He's actually joining himself to the insurrectionists, counting himself as one of them.
Indy!, it came out at the Jan 6 Hearings that he was told by security officials before he spoke at the event that people were not going through the metal detectors to go in because they didn't want to lose the various and sundry weapons that they had with them. People were just mulling around outside the event perimeter, waiting for the speech to be over and the march to the Capitol to begin.
Trump's response was to tell them to take down the metal detectors. He didn't care if they had weapons. They weren't there to get him. It was all covered and corroborated by several very credible witnesses. They did not take down the metal detectors.
So yeah, he abso•fucking•lutely knew there were guns down there.

I remember the metal detector brouhaha now that you mention it. I was not really following the J6 thing because I knew it wasn't going anywhere. They're never putting a president in prison - end of story. Not even Trump.
