They may be proven prescient if Trump's latest rant is foretelling.

“I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl’s (K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?” Trump asked on his Truth Social website Sunday evening.

As a general rule the candidate who is behind in the polls is eager to have a debate as it is a chance to turn things around. Harris has already agreed to show up on the ABC debate stage, Trump or no Trump. I personally think Trump will be there for the debate, mainly because he wouldn't want Harris to have the stage to herself.

So trumpster's not debating is what the thread title says. Got it.

  2. by Donna on August 26, 2024 8:25 am

Yep, Trump has been hinting that he won't be debating Harris on Sept 10. It'd be a shocker if he honored his prior commitment to that date. He doesn't have the intelligence or the faculties to debate her.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on August 26, 2024 9:06 am

Y'nes never believe a freakin friggin EFFINword Trump says. So he hints? and you go bonkers? Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh!

  4. by Indy! on August 26, 2024 9:24 am

The person that is losing is the one who needs to debate. So if Trump wants to pull out? Let him. Where will he have another opportunity to address all of America and allow them to compare candidates? He'll be putting the final nail in his coffin if he doesn't debate.

  5. by oldedude on August 26, 2024 10:14 am
The lead of the thread says that trumpster wasn't going to debate. VERY different than "considering" not debating. If words actually mean something, those are two different things.

He doesn't have the intelligence or the faculties to debate her.
I was just wondering (for the fourth or fifth time) what her platform is? She doesn't have it on her website (which is really weird to say the least). Trumpster (and most other politicians have the balls to put his out there for the electorate to see).

Again, she'll step all over herself making stupid decisions like "restricting what the retailers make when their profits are at the 1-3%, when normal retail sits at about 53%.

Something the dims have continually supported is the shoplifting industry, which is actually pretty lucrative for inner city gangs and organized crime. It's also pushing retailers out of areas where they're being hit hard by a mob stealing their inventory and leaving.

Along with lower margins and declining profits, the grocery industry is facing increased shoplifting. The costs here are significant and likely if there are not reversals of policies by prosecutors or legislation not to prosecute 'small theft', the costs of shoplifting will continue to eat into grocery store margins.

And to go along with threats of controlling prices and the reality of shoplifting costs, there is the additional Democratic proposal to increase federal corporate taxes by 33%. This additional cost would have to be passed along to consumers.

Trump is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He’s afraid to debate Kamala and with good reason, and afraid not to because it would be a terrible blow to his ego…And he knows that everyone knows the predicament he is in and we are all watching…

"I was just wondering (for the fourth or fifth time) what her platform is?" - od

She laid out much of her platform at the speech she delivered in NC last week, but in case you missed that, see the link below.

She's had to conduct her entire campaign in about 100 days, so yes, her campaign is playing catch-up on some things. This is not a normal campaign season.

More like 35 days as of today.

    OD,
The headline of this thread or the opening post does NOT say Trump wasn't going to debate.

  9. by oldedude on August 26, 2024 11:54 am
First, if she were any kind of politician, she should have started things like a platform on June 28th, thinking that pedojoe "might" be thrown off the ticket. She already had his. Just change what you want. That is the basis of her gameplan. Her "intent" of her term in office. Without that, you'll get what you're getting. gibberish and doubletalk. That also tells me like joe, she can't think 2-3 years down the road. Much less her desired end result.

She needs to explain her changes in the past three months. Most are 180's from where she was before. Something smells in Denmark over that. I do agree with people changing. That's normal over a few years. Her changes though (not written down by the campaign) are scattered.

I don't expect exact quotes on this. That's not what I'm looking for. If she does a 180, she needs to go on an interview to specifically explain her platform. The media has been pretty ugly to her about not doing interviews. She won't do it.

Obviously, even if I agree with her (perceived) goal, I don't trust her enough to follow through. I think the American people are going to be very frustrated, and folks on the far left will be very happy with her. Joe already pulled those shenanigans, and she doesn't have the creative thinking to do something else.

So that's just me after I read what CNN chose to write.

I’ve watched Harris at the congressional hearings and the past couple of weeks since Biden stepped down and she has been, as Bloomberg described her, “sure-footed, concise, forceful and charismatic. She was the Harris with star power, the kind that catapulted her to the vice presidency.”

Watch what she does to Bill Barr.

I think Trump believes that he has to do the debate. I think that because he is making like the debate doesn't even matter to him and he's already got "all the votes I need locked up". The audacity of this man's ego!

The only question now is which part of him will win? The part that knows he's gonna need more votes and he has to keep the ones he's already got, or the part of him that is absolutely pants-pooping petrified of going up against his worst nightmare.

Something of an existential dilemma for the orange meat sack:

His enormous Ego, that believes he can get his way out of anything...

