Let me start off with two words. I support Kammy. I support Kammy, but...

Trump gives us three hours of what Kammy can't even for three seconds: AUTHENTICITY.

Love him or hate him...

I thought the "interview" was great! It was more like a discussion, which trumpster is good at. I think one of the biggest things is that trumpster knows his subject matter really well. His admitting mistakes he made in the first term was also pretty insightful. And then of course, when he started to interview Rogan...😂

  2. by Indy! on October 26, 2024 11:51 am

Trump and authenticity should never appear in the same sentence together. The fat tub of shit is as INauthentic as it gets - a liar and a poseur who's as fake as his hair.

  3. by meagain on October 26, 2024 12:14 pm
I don't know why anyone is impressed with authenticity. Trump can't help but show it. His narcissism makes that an inevitability. He is a serial bankrupt, a serial sex abuser, a serial bankrupt and a convicted criminal with many other offences yet to be tried. As well as being a pathological and unconscionable liar.

But his lies don't hide what he is.

    Indy,

You've been preaching that cable is dying for nearly 10 years, and you're right.

But, the new media! Rogan. Megyn. Tucker. Et.al.! None of em are on board with Cackles Mckneepads. Baha.

  7. by Indy! on October 26, 2024 2:48 pm

So what you're saying is the Fox MAGAts are not in Kamala's corner. Gee... who woulda guessed? Good thing they are the minor players (virtually invisible) in the new media world.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on October 26, 2024 2:53 pm

pb's saying that Fox is almost as meaningless as CNN and MSNBC together.

    But, the new media!

  9. by Donna on October 26, 2024 3:09 pm

Wow, you went to all the trouble of starting a new topic on Trump's appearance on Rogan without mentioning the new tax proposal Trump floated during the interview, where income taxes would be abolished to offset the tariff tax!

So iow Trump is now admitting that the new across the board tariffs he's proposing would indeed be tantamount to a tax increase on Americans.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on October 26, 2024 3:12 pm

I know that Trump wants to end the federal income tax.

You still haven't linked us to across the board tariffs.

  11. by Donna on October 26, 2024 3:13 pm

Well then you should Google it.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on October 26, 2024 3:38 pm

... or I can conclude that you're lying.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on October 26, 2024 3:49 pm

    Donna.

    Tell me.

    Be honest.

    You watched the Rogan thing?

  14. by Indy! on October 26, 2024 3:58 pm

So PB KNEW Trump wanted to eliminate federal income tax (thereby blowing the already MASSIVE deficit thru the roof forever) - and yet like a good little Trumper he still voted for his master.

  15. by oldedude on October 26, 2024 8:20 pm
    Donna,
The closest I could come regarding the "no income tax" is that he said it was "an idea." He did talk about overtime and tips being non taxable before kammy did.

On Tariffs. trumpster did the same thing the first round. He's a businessman. He's setting up the plan now. Just like he did in 2016. That way, when he goes to the table, he's already told (especially China) the countries a what his starting point is. Then they argue from there.

Which brings me to the Rogan discussion, which wasn't a 20 minute quickie. trumpster stayed there for about three hours. He did talk about tariffs. very specific ways to use them, etc. His issue with China was to talk about EVs and the parts that go in them.

Trump talked about not taxing tips before Harris did, but he's also talked about this idea, which affects the same workers, and is something that Harris would never consider:

Employers would pocket $5.8 billion of workers’ tips under Trump administration’s proposed ‘tip stealing’ rule

On December 5, [2017,] the Trump administration took its first major step toward allowing employers to legally pocket the tips earned by the workers they employ. The Department of Labor (DOL) released a proposed rule that would allow restaurants to take the tips that servers earn and share them with untipped employees such as cooks and dishwashers.1 But, crucially, the rule doesn’t actually require that employers distribute “pooled” tips to workers. Under the administration’s proposed rule, as long as tipped workers earn minimum wage, employers could legally pocket those tips.

Evidence shows that even now, when employers are prohibited from pocketing tips, many still do. Research on workers in three large U.S. cities (Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York) finds that 12 percent of tipped workers had tips stolen by their employer or supervisor.2 Further, recent research shows that workers in restaurants and bars are much more likely to suffer minimum wage violations—meaning that they receive less than the applicable minimum wage—than workers in other industries. For tipped workers, some of these minimum wage violations occur when an employer confiscates tips.3

With that much illegal tip theft currently taking place, it’s clear that when employers can legally pocket the tips earned by their employees, many will. And although the bulk of tipped workers are in restaurants, tipped workers outside the restaurant industry—such as nail salon workers, casino dealers, barbers, and hairstylists—could also see their bosses start taking a cut from their tips.

As someone who's actually worked for tips - I can tell you the number is probably far higher than 12% of owners stealing tips.
