From Newsweek, picked up by MSN 1/7/2024... Neither of which are a conservative site.
From Detroit Police Commissioner Ricardo Moore of Detroit. Someone that I would consider to be truthful about the crime in their own jurisdiction and want to do something for their citizens (and non-citizens alike). It seems "funny" the police Commissioner's understand their numbers regarding murders are a lie, but our limousine liberal sheep can't accept that reality.
"Come January 1, the police will say crime is down and then we'll start all over again. Funeral homes, hospitals and florist are the only people who profit from Detroit crime," Moore told The Detroit News.
A mass shooting at a block party in Detroit early Sunday morning has left at least two people dead and 19 wounded, with multiple victims hospitalized, according to local law enforcement.
The Detroit Police Department (DPD) told Newsweek in an email statement on Sunday that the incident took place early Sunday morning at 13000 Rossini Drive in northeastern Detroit. The Detroit News reported the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. ET.
That neighborhood, situated in the 48205 ZIP code, is referred to as the "Red Zone" by the Seven Mile Bloods Street Gang and is known as one of the area's most dangerous.
The Michigan State Police, assisting the DPD, posted on its official X, formerly Twitter, account on Sunday morning: "There are 19 victims with various injuries and 2 fatal victims. Currently, there is no one in custody."
The state police requested anyone with information about the shooting to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
Sunday's deadly shooting comes less than a month after 20 people were shot in three separate mass shootings in the larger Detroit metro area.
On June 15, nine people were shot at a Rochester Hills splash pad, with victims ranging in age from 4 to 78 years old. An 8-year-old boy was critically wounded by a gunshot to the head. The last victim was released from the hospital on Friday. The shooter, who reportedly fired 28 times, shot and killed himself.
Since I actually put out my point (because the "one" the "editor" can't read) is that the LEAs understand what is happening in their jurisdictions, why can't we believe them? And, if you actually believe this is a "gun issue," please say how these guns were bought legally with the present laws and how the issue can be fixed.
