The first rule of Fight Club is "you do not talk about Fight Club".

Defense attorneys will cite prosecutorial vindictiveness as their first defense of their clients. It is a way for defense clients to avoid prosecution altogether. The United States Supreme Court has held prosecutorial vindictiveness to constitute a violation of a defendant's right to due process.

Prosecutorial vindictiveness requires the defendant to produce objective evidence showing that the prosecutor intended his actions punish a defendant. Kash Patel has already provided that evidence.

Since leaving office, Patel has promised in interviews that, if Trump returns to office, he and others will use the government to go after political opponents - including politicians and members of the media who he alleges without evidence helped overturn the 2020 US presidential election results.

"We're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections," Patel told Steve Bannon, a White House chief strategist in Trump's first term, on the War Room podcast.

"We're going to come after you, whether it's criminally or civilly. We'll figure that out. But yeah, we're putting you all on notice… We're actually going to use the Constitution to prosecute them for crimes they said we have always been guilty of but never have."

Trump said during his reelection campaign that he considers Patel’s book - titled Government Gangsters - to be a “blueprint” for his next administration.

In the memoir, which criticises the so-called deep state, Patel calls for "comprehensive housecleaning" of the FBI by firing “the top ranks”.

I actually love it that Team Fatass is chasing so many rainbows just to "get" the people Fox told them are their enemies. It means less time destroying the country.

Curt- I find it amazing that you can't admit DOJ/FBI did anything illegal or unconstitutional. And yet, just a hollow "threat" of your sworn enemy doing the same thing (that you'll never admit happened to them) and you go crazy. Maybe funnier is the word.

It's kind of like a bar fight and you pull a knife. And the other guy pulls one, and you whine "no fair" "I'm the only one that can do that!" It's bullshit.

You're such a good little german🙄. At least you're predictable. Very predictable.

    Again, pot-kettle, pot-kettle, pot-kettle....

By this you're saying that ALL charges against trumpster should be dropped. Georgia did it, New York changed a law to get him and him alone, and threats were made during the NY elections about "getting trump."

It's kind of like a bar fight and you pull a knife. And the other guy pulls one, and you whine "no fair" "I'm the only one that can do that!" It's bullshit.

Look up "Good German" in your dictionary. That little sketch? It's Curt. Baha ha.

And, Curt. Wake up man! Patel will not be the prosecutor. He'll be the, police Chief.

If Pam Bondi takes that tact, maybe... maybe...EFFINmaybe, you have a point.

    Maybe.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on December 8, 2024 9:31 am
HtS, Pam Bondi is another Trump zealot bent on revenge and vindictive prosecution. Her words are more fodder for any defendants that Trump deemed an enemy.

Trump’s nominee for AG Pam Bondi vowed last year that if Trump were to return to the WH, the “deep state” [anyone who opposed Trump’s corruption] would be eliminated”

“The prosecutors will be prosecuted. The investigators will be investigated.”

As was DOJ/FBI. Jack Smith (who filed to dismiss the j6 AND the mar-a-lago cases in November, which was granted. Apparently, they lacked evidence, and there were a lot of legal inconsistencies in the cases), Fani Willis (THAT'S a complete cluster!), and of course Alvin Braggert.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on December 8, 2024 12:12 pm

    Curt,

Bondi reflects the sentiment of the electorate which handed the Oval Office and both houses of Congress to Trump and his merry band.

The truth of the Biden DOJ is that it's the most politicized in the history of our Republic.

Bondi will have no difficulty demonstrating to a judge that the prosecution of the string-pullers' Stalineque prosecutors is justified...

    ... not even close.

"Bondi will have no difficulty demonstrating to a judge that the prosecution of the string-pullers' Stalineque prosecutors is justified...

You said something similar about James Comer and his vengeful, vexatious hearings. They were a disappointment to the MAGA faithful. I foresee more futility as Bondi will have difficulties with her prosecutorial efforts.

I agree it won't be close, but not like you think.

Both sides have to continually come up short on purpose. You guys didn't get the memo...?

  11. by Curt_Anderson on December 8, 2024 2:28 pm
    Indy,
The good guys didn’t come up short against a number of Trump criminal associates. Peter Novaro, Allen Weiselberg, Steve Bannon, Paul Manaforte and others were convicted and served prison time. Juries ruled against Trump. Giuliani lost a huge defamation case. A number of them were disbarred and were convicted in election interference cases.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on December 8, 2024 2:43 pm

You said something similar about James Comer and his vengeful, vexatious hearings. They were a disappointment to the MAGA faithful...

You'll have to ask a MAGA about that but I think they did what they could considering that it was the most highly politicized DOJ in history who would have had to prosecute.

  13. by Curt_Anderson on December 8, 2024 2:58 pm
    HtS,
James Comer and cohorts had two Trump-appointed special prosecutors working on their behalf: John Durham and David Weiss. Both Durham and Weiss came up short.

You are wrong in thinking it was only the current DOJ could prosecute. Local and state-level prosecutors could have prosecuted any wrong-doing had Comer actually made a credible case against his targets.

  14. by meagain on December 8, 2024 4:29 pm

If Trump's puppet does proceed with the vengeance campaign against prosecutors and others, then I predict massive civic unrest. It will be in-your-face evidence of the Fascism that has taken over. There are enough normal citizens in the USA who will not stand for it.

  15. by Curt_Anderson on December 8, 2024 4:46 pm
    Meagain,
I thought there were enough normal Americans to keep Trump from being re-elected president.

Hunter was convicted by a jury...TWICE.

curt- James Comer and cohorts had two Trump-appointed special prosecutors working on their behalf: John Durham and David Weiss. Both Durham and Weiss came up short.

You keep insisting there was no second part of the equation. Durham showed he didn't know enough about the case to actually talk about it in Congressional hearings. I'm not sure if he was paid or threatened. This is the swamp you love so much at work. And you're also insistent on whining about this whole thing.

It's kind of like a bar fight and you pull a knife. And the other guy pulls one, and you whine "no fair" "I'm the only one that can do that!" It's bullshit.

You're such a good little german🙄. At least you're predictable. Very predictable.

    Grow up.

    OD,
    Regarding your comments directly above:
I warned you and HtS that your confidence in James Comer and the other inquisitors would lead to disappointment. Now you are a sore loser with a vivid imagination.

  20. by Curt_Anderson on December 9, 2024 8:42 am
“Hunter was convicted by a jury...TWICE.” —HtS

Not quite. Hunter was convicted by a Delaware jury in the improperly completed gun purchase form case. He pled guilty in the tax case; no jury was involved.

As I said, Both Trump appointed prosecutors came up short inasmuch as their quarry avoided punishment. Trump also was found guilty by jury. But much like Hunter Biden, Trump avoided prison by the fortuitous use of presidential privilege (and running out the clock).

  21. by HatetheSwamp on December 9, 2024 9:29 am

    Curt,

Yeah, I caught the error a nanosecond after I posted the comment.

Don't forget. Trump-appointed will be running the FBI and DOJ in a mere matter of of weeks, keehee ha!

If the Comer stuff was crazy, it'll be magnified when it starts up in early January!

And your orange master was convicted by multiple juries THIRTY-TWO TIMES.
