Sarcasm? Obviously Mayor McSleaze IS above the law. Just like every other president who broke the law before him.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2025 3:33 am

So, is Trump a convicted felon, or not!!!!!

  3. by Ponderer on January 11, 2025 6:04 am

Mostly, Indy!. I just wanted to point out how that statement now officially joins the long line of sayings that everyone says but are actually not true.

When a multiply convicted felon can simply get away with the crimes he was found guilty of flagrantly committing like Trump has, there's at least that one person who is above the law.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2025 6:33 am

He's not a convicted felon until the jurisprudential Fat Lady sings.

  5. by Ponderer on January 11, 2025 6:44 am

Donald Trump is a convicted felon. I know that it drives MAGA Hats crazy to even imagine that he is. But he is. Sorry.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2025 7:09 am

    po,

It's an objective truth, under the law, that until Trump's appeals are exhausted, he's not considered a convicted felon.

How does it help you to deceive yourself into thinking Trump is a felon? I don't get it.

    po,

    Maybe you'll believe pb's Legal Goober #3! It's unanimous!

Um... His felony convictions are what he's appealing.

How could he appeal his felony convictions if he hasn't been convicted of any felonies?

Donald Trump is absolutely a convicted felon.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2025 8:24 am

    po,

He was convicted by a jury last summer and only recently sentenced but in a country in which any citizen is deemed innocent until proven guilty, the legitimacy of the conviction and the sentence has to pass the appeal process, so that the rights of the individual can be protected and preserved.

This is freakin friggin EFFINAmerica, man!

I have often asked isle why he even wants to be an American. And, now, I ask you. We are a nation in which the individual has radical liberty. Even friggin Donald Trump. Here, because we are a free people, even Donald Trump is not considered to be a convicted felon until all his rights have been exhausted.

America, love it or leave it. B'bye po. You hate what we're about. Just go.

  10. by Ponderer on January 11, 2025 8:48 am

Donald J. Trump is absolutely a convicted felon.

And, po, this is exactly what I used to admire... EFFINenvy... about you... until we stumbled on your Jewhate...

You live smack dab in the center of the preferences and prejudices that you bring with you to every moment of your life. Reality be damned. The rights of others be damned...

... but, there is that real world.

Dear God. The shamelessly boundless, wantonly brazen and flaming projection on this guy. Sheesh.

  14. by meagain on January 11, 2025 1:50 pm
It does not have to pass the appeal process. Most definitely not. An appeal is the appeal of a conviction, not a first test of guilt or innocence. There is no automatic right of appeal, either. An Appeal Cort can refuse to hear one if it thinks the conviction had merit. To appeal there has to be at least credible belief that an error has been made. It is the errors that are heard.

  15. by Indy! on January 11, 2025 1:57 pm

True - and by not bestowing any real penalty on Mayor McSleaze - it will be that much easier for an appeals court to deny a appeal.