...Up against his Fear, that knows that he can't.

    .......

    isle,

The Vice President of the United States testified recently before Congress? What happened to Separation of Powers?

She was the Harris with star power, the kind that catapulted her to the vice presidency.”

Imo, isle, you're seeing with your heart.

But, I agree she's not an oaf asking questions, but, answering? She's a Word Salad chef.

"But, I agree she's not an oaf asking questions, but, answering? She's a Word Salad chef." -Hate

I love how happy as a pig inshit Hate has gotten, just from even thinking that Kamala and his Orange Oracle have a negative trait in common.

  14. by Ponderer on August 26, 2024 1:34 pm

For Trump, deciding about doing the debate or not is kind of like the choice between getting eaten by a shark, or electrocuted.

(Just thought of that line and had to use it)

  15. by HatetheSwamp on August 26, 2024 1:44 pm

Let me start off with two words. I support Kammy. I support Kammy.

    po,

I get that neither Curt's Holy Trinity nor your metaphorical Rachel report on Kammy's word salads. But, they're real. Have you ever noticed that she has yet to submit to an interview, even by a friendly reporter?

    There's a reason for that.

She's great on a Teleprompter, reading someone else's words. But, on her own? She's the Titanic looking for an iceberg!

    And,...

    ...she loves saying 'galvanize.'

Hate, I haven't heard that Vice President Harris recently testified before congress, when was that?

  17. by Donna on August 26, 2024 3:00 pm

LOL! I hope you aren't expecting cogent response, islander.

That video of Kamala's interrogation of then A.G. Barr exemplifies why the veteran-hating convicted sexual predator is shitting his pants over the thought of debating her... which is why he won't.

  18. by Indy! on August 26, 2024 3:19 pm

Peebs... you seem to be digging deeper and deeper to get these vids that are absolutely meaningless in today's race. What happened... Fox finally ran out of lies?

  19. by Indy! on August 26, 2024 3:23 pm

Barr was another unqualified jackass the country had to settle for under Trump because he can't get top flight help due to his background of lying, cheating and stealing (often from the people working for him).

  20. by HatetheSwamp on August 26, 2024 3:42 pm

    Indy,

I merely posted the first... OF MANY...
Kammy word salad videos out there.

But, you're smitten. Go for it!

Plus, they have to swear an oath to him. And few reputable people will do such a thing.

  22. by Ponderer on August 26, 2024 3:57 pm

    Bill,

How did you come to figure that by my saying that she and Trump share a negative trait in common that I was denying that it was an issue with her?

My guess is that she's getting coaching of late, knowing that it's something that she needs work on. And we'll see how much better she ends up being in coming weeks. I think she's going to surprise a lot of people.

Trump doesn't believe that he ever does anything wrong. So, no coaches could get anywhere near him.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on August 26, 2024 4:21 pm

    po,

Allow me to make a prediction via comparison. You could coach ole pb till the bovine return to the barn. He'll never be able to throw a 90 mile an hour fast ball... And,...

You are exactly right about Trump... However, the GOP is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and freethinking. Trump has that institutional advantage.

In the tolerant GOP culture, Trump welcomes RFKJ and no one blinks. He accepts the endorsement of 020 Dem candidate Tulsi Gabbard and no one objects anywhere in the party.

    Freedom, baby!

  24. by Ponderer on August 26, 2024 7:01 pm

"Allow me to make a prediction via comparison. You could coach ole pb till the bovine return to the barn. He'll never be able to throw a 90 mile an hour fast ball... And,..." -Hate

Ima stop you right there. You were trying to make an equitable comparison there, weren't you. Now we've been over this, Bill. That's the most asinine comparison that you've made in a while.

Here. Let me show you how it's done...

"However, the GOP is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and freethinking." -Hate

Like the Ku Klux Klan is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and freethinking.

"In the tolerant GOP culture, Trump welcomes RFKJ and no one blinks. He accepts the endorsement of 020 Dem candidate Tulsi Gabbard and no one objects anywhere in the party." -Hate

Like rats so stupid, they're jumping onto a sinking ship.

  25. by Indy! on August 26, 2024 8:21 pm

No blinked when RFKJ endorsed Trump because nobody saw it happen if they weren't at the rally.

And why would anyone care if a D (she's actually an I now) endorsed Trump? People switch allegiances during campaign season for all kinds of reasons. And if that's a sign of "inclusiveness" according to Fox - take a look at all the Rs jumping on the Kamala bandwagon. Trump got 2 so far. Kamala is getting 2 in the afternoon and 2 in the evening every day.

    🤔

Guess it's actually the Ds who are the home of inculsiveness.
