A few comments.

My guess is that I turned it off less than half way through. That 40 minutes equaled about 2.8 Biden speeches.

Very early on, Trump reminded the crowd that he worked hard to develop the vaccines, that he is vaxxed and that he recommends people get vaccinated.

Also, early on, he explained how he would have handled the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

1. He did warn the Taliban that if it violated its agreement with us, "It will be the last thing you do."
2. He said he'd have gotten all of the people out of Afghanistan.
3. Finally, he said, "You bomb the hell our of the air fields."

Again, I disagree with the withdrawal but, if you're going to do it, obviously, Trump's plan beats Joe's debacle.

Who here will even try to defend Joe on Afghanistan?

Empty words from a guy who left the Kurds at the mercy of ISIS. Only a fool would believe him.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on August 22, 2021 1:16 pm

    Fair point.

What kind of person would believe Joe?

  3. by Curt_Anderson on August 22, 2021 2:03 pm
    3. Finally, he said, "You bomb the hell our of the air fields."

So let me get this straight. Would Trump have bombed all the airfields before we got the people out? Or if the Taliban cooperated in allowed people to leave would Trump bomb the airfields then just to be a dick?

  4. by HatetheSwamp on August 22, 2021 2:19 pm

    Curt,

Here in the east, the number 2 precedes the number 3.

    2. He said he'd have gotten all of the people out of Afghanistan.
    3. Finally, he said, "You bomb the hell our of the air fields."

    Believe Joe about what, hts?

I said "Only a fool would believe him" after citing how Trump handled withdrawing from Kurdistan, leaving them at the mercy of ISIS.

Joe lied when he recently claimed to have been opposed to the The Surge which was carried out under Obama. Actually Joe tried to talk Obama down from 100,000 troops to 90,000. It's possible that he personally opposed The Surge but had to go along with it because in matters of most if not all policy decisions, the President and VP are expected to be in agreement, or at least look like it.

So it depends on what you're referring to, hts.

Oops! That last post was me - Donna. Still getting used to Sheri having a signon here.

    HtS,
So unsurprisingly Trump supporters including you would have supported a Trump policy to be a dick.

Trump's scenario would have been that the Taliban lived up to its part have a deal and allowed the withdrawal of people from Afghanistan. Then Trump for his part would simply bomb the hell out out of the air fields out of spite. That would be to make sure that Afghanistan is crippled even if the Taliban is out of power in a short time. In other words, Trump would operate as he normally did in his business dealings, when he screwed over contractors and vendors

Your blindness to reality you don't like is becoming a problem.

Check out your Secretary of State tap dancing over three of Joe's Friday lies.

    Oy.

You need to acknowledge what's real.

"Your blindness to reality you don't like is becoming a problem." - hts

Fuck you. What did I say that wasn't real?

  10. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 9:54 am
Oh don't ever expect pb to point out what is wrong with anything you said. All he needs to do is imply that you are wromng. He needs nothing to back that up. You're just wrong because he says you are. Fucking asshole. He's such a Republican.

  11. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 9:56 am
Just to avert any confusion, that was in fact me, Ponderer, with that last post.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on August 23, 2021 10:46 am

    Donna,

Address the effin lies that Joe's been telling.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to dialog with any of you Swampcult Blue MAGAs. You're ignoring the reality of Joe in the way Joe's ignoring the reality of Afghanistan.

Thing is, Joe can't help it. You can!

  13. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 10:53 am
    *sigh*

Name a lie that Biden has been telling and I will address it, pb.

Which is far more than you ever did during Trump's entire administration containing literally thousands of documented lies he told.

But I'll still do it anyways. Go ahead.........

  14. by Donna on August 23, 2021 10:54 am
I pointed out one possible lie where Biden claimed to have opposed the surge. On a other thread I agreed with you that Biden lied when he said that allied leaders haven't criticized him over his handling of the pullout. In fact I took your side over Curt's.

Tell us what lies you're referring to and I'll give my assessment when I have the time. I'm getting ready to go to work right now.

  15. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 10:56 am
Biden lies. Cough 'em up, pb...........

  16. by HatetheSwamp on August 23, 2021 11:05 am

    Donna,

Look at my link to the video of Chris Wallace interview of Secretary of State Tony Blinen. Wallace illustrated three lies Joe told on Friday. As I saw it, Blinken had no reply. He avoided the question.

Joe effin lied. Real whoppers! I've given vivid illustrations.

  17. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 11:10 am
Why do we ever expect you to explain anything in your own words.

The only thing worse than a flaming hypocrite is a lazy-ass flaming hypocrite. You take the cake, pb.

  18. by Ponderer on August 23, 2021 11:17 am
So Biden told lies. What is your fucking point, pb? If he has told lies, I do not approve of them or of him telling them. I do not excuse or condone them. I acknowledge their existence and I am saddened by them. But I am realistic. I accept that he is a politician and politicians lie. There has never been a one that didn't. Do you actually think that under any presidential administration imaginable that they would be upfront about the shit that ending this debacle was going to turn into?

    So again, what's your point?

Do you think that Biden should resign because of lies that he has told? PLEASE,/i> tell me that's what you think he should do. Please please PLEASE!!!

  19. by HatetheSwamp on August 24, 2021 7:25 am

    So again, what's your point?

    po,

Your post began, "So Biden told lies."

Do us a favor. Rewrite your whole post. Feel free to copy and paste the whole thing...except for one thing. Change the word, Biden, to TRUMP. "So Trump lied."

Then, tell us how you feel about what you've written.

    -----------

I'll repeat my concern about Joe's misstatement of fact. I'm confident that Joe thought that he was telling the truth though he had to have been briefed about what was said in Parliament the effin previous day.

My concern is that Joe's misstatement of fact is the classic behavior of a person suffering from significant cognitive decline.

And, the inability of Tony Blinken to tell Chris Wallace that Joe does know what is going on tells me that Blinken shares my view of Joe's mind.

  20. by Donna on August 24, 2021 7:38 am
Hts: You would have had to drastically increase the troop numbers to accomplish those things.

  21. by Donna on August 24, 2021 7:40 am
    Oops, wrong thread.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on August 24, 2021 7:43 am

    Donna,

Currently, we have 35,000 troops in Germany and 28,000 in South Korea.

    Whose holding protests over that?

  23. by Donna on August 24, 2021 8:20 am
So you believe the situation in Germany is the same as in Afghanistan?

Btw, I think we should disband ALL of our foreign military bases.
