...(the one that looks kinda like Trump and talks exactly like him) came over last night wanting me to help him with some computer stuff. He knows just enough about modern tech (read: his phone) to get himself in trouble. So its always a surprise as to what happened this time around. Anyway, he says he needs to return an ebay purchase - he bought a hat that was autographed and he sent it to one of those companies that verify signatures, cards, etc... They said they could not verify that it was real (in layman's terms - it's most likely fake)

Okay - so let's see it. He pulls it out of the box and sure enough - it's a MAGA hat with "Trump's signature" on the bill. He was returning it thru ebay, so he'll get a full refund on the hat - but he's out the $100 to verify the signature. I thought that was pretty funny though - he bought a hat with a con man's signature on it, but it's the wrong con man. 😃👍

In all sincerity, it fascinates me that certain political figures generate that sort of devotion.

The last one before The ONE was Reagan. Who before that...

True, Pondy. There was only one person on the SS board who tried to deify Obama - and that was peebs. To this day he still calls him "the Chosen One". Maybe peebs is actually looking for a god that satisfies him in a way his Christian god can't - so he's glomming onto presidents instead.
