Three observations:

1. Rogan was refreshing.

Trump gets three two types of interviews. The one with deranged TrumpHaters who make Donna seem sane. The other with sycophants like Hannity or new media conservatives like Benny Johnson who all but off Trump a bj.

Rogan is nearly the only interviewer who didn't bring gross prejudice, of either type, to a conversation with Trump. Rogan has 18 million followers on YouTube and 15 million on Spotify... and he deserves them. Rogan is good. He gave Trump the freedom to be himself, yet kept the interview under control.

2. Trump did exceptionally well... on all the tough issues, including his claims that the 020 election was rigged and his much-maligned position on tariffs... and others. They talked the shooting. Golf. UFC.

3. Closer to home:

DONNA IS A FREAKIN FRIGGIN EFFINSACKOF$#¡T

In my other Rogan thread, Donna posted,

"Wow, you went to all the trouble of starting a new topic on Trump's appearance on Rogan without mentioning the new tax proposal Trump floated during the interview, where income taxes would be abolished to offset the tariff tax!

So iow Trump is now admitting that the new across the board tariffs he's proposing would indeed be tantamount to a tax increase on Americans."

OD responded,

"The closest I could come regarding the "no income tax" is that he said it was "an idea." He did talk about overtime and tips being non taxable before kammy did.

On Tariffs. trumpster did the same thing the first round. He's a businessman. He's setting up the plan now. Just like he did in 2016..."

Bang on.

Nothing like what Donna lied about is in the interview.

Two truths about Donna:

1. Donna is grossly intentionally misinformed.
2. Donna is, truly a DONNA IS A FREAKIN FRIGGIN EFFINSACK OF$#¡T.

And, it's by choice. Donna, clearly, chooses lies... and HATE!

pb can't understand why you'd make those choices.

I don't listen to trumpster at a rally. Why? Because his job is to "rally" people and convince them to vote for him. I much prefer something like the Rogan discussion. So yeah, I listened to the whole thing. Why? Because he can actually give reasons and the "how" he's going to do things. So I did appreciate that. Like I said earlier, I was a tad scared he was going to get on Rogan, with how he treats kammy, but that's trumpster. I agree Rogan was a big part of that success.

On the flip side, kammy can't give the same depth of subjects trumpster can. Her "plans" are semi-formed kind of like a pile of wet cow muck. It's runny and it stinks. And most of what you get from her is TDS. I understand articulating differences between you and the other candidate. But TDS isn't helping her. Obviously, trumpster hate rings with her base. I'm not her base and I'm interested in her plans. Which is pretty funny because she's the "move forward" candidate? But has no plans to do that.

That's why kammy is losing people that can think. That have a vested interest in good paying jobs with benefits. Giving folks training to fit what companies need. That's not always a college degree. It's skilled labor for manufacturing, construction, medical assistants, etc. If she's going to continue the same BS as pedojoe, she should be locked up now. If she's going to change paths, WTF didn't she do it before? joe's a figurehead. She could have done almost anything while she was in office and chose not to.

I haven't watched the interview, but multiple outlets are saying the Trump did indeed talk about replacing income taxes with a tariff tax during that interview. They have even privuded quotes from that interview, as the piece below does.

Hate, maybe you fell asleep during that part of the interview. That happens to old people often. In any case, you're the problem, not me. Maybe your dementia is farther along than you realize.

    ***

Trump tells Joe Rogan he supports getting rid of income taxes and instead relying on tariffs—’Yeah, sure, but why not?’

Former President Donald Trump voiced support for eliminating income taxes and replacing the revenue with receipts from tariffs.

During a three-hour episode of the Joe Rogan Experience on Friday night, the Republican frontrunner blasted companies that move production from the U.S. to other countries and threatened them with huge tariffs.

He added that the word tariff is “more beautiful than ‘love,'” and said the U.S. can become rich with the proper use of tariffs.

"Did you just float out the idea of getting rid of income taxes and replacing it with tariffs?” Rogan asked. “We’re serious about that?”

Trump replied, “Yeah, sure, but why not?”

He then repeated praise for William McKinley, who was president from 1897 until his assassination in 1901, calling him the “tariff king.”

“We will not allow the enemy to come in and take our jobs and take our factories and take our workers and take our families, unless they pay a big price,” Trump added. “And the big price is tariffs.”

This isn’t the first time he has hinted at the elimination of income taxes. In June, Trump floated the idea that revenue from tariffs could replace federal revenue from income taxes.

And during a Fox News segment at a Bronx barbershop on Monday, Trump was asked if the U.S. could end all federal taxation, prompting him to praise policies from the late 19th century.

“It had all tariffs, it didn’t have an income tax,” he said. “Now we have income taxes, and we have people that are dying. They’re paying tax, and they don’t have the money to pay the tax.”

Really, he explains how he is going to do things? He said he’d follow the example of William McKinley and eliminate income tax and revert to high tariffs to finance the country.

How will that be done without repeating the disastrous consequences America experienced with Smoot-Harley?

Did he explain that everything sold at Walmart will cost more?

"The closest I could come regarding the "no income tax" is that he said it was "an idea." He did talk about overtime and tips being non taxable before kammy did.

