first (for curt). There is no bloodwork, etc that can define "Alzheimer's." They do have a lot of cognitive "tests." Once a person dies, they can take apart the brain like they do with rabies or meth use. What the brain shows is "webbing" and "Webs" of brain tissue left. And like rabies, the doc will say "this is Alzheimer's." I'm not a doctor, and this is what the medical folks say.

This is much the same as when my dad died of "dementia." This is a legal definition of what "most" of the people that have autopsies have as "Alzheimer's."

Curt- I ask you to actually listen to Lead and I through your dogma. You have been minimizing us and our experience of a heart-wrenching episode in our lives. We knew they were going to die of this. And yes, there are some "interesting" moments in keeping them. We're talking almost 20 years difference in the medical capabilities of the drugs used from then to now. Some of which I do know about. Like any other "old guy" drug, (elevated blood pressure, need for statins, pain killers, etc that come with age, especially those of us who got broken in our youth, there are those.

There are few for dementia. and even fewer that can arrest the development of the disease. I always said, "don't wish on your enemy what you wouldn't want for yourself." Who knows, you may be the victim of this. The strange thing is that you won't realise it until you shit yourself, or recognize that a nurse is putting a diaper on you.
