Here we go (yet) again with very selected Chinese agents working or at least having very close (or way too close) contact with US politicians. Many on the left are serious in defending these leaks and being played by the Chinese. There's nancy (her driver of several years, of course), swallowswell (FangFang), Walz (the entire CCP Intelligence community) just to name a couple. Now it's Hochul and Cuomo. In Hochul's defense, Sun was fired prior to any arrest being announced or affected. So Kathy saw bad things, fired her and spoke to LEAs (that would be DOJ, with maybe IN tailing along). And of course, lets not forget the diamond pedojr got from the Chinese.
Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and former governor Andrew Cuomo, and her husband[4] were recently arrested and charged with acting as an undisclosed agent of the Chinese government[1][2]. Sun is accused of using her position to serve the interests of the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party in exchange for millions of dollars[3]. Her husband, Chris Hu, was also arrested on related charges4.
This case has drawn significant attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the high-ranking positions Sun held in state government[3].
According to prosecutors, Sun allegedly:
1. Forged Hochul's signature on a letter inviting Chinese officials to come to New York, which they used to get visas
2. Changed the messages of state officials regarding issues of importance to the Chinese government and Communist party
3. Obtained official state proclamations for Chinese officials without proper authorization
4. Violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires individuals to register with the Department of Justice if they are involved in political or advocacy work for a foreign government[3].
In other news regarding the Chinese. These are the titles of the articles, as well as the sources.
US: Chinese agents paid bribes in plot to disrupt anti-communist Falun Gong movement (AP)
John Chen and Lin Feng were charged in an indictment unsealed Friday with scheming to revoke a New York-based Falun Gong organization’s tax-exempt status and paying bribes to a undercover officer posing as a U.S. tax agent.
The undercover officer recorded multiple conversations with Chen, and investigators obtained a wire tap to record phone calls in which Chen and Feng discussed instructions they purportedly received from Chinese government officials, prosecutors said.
In one recording, prosecutors said, Chen referred to Chinese government officials as akin to “blood brothers” and, in another, he said Beijing would be “very generous” in rewarding the undercover officer’s help cracking down on Falun Gong’s non-profit status.
U.S. charges 13 in cases that involve alleged plots to advance Chinese interests (NPR)
The Justice Department has announced charges against 13 people, including suspected Chinese intelligence officers, in three separate cases that involve various alleged plots to advance Chinese interests in the United States.
The prosecutions are the latest example of the Justice Department's efforts to combat what U.S. officials say is a relentless effort by Beijing to steal American secrets and technology, and to covertly push China's interests in the United States.
"As these cases demonstrate, the government of China sought to interfere with the rights and freedoms of individuals in the United States and to undermine our judicial system that protects those rights," Attorney General Merrick Garland said at a news conference. "They did not succeed."
