For all of you that supported the complete goatf**k called the Afghan pullout that the joe and kammy show put on three years ago.

The "problem" with these rules is they are considered under the "morality" code. For most of the violations of these rules the penalty is death.

Afghanistan's Taliban rulers last week imposed a new round of wide-ranging restrictions that attempt to control people's lives, behaviors and social interactions.

They deepen the already pervasive restrictions on women and girls in Afghan society, and expand the Islamic fundamentalist group's control over Afghans' private lives.

Since seizing power in August 2021, the Taliban have rolled back progress achieved in the previous two decades when it came to women's rights.

They have banished women and girls from almost all areas of public life.

Girls have been barred from attending school beyond sixth grade, and women have been prohibited from local jobs and nongovernmental organizations. The Taliban have ordered the closure of beauty salons and barred women from going to gyms and parks. Women also can't go out without a male guardian.

That was really Bush’s war - he got us in. Or Obama’s war - he could have got us out when we (allegedly) killed Osama bin Laden. Or Trump’s war - he had 4 years to kill it when everyone (including him) knew it was long past time to end it. Or maybe - just maybe - Joe deserves some of the blame because he did extend the occupation another few months… Yes, lots of blame to go around if we’re keeping track…

But Kamala? Sorry OD - don’t think you can hang that one on her.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on August 27, 2024 3:41 am

    Indy,

Fox runs that video of Kammy claiming to be the last person in the room with Joe when he made the decision to leave in the humiliating way he did. She owns this.

And, a reminder. pb opposed the pull out. He still believes that the US should have maintained a military presence in Afghanistan similar to it's continuing presence in South Korea.

Women and girls would still be free if we had.

    pb was right.

indy- Joe did the pull out. He was the "mastermind" and the Commander and Chief of the military at the time. The pullout is on him. Period. He could have listened to his advisors. He could have stalled. He had everything every other president had to make a decision, which for him was purely political.

As President you can't play the whiney little nancy victim saying that you were left the poop pile. You knew that when you applied for the job and spent millions of dollars to get elected.

Kudos to pedojoe though. He and kammy thought it was a great success! So THEY'VE CLAIMED IT. Regardless of what YOU say.

Lead- Yeah, we both knew what was going to happen. We said it them. No one listened because "that doesn't happen" in their minds. You know, "people aren't really like that" BS. They are. This is a barbaric Theocracy built on worse human beings than the "Church" during the inquisitions. It's state sponsored terrorism, but to it's own people.

But remember. They're only little brown people. They really don't matter to the white, rich, limousine liberals.

    OD,

As you know, I'm no fan of Trump but I'm convinced that if Trump'd won in 020, Ukraine would not have been invaded.

And, while I disagree with the total withdrawal from Afghanistan, I am certain that our commitment Afghani citizens would have been kept, $billions of our military equipment would not have been surrendered to the Taliban it's likely, with Trump still in the Oval Office, women and girls in Afghanistan would probably still have a decent quality of life.

    Thank you, Kammy and Joe.

I agree with the Ukranian situation.

Like you, I expected, at the least, to have a contingent of military much like Germany after WWII. Stabilization of the government (which would have been a first in Afghanistan), and initially making the country safe for the citizens. This is much like taking out the Wolf Packs after WWII. In addition to having a stabilizer there, we'd have access to communications (read eavesdropping) and satellite overwatch of that end of Russia, and that side of the Middle East/ Central Asia. That, in itself, would have been gold.

With two major bases there, we could have done that. And had the ability to run QRFs out of that area if needed.

  6. by Indy! on August 27, 2024 10:35 am

The military brainwashing always comes thru. First off, you got another loser if you think this is going to affect Kamala, OD. Because if you think ANYONE outside of the military types like yourself with a personal financial interest in war are unhappy we LEFT Afghanistan? You're nuts.

And so far as the "little brown people" you feign concern for everytime Afghanistan comes up? How come you don't have that same concern for Haitians? Or Somalis? Both of whom are living in similar - or WORSE - conditions than the Afghanis? Oh wait - no wars there. Nothing valuable worth stealing and the MIC and wealthy corporatist don't want to help the BLACK folks by blowing up and then rebuilding their countries.

And so far as the pullout itself? It was a planned operation that went down exactly the way the MIC wanted it to go down. It's comical that the (alleged) board "military expert" has no idea how his own military works. We left weapons in Iraq for a reason. We left them in Afghanistan for a reason. If we didn't want them to have those weapons - we would have simply blown them up. Just like we blew up shit in Iraq when we (really) didn't want them to get the locals to get their hands on it.

You're such an easily misguided rube, OD.

  7. by Donna on August 27, 2024 10:41 am

Good points, Indy!, except that our military disables those weapons of war before pulling out.

