This Trump endorsement is considered so big (relatively) that it made the front page of the FOX News website! The last minute endorsement comes from the son of Roberto Clemente. You might wonder how valuable the endorsement of a sports celebrity's son is. There is not much data or anecdotal evidence on that, but even real sports celebrities' endorsements don't seem to make a big difference.

As far as celebrities go, they didn't come much bigger than Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig who endorsed presidential candidate Al Smith in 1928. Spoiler alert, Smith lost.

If celebrity endorsements are worth anything, Kamala will have to be satisfied with Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Steve Kerr, Magic Johnson, Harrison Ford, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Smokey Robinson, Willie Nelson, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Oprah, Jennifer Lopez, etc., etc...

So honestly, I only look at reasons to vote for a candidate. I don't care WTF they "promise" I care about what' they've delivered. kammy? ZERO delivery. she can "promise" me the world and it's all bullshit. Prove to me she's not LYING about what she believes now, vs then (2017).

Oh come on, OD! You'd vote for Trump even if he mimed performing fellatio on a mic stand...oh wait.

Anyway, you don't seem to mind any Trump's flip-flops:
SALT caps: One key piece of legislation Trump signed into law as part of his 2017 tax cut package was a $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions.

Now, he's saying that if elected he would "get SALT back," per a post on his Truth Social account earlier this month. By this Trump means he'd seek to lift the cap on those tax deductions.

The SALT cap drew criticism from some lawmakers, particularly in states with high taxes and higher costs of living. A few of those states — New York and New Jersey, for example — could play a major role in deciding which party wins control of the House in November.

TikTok ban: Trump took a hard-line stance on the platform while in office, including supporting a ban on the platform over national security concerns because TikTok is owned by Beijing-based Bytedance.

In August 2020, he signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the app.
But he expressed support for TikTok earlier this year, amid a bipartisan push in Congress to force divestment from TikTok.

"If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business," Trump said on Truth Social in March, referring to the tech giant Meta and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Legalizing marijuana: Trump's Justice Department in 2018 rolled back an Obama-era policy that loosened prosecution of federal marijuana laws in states that had already legalized or decriminalized the drug.

But this month, Trump signaled that he supports loosening marijuana laws. He said on his Truth Social that he'd vote for a ballot measure in Florida that would legalize adult use of marijuana.

He also said that "it is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use."

Vaping: Trump in 2019 proposed a sweeping crackdown on flavored vaping products, then walked back parts of his proposal at the urging of his 2020 presidential campaign manager.

Earlier this month Trump went further, vowing to "save vaping" in a post on Truth Social.

The filibuster: During his administration, Trump criticized the filibuster, a bill-delaying tactic in the Senate that allows unlimited debate that can be stopped only by a super-majority vote of 60 senators.

"If Republican Senate doesn't get rid of the Filibuster Rule & go to a simple majority, which the Dems would do, they are just wasting time!," Trump wrote on X in 2017.

But during a 2021 podcast interview — at a time when Democrats had the Senate majority — Trump said removing the filibuster and allowing debates to be halted by a simple majority vote would be "catastrophic" for Republicans, echoing the view of many of his GOP colleagues.

Crypto skepticism: Trump wrote on his social media platform this year that the U.S. "must be the leader" in cryptocurrency. He also invited supporters who had purchased Trump "Mugshot Edition" NFTs to his Mar-a-Lago residence in May and spoke at a Bitcoin conference in July.

Trump's embrace of the industry — and its donors — comes after he expressed wariness about crypto as president.

"I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air," Trump wrote on X in 2019.

What they're saying: Trump's campaign is trying to cast Harris' flip-flops as political opportunism, while deflecting on Trump's own flip-flops.

Nor do you mind that Trump keeps flip-flopping his policy positions after meeting with rich people.

Clemente died in the 70s - who even remembers him outside of baseball nerds and former owners of sports publications? 🤔

He had been deriding crypto before this, calling it a "scam". Until a big crypto guy gave him a shitload of money. Now he's all in for crypto. Gonna even get in on the scam himself!

So olde dude, is one of the reasons for you to vote for Trump that he will deliver whatever his rich donors want him to, regardless of what he has said and done in the past? Is blatantly being for sale to the highest bidder and delivering on the purchase one of the reasons that you vote for a candidate?

They apparently remember him in Florida, Indy!:

Roberto Clemente book removed from Florida public schools pending review over discrimination references

“His story is his story. He went through racism. It’s something that can’t be changed,” Clemente's son, Roberto Clemente Jr., told NBC News.

A book about late Afro-Puerto Rican MLB legend Roberto Clemente can't be found in the shelves of public school libraries in Florida's Duval County these days.

“Roberto Clemente: Pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates” by Jonah Winter and Raúl Colón — and other books about Latino figures such as the late Afro-Cuban salsa singer Celia Cruz and Justice Sonia Sotomayor — are among the more than 1 million titles that have been "covered or stored and paused for student use” at the Duval County Public Schools District, according to Chief Academic Officer Paula Renfro.

School officials are in the process of determining if such books comply with state laws and can be included in school libraries.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed laws last year that require schools to rely on certified media specialists to approve which books can be integrated into classrooms. Guidance on how that would be implemented was provided to schools in December.

The book was eventually approved for exposure to young minds. This may be why they are trying to make a big thing out of Clamente's son endorsing Trump.

Funny that Jacksonville is following Desantis' rule that will be overturned sooner or later. What a waste of time and money. Thanks for the link. My brother was a Pirates fan and Clemente was his favorite player. I forgot just how good he was...

His humanitarian efforts are perhaps his greatest legacy in addition to his professional baseball career. Clemente became a posthumous Baseball Hall of Famer, with exactly 3,000 hits, four National League batting titles, 12 Gold Gloves, an MVP award, two World Series championships and 15 All-Star appearances.

Publishers sue Florida over book ban law, saying it creates "a regime of strict censorship" in schools

Orlando, Florida — On 16-year-old Jack Hayes' bookshelf you'll find books that may no longer be available in some Florida classrooms, such as the Kurt Vonnegut classic "Slaughterhouse-Five."

His mother, Judi Hayes, said the 2023 Florida law restricting certain books in school libraries is hurting Jack's ability to learn.

"We're not talking about Playboy magazine, you know, we're talking about 'Anna Karenina' and 'War and Peace,'" Judi Hayes told CBS News.

The Hayes are part of a federal lawsuit filed Thursday by Penguin Random House, other publishers and some authors that argues the law "violates the First Amendment" and has created "a regime of strict censorship" in schools.

Under the law, any Florida resident can challenge books in a school or classroom library in their county over sexual content. Once challenged, that book "must be removed within 5 school days...and remain unavailable until the objection is resolved," the law reads.

    More at link...

The last paragraph is where the GOP shows how "beta" and "cuck" they are when it comes to the First Amendment. They're ALL willing to let other parents tell their kids what they can and can't read. I've seen both OD and PB support this ridiculous UNCONSTITUTIONAL law in the past. That makes them beta cucks too. 😂
