I voted YES on Oregon Measure 117, Ranked-Choice Voting for Federal and State Elections. My guess is that this measure will pass.

Ballot text: Gives voters option to rank candidates in order of preference; candidate receiving majority of votes in final round wins.

Result of “Yes” Vote: "Yes" vote gives voters the option to rank candidates in order of preference for specified federal and statewide offices. Establishes process for tallying votes in rounds, with the candidate receiving the fewest votes in each round being defeated and votes for the defeated candidate going to the voter’s next-highest ranked active candidate. Requires that candidate must receive majority of votes in final round of voting to win election.

Result of “No” Vote: "No" vote maintains current voting system. Voter selects one candidate for federal and statewide offices. Candidate with most votes wins. Majority of votes not required for candidate to win election.

If Pennsylvania tries that, I don't know how I'll vote.

I like ranked choice too, Curt. I wish we had it it here in AZ.

You're right Curt !! I'm happy to see other states endorsing ranked choice voting. It solves many of the inherent problems in the two party system. And it insures that the winner will have been chosen by at least 50% of the voters. It is also good for third party candidates since voters don't have to worry that if they vote for a third party candidate they'll be throwing their vote away.

As you know we have it in Maine and it works beautifully. 👍

Speaking of third party candidates, I hope Jill Stein and Cornel West don't spoil this ultra-tight election and hand it to Donald Trump.

European Greens ask Jill Stein to stand down and endorse Kamala Harris
A coalition of European Greens have urged the US Green party’s nominee, Jill Stein, to pull out of next week’s election and endorse Kamala Harris to stop Donald Trump from becoming president.

Green parties in 16 European countries from Portugal to Ukraine distanced themselves from their US counterparts in a statement on Friday, and called for Stein to withdraw from the race.

“We are clear that Kamala Harris is the only candidate who can block Donald Trump and his anti-democratic, authoritarian policies from the White House,” they wrote.
