The implied accusation of, get ready for it:

MANSPLAINING

See video.

That's what she did to Mike Pence in 020. Effectively. Decisively.

In 024, Kammy has kicked and screamed, whined and cajoled in order to get ABC to require that mikes be kept open during the whole debate, in spite of the carefully negotiated rules, set even before the first debate. She lost.

Truth?

Kammy's not a bad debater, but she landed her heaviest blows against Pence in the "I'm speaking," implied, "You're mansplaining" moments. She can't do that this time. That's like telling Ernie Shavers he can't punch with that deadly right hand.

How dare that Toxic Male mansplain!!!!!? Eh?

*****

Having said that. Two observations about the coming debate:

1. Trump's an average debater at best. He did not destroy the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool in the first debate. The Flatulent Fool lost the debate. Among right-wing media, the conventional wisdom is that Trump destroyed "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" but all that really happened is that ole pb was proved to be correct in front of the world. Joe's brain is shot. Trump’s not a great debater at all, and certainly no better than Kammy.
2. Ole pb expects that, all things considered, when the dust settles, and polls are taken, Kammy'll be the winner by a split decision. She hiding out here in Pennsylvania, practicing the canned answers written by the string-pullers. She will deliver them well. And, Trump's right. ABC is the most biased of all "news" "reporting" media sites.

I'm convinced... and Curt,... the true SS expert on Fox News, can back me up on this... Trump's still Trump, but he's more disciplined, less arrogant, less belligerent, more constrained, than he's been in the past. But, he's still an obnoxious bully. Some of that will come across. But, it's less personal with Kammy than it was with the Former Truck Driver.

So, pb says that Kammy'll do well enough to come out slightly ahead from the debate.

Whadaya think?

solid post. And not one of curt's "as stupid as this is, they told me to say it" posts.

I agree with the mic thing. The other thing I think she wanted was for trumpster to keep interrupting or correcting her (in addition to mansplaining).

    1. I think that was the general consensus regarding pedojoe's non-debate. I think the party set him out to dry on that one. Just to get rid of him.

During the Q&A at the townhall, he did make a point well taken. He knows his platform well and practices the points every time he's speaks. kammy is still forming her platform, so it's still jumbled. And flip-flopping on your entire platform doesn't help. She needs to also be ready about bidenflation she was part of creating. Her economic sense sucks.

    2. We'll have to see on the results. I'm sure that on SS, kammy will win "in a landslide, i'm tellin' ya'. Much like pedojoe in his debate.

Unless one of them truly bombs, I don't think this will change anyone's mind. And if kammy does come out on top? Maybe she'll do a second debate. Who knows.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 6:16 am

    OD,

"I think the party set him out to dry on that one. Just to get rid of him."

    Amazing, ain't?

The smoke-filled room and string-pullers were careful to see that the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool was well juiced for the SOTU. Clearly, to me surprisingly, he didn't get a drop of the concoction for the debate. And, the woke SwampMedia dropped him like a hot potato as soon as the debate ended.

From that moment on, The ONE, Nancy and Kammy began the process of Let's Go Brandoning the Flatulent Fool. As the French say, et voila!

  3. by oldedude on September 8, 2024 8:55 am
I find it funny the one's that "claim" they're anti-swamp are so naive about it. My guess is the dims in that room were told by "others" that are far more powerful than they are what to do. I mean if it were just a bunch of politicians, they would have kept him in because they had him by the shorthairs. The true string-pullers are the global folks with the bizillions of dollars, or don't even keep their money in USD, EU, or GBP. It's in their own banks that we peons don't have a clue exist.

If Trump’s minions are already setting up their excuses - you know they’re scared. 😂

  7. by Donna on September 8, 2024 9:30 am

The only prediction I'll make is that Trump will constantly lie his fat ass off. It's what he does best.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 9:50 am

    Donna,

    Lie...

Like saying his opponent supports women being raped by their sisters?

  9. by Donna on September 8, 2024 10:23 am

I haven't heard that one, Hts.

It's funny but predictable that Trump and his collaborators Sean Hannity and the Fox News clowns are once again calling the debate rigged before the debate, as if pre-conceding Trump losing.

They did the same thing before his debate with Biden when they rentlessly attacked Dana Bash and "far left" Jake Tapper for being in the tank for Biden before the debate. But as it turned out, Bash and Tapper wound up getting harshly criticized by Democrats for not fact-checking Trump and allowing him to spew an endless stream of lies throughout the debate.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 10:30 am

    Donna,

Then you didn't pay attention to the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool in the first debate. See video. HA!

Donna, po. Watch Trump, in the video, keeping a straight face while that "dithering and diminished" "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" rants about Trump favoring the rape of young women by their in-laws and brothers and sisters.

    Talk about self-control. BA!

  12. by Curt_Anderson on September 8, 2024 10:52 am
    HtS,
I disagree with the theory stated in the title of your OP.

I may have posted it here, but I have said that I believe that the Harris teams' arguing for the unmuted mics was a way to assure that Trump would show up for the debate. He had been making noise about not showing up because ABC is "biased". With Trump negotiating for muted mics if he backed out now, he'd look like the part of the female anatomy which he grabs without permission. She is the more unknown quantity, thus she needs the debate more than he does.

