He wondered aloud why anyone would want to oppose the law. “Has anybody read this?” He asked, adding “They don’t want it to go up.” Theocrats in Louisiana and elsewhere like to claim that the Ten Commandments are somehow the origins of our American laws. Only three of the Ten Commandments have any relationship to prosecutable crimes in America and other modern democracies.