  8. by Indy! on August 27, 2024 10:54 am

Ummm... I don't think that is accurate, Donna. I'm not going to read thru all these articles, but I read enough to support what I said. Apparently SOME of the equipment was "disabled" (🙄), but apparently a lot of it was not and a lot is "unknown." My guess? None of it was disabled unless it was top secret or something. Either way - the point stands. The weapons are being sold to other countries now, so the MIC plan is working.

Yet again. for the fucking umteenth time. It wasn't that we left. I have no problem with that. It's HOW we left and the people we left that pedojoe "Promised" to take back before they were murdered by the Taliban for helping us. You need to pay attention for once in your life.

I have brought up the Haitians, and the Malians, and the Congolese, etcetcetc. Many times.

It was a planned operation that went down exactly the way the MIC wanted it to go down.
You're far more stupid that what I've ever given you credit for. Like I've said before overandover, even the JCS and the IC thought it was a goatfuck. They had half the air support they needed. Almost ZERO rotary wing support. Not enough fuel, No infrastructure support for either the aircraft, crews, or folks based there. They had ZERO CONTROL of who got on the base. the asshole "president" and VP hired the FUCKING TALIBAN to do entry control!

The fact that you don't care is immaterial. You mean nothing in this conversation. Your "input" is just stupid, and just proves you don't know anything about the military you haven't seen on Gomer Pyle. And you believe that's a documentary. Go back to your desk, shutup and color your comics that will never sell.

Donna- That was another one of the issues I just didn't get to. There's classified equipment that was left to get by the highest bidder. After all the issues that the comms folks get burned for, and they (the government) just leaves it there. Oh. Did you see the parade with all our equipment? That was pretty stunning.

  10. by Donna on August 27, 2024 11:15 am

It seems to me, though, that it would be a logistical nightmare, perhaos an impossibility to cart all of that equipment out of theater while protecting our military and allied personnel. Has sonething like that ever been done successfully?

  11. by oldedude on August 27, 2024 12:02 pm
Iraq. Most of the other theaters we had a force stay for a couple of years to get all that work done. The units didn't know what the game plan was until it was too late to implement is one of the huge issues. They didn't have the aircraft or infrastructure to blow their "stuff" up before they left. Some were promised air support, but it never showed up. The special forces units had all their stuff because they're used to moving conex's full of stuff and major units left early. We had folks there in case of a rescue need, but they were there for a week and then back to their home bases and replaced with a new crew. The typical units pretty much got caught with their pants down with a couple of days to be gone. There was a lot of confusion on the ground over this.

Even the units in the Kandahar were caught flat footed. With military vehicles, if you're using 2.5T and 5T trucks, it's a 2 day jaunt back to Kabul. The units had to carry their own fuel because everyone was told at the same time. So all the gas stations were closed or in Taliban control when they went through.

Again, the basics of how to evac that every land military member (army, Marine, AF) is taught, is concentric circles, starting on the outer frontiers of your units. Then move inward. That fell all to shit. So instead of "the normal" that would have made sense, nobody knew what the plan was or how to even get the plan and who had a plan. Total lack of communication all around. And like I told an ex. "I'm not responsible for what you don't tell me."

Sorry, I rambled. But this isn't a simple fix like many think.

  12. by Indy! on August 27, 2024 1:10 pm

OD has a lot of complaints. What he doesn't have is any answers. What were we supposed to do in Afghanistan? Stay there 1,000 years? Because that's the muslim clock for accomplishing things of that nature. And - again - it's funny how the only countries Od... ahem... "worries" about (🙄) are the ones where we might send in the military. Like all welfare queens - he's just trying to protect his paycheck.

  13. by Indy! on August 27, 2024 1:13 pm

I skimmed OD's novellas and had to laugh at this one...

"Some were promised air support, but it never showed up."

Why do you suppose that was, OD? The military comprises more than half of our discretionary spending - they have all the money, time and resources in the world. They can do WHATEVER THEY WANT. The key word is WANT - they didn't WANT to blow up the equipment because that is not their BUSINESS MODEL. War is a business and if your enemies can't afford weapons - what's an MIC to do? Hmmm... maybe leave some behind for them? 😂

  14. by oldedude on August 27, 2024 4:44 pm
As usual, your "knowledge" of the "US military" is non-existent since about 1955. you're running on "stories" from then and nothing more. You still think Ernie Pyle is still around, writing stories, and that we're still fighting trench warfare. Your posts about the military are just stupid. They reek of some spoiled white elitist prick that hates everything his parents and antichrist friends said about the world. Hook. line. and sinker. You never veered off of that path. It is just hatred of everything they told you to hate. And "indy?" That's the biggest laugh! you're nothing but the little german that doesn't understand it. You're bringing brats and kraut to the guards where the "snow" flies all year around. They pay attention to you, so you love them. And you'll do "anything" for them.

  15. by Indy! on August 27, 2024 6:34 pm
If I'm living in 1955, you're living in 1942. You still think we're winning wars.

  16. by oldedude on August 27, 2024 7:20 pm
nope. I was born in 1956. You're a fucking liar.
