For cable. And the reason is simple - big news in July, a presidential candidate stepped aside. ALL news networks got a huge boost from that event. But let's try a dose of reality here with your "good" ratings news...
Broadcast:
ABC World News Tonight with David Muir averaged 7.590 million total viewers for the Week of July 22.
Cable:
Fox News‘ average primetime audience was 3.45 million viewers, up a whopping 120% from the same period in 2023.
This is what I meant about "percentages". When it comes to cable - they always talk in "percentages" because it SOUNDS impressive. In reality, even in their "best month" - they are not bringing in half of what broadcast brings in. They say "best month ever" or "ratings record" - none of that means anything in reality - but it impresses low information watchers like you and OD.
