturally, you should pay far more. You could add to that, the great number of Ukrainian asylum-seekers and refugees that Canada has taken in. That cost a lot of money.

As for the NATO contribution, America should pay more than any other. It profits more than any other with the hegemony it gave to expand American influence around the world. It also greatly profited American corporations as weaponry became standardised and almost exclusively to American specifications for the benefit of American business. Even when there were better alternatives available - as with the F35s. The 2% was never a NATO policy. It was an aspirational target suggested by one of the European countries long ago. You could count all that expenditure on American equipment as part of Canada's contribution if you want to analyse what is really going on. Many billions each year.

The absurdity of leaving Ukraine out of any negotiations is palpable and should not need any argument. Further, America is not the one fighting that war. IT is on the sidelines buying the blood of Ukrainians to protect its own interests. As are the European countries.

You really don't get it. You are so blinkered you cannot adjust to rality.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on February 14, 2025 2:11 pm

"The absurdity of leaving Ukraine out of any negotiations..."

    huh

  13. by Indy! on February 14, 2025 2:37 pm

Where are your Brits on this, meagain? I notice you leave them out whenever it suits your "arguments". If the Europeans don't care about Ukraine (for good reason) - why should we? Or the Canucks for that matter? Zelensky has been photographed with large piles of money for trend magazines and he's gotten far more than he's deserved. Time to shut the con down.

  14. by meagain on February 14, 2025 4:44 pm
You arev a louse, OD. Even for you, that allegation about Zelensky is contemptible.

The "Brits are European in case you didn't know and like all Europe, they care a great deal about Ukraine. America doesn't any further than its own interests and Trump can't even manage that.

Canada cares more than any except for a few that border Russia and will be next if Putin is allowed to get away with this. And that will be WWIII because Europe will not allow it and will invade Russia.

  15. by oldedude on February 14, 2025 10:05 pm
Canada cares more than any except for a few that border Russia and will be next if Putin is allowed to get away with this. And that will be WWIII because Europe will not allow it and will invade Russia.

Then why doesn't canada pony up the other 90% to make up what they are lacking in support? They are #13 on the list for support, and less than 10% of what the US has sent for Ukraine. That tells me that at least the canadian government doesn't care enough about Ukraine other than to make a courtesy donation (more like an insult). You actually need to read my post. I already covered this.

And the rest of the NATO countries had to be shamed into giving to Ukraine. Of course, some of the countries (Germany for example) figured out quickly it's a great testing ground for aircraft and armor. And they're working out tech issues on a battlefield with the perceived hardware our enemy may be using.

  16. by meagain on February 15, 2025 3:08 pm
Go to Hell, Od. The Eu has given as much as America to Ukraine. Both over $60 billion and Britain proportionately more, Canada has given as much as the US proportionately and more in proportion to the size of the economy. Your rabid xenophobia is tiresome.