The muted mic debate was also a signal to the ABC camera crew to keep their cameras trained on Trump while Harris is speaking. We might not hear Trump talking when it's her turn but we will be able to see Trump talking, which could be worse for Trump. Of course Trump might discipline himself and remain respectfully quiet while it's not his turn. 🙄

"Winning" a presidential debate is a vague proposition. I don't know that "I'm speaking" made that much of impression on the public. "...you are no Jack Kennedy" in another VP debate was considered a "win" but Lloyd Bentsen never became vice president.

The NY Times said today, "28 percent of likely voters said they felt they needed to know more about Ms. Harris". If she can exhibit competency and be likable, especially if Trump appears incompetent and unlikeable, that will go a long way to her being elected president.

Side note: The NY Times survey which I alluded to also reports, "9 percent said they needed to know more about Mr. Trump." Who are these people who don't know enough about Trump?

  13. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 10:58 am

I think the SS wokes could not be more off-base about Trump being afraid to debate Kammy.

The man's a Stage 4 narcissist. There's no way he's capable of thinking he won't wipe the floor with Kammy. This is all Art of the Deal... and getting inside KK's empty head.

You know who Trump is as well as ole pb.

    I don't get y'nes.

  14. by Indy! on September 8, 2024 11:33 am

Trump can think whatever he wants - it's his... ahem... "brain". However I think it's funny you believe a vp debate had any influence at all on any election ever. Kamala will be ready for the debate - Trump is already fearing it because deep down he IS that part of the female anatomy he likes to pretend like he can grab without paying $130,000.00 to keep that person silent about it.

  15. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 11:47 am

    Indy,

I don't think the Veep debate amounted to anything in 020. What I think is that the mansplaining card would have been a great one for KK to be able to play. She did it well on Pence. And, clearly, she wanted to have that arrow in her quiver.

But, dude, watch Trump while that "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool is accusing him of supporting women being raped by in-laws and brothers and sisters. He took it totally in stride.

  16. by Indy! on September 8, 2024 12:02 pm

Not watching your video and aint buying your latest amateur hour prognostication (that always prove to be wrong). Trump will do plenty of "mansplaining" when his mic is on. Besides that, Kamala doesn't need any help from the orange lard dumpster. She's smart - he's an idiot. She has a vocabulary - he has childish insults. Even Biden took him down in the last debate if we take away the grandpa's up too late slack jaw part - you said so yourself just yesterday if memory serves.

  17. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 12:06 pm

Yikes, Indy! You are hopelessly smitten.

Trump may do.his share of mansplaining but KK won't be able to say, "Excuuuuuuse me, Mr Trump, I'm speaking."

  18. by oldedude on September 8, 2024 12:13 pm
Lead. Again, making excuses for the swampsters.

  19. by ROB3RT on September 8, 2024 12:14 pm

You say Harris has lost her primary weapon, and that she's gonna have a harder time at the debate.

Thank you for helping to lower expectations.

  20. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 12:21 pm

    Rob3rt,

Read my post. I predict she'll win.

  21. by Curt_Anderson on September 8, 2024 12:33 pm
Incidentally, I had previously posted that I wondered if the muted mic controversy was misdirect about the real issue of Trump not showing up. See link.

I didn't suggest that Trump was to scared to debate. Trump has a history of not showing up for debates, especially if he didn't think it would be to his advantage. It happened four years ago with Biden. He didn't show up for any of the primary debates this year. He missed debates in 2016. He might not be too scared to debate, be he is scared of looking too scared to debate.

The opinions on the Trump/Biden debate are interesting. They also show how the eyes can deceive and send false messages. As well as proving that visual performance is now more important than actual performance.

Some analysts who listened on the radio say that Biden won hands down. Destroyed Trump with facts against Trump's rambling inanities.

I neither watched nor heard but I suspect the above is correct.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on September 8, 2024 12:56 pm

Monitoring right-wing media as I do, from what I can tell, Trump is champin at the bit to debate Kammy. He's laid the groundwork for a claim afterwards that the ABC moderators were biased, if it comes that.

I think that Kammy'll eek out a split decision... but not more than that.

  24. by Indy! on September 8, 2024 5:18 pm

It was basically a repeat of the Kennedy/Nixon experiment. But if you saw it - Joe LOOKED like grandpa stayed up too late. Even if people watching understood he was winning the debate (as I did and related to pb in such a winning manner that even he believes it NOW, even though he didn't believe it at the time) - were shocked that we might be electing a guy way too old for the job.

  25. by Indy! on September 8, 2024 5:20 pm

    PB:
I think that Kammy'll eek out a split decision... but not more than that.

If by "split decision" you mean your pals at Fox will be saying Trump won? Yes they will. Because they have no choice. That is what Rupert Murdick pays them to say.

  26. by Indy! on September 9, 2024 8:00 pm
If Trump’s minions are already setting up their excuses - you know they’re scared. 😂