Trump floats ending the federal income tax. Here’s what that would mean

Trump Flirts With the Ultimate Tax Cut: No Income Taxes at All

So both of you heard it from a guy, who overheard it from another guy, who heard it from another guy....yadayadayadayada These are headlines from two of curts holy trilogy. MSN and NYT.

Both are known to exaggerate and lie about trumpster. If they had anything, I would think they'd be likely to stretch it. Oh. and rags like "mother jones," "rolling stone," etc. not a source.

    "I haven't watched the interview..."

    Donna,

My primary objection to what you wrote was your suggestion that I watched the interview and failed to mention a crucial exchange... WHEN YOU HADN'T WATCHED IT AT ALL!

Truth? I actually had seen the only part of the interview touching on tariffs and income tax and,...

    ...IDIOT ME!...

...I assumed it came up again because...

...DONNA WOULDN'T TELL SO RIDICULOUS AND OBVIOUS LIE!

Trust me when I say. OD characterized the exchange accurately:

    "Donna,
The closest I could come regarding the "no income tax" is that he said it was "an idea." He did talk about overtime and tips being non taxable before kammy did.

On Tariffs. trumpster did the same thing the first round. He's a businessman. He's setting up the plan now. Just like he did in 2016. That way, when he goes to the table, he's already told (especially China) the countries a what his starting point is. Then they argue from there."

No one in the MSM could have reported it fairly, or accurately.

This is what you posted that got this started:

"Wow, you went to all the trouble of starting a new topic on Trump's appearance on Rogan without mentioning the new tax proposal Trump floated during the interview, where income taxes would be abolished to offset the tariff tax!

So iow Trump is now admitting that the new across the board tariffs, he's proposing...

    You freakin friggin EFFINSACKOF$#¡T.

There was no new tax proposal. Rogan and Trump were chewing the fat about innovative changes in ways the nation could raise revenue and Trump tossed out the idea... with insightful recounting of the history of our income tax. But, you EFFINlied. There was no PROPOSAL... not even close.

And, just drop the friggin lie about "ACROSS THE BOARD TARIFFS." Trump didn't say anything like that! In fact, he talked targeted tariffs. You friggin liar!

You and po insist that Trump's planning ACROSS THE BOARD TARIFFS. And, I have asked for a trustworthy link and you never oblige.

Now I know why! You've been EFFIN lying to the whole SS community!

Donna, That's why I missed it before. To me, it was just a couple of guys BSing. We call it a "good idea fairy." which are full of bad ideas, but it's brainstorming and every once in a while, you hit on something good. I don't think this is one of them. And obviously to the "Friends of Big Brother club" it isn't a good idea either.

"I'm gonna put a 100, 200, 2000% tariff," he proclaimed last Tuesday in Chicago on the subject of auto imports, promising "the highest tariff in history."

    OD,

My theory: Our TDSers genuinely believe that Trump will install himself as a dictator.

They pretend away the existence of the Congress and the Judicial Branch of government.

The truth is, I found the conversation that the two had to be an enjoyable listen. My guess is that everyone who saw it, and it's waaaaaaay over 25,000,000 views just on YouTube... and has a moderately open mind will vote for Trump. It was compelling.

I've often said that OD and pb are the only seekers of truth on SS. We now know, for certain. Donna ain't a truth seeker.

You missed it, Hate. Don't blame me for your own failings. You're such a crybaby.

  10. by Indy! on October 27, 2024 10:50 am

The "judicial branch" is full of MAGAts willing to do whatever their far right masters tell them to do. We've seen that already.

  11. by meagain on October 27, 2024 11:38 am
“We will not allow the enemy to come in and take our jobs and take our factories and take our workers and take our families, unless they pay a big price,” Trump added. “And the big price is tariffs.”

It is alright then if they take the jobs and factories as long as they pay tariffs? Has nobody pointed out to him that they would not pay the tariffs? The American customers would.

The whole idea of tariff protection is laughable and a regression of about 250 years of economic progress. It is Mercantilsim. Back to an Age that ended 250 years ago.

I found it amusing to read that od liked that Trump gave reasons. Trump does not give reasons. He gives fallacies. Faulty reasoning based on false premises and conclusions. Constructs of no economic theory and entirely evidence-free.

What he does give is classic Fascism. A Hodge Podge of bizarre ideas that rad like the irrational ravings of an Ayn Rand entering dementia.

How anyone could watch three hours of Trump, I do not understand. Half of that and I would be thinking wistfully of "The Dead Zone."

  12. by Indy! on October 27, 2024 12:00 pm

The idea of "illegal immigrants" "taking" American jobs is ludicrous on so many levels. Americans are giving them those jobs. If we actually wanted to stop it - we would simply demand every employer provide all the information on all their employees. Boom - "problem" solved. But nobody running the companies (including Trump) want that to happen. So we're left in the same place we always are (not unlike the Israel situation) because the entire country hangs in the balance at the whims of the top economic tier.

  13. by oldedude on October 27, 2024 6:27 pm
And of course, you don't care about the law. Even ag jobs are supposed to run all they're employees through the ID system. If anyone would ever work for you, you'd know that. You are a business; you download the software for free, you run their SOC/ LNAM/ FNAM/ MI/ DOB.
(If you don't understand that I can give you the second grade tutorial. K?
