House Speaker Mike Johnson said Saturday he believes Republicans have the votes to launch a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

“I believe we will,” Johnson told Fox News of a GOP-led impeachment inquiry. “I suspect no Democrats will assist in this effort, but they should.”

Johnson added Republicans “have a duty to do this” and “we cannot stop the process.”

He's been adamant. The worst thing for "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" may be the GOP rebellion against McCarthy.

Johnson seems more committed to an impeachment investigation...and, he's in the midst of his honeymoon with HouseGOPs.

  2. by oldedude on December 3, 2023 4:42 pm
Yeah, again. No one has called the house for a process. Ergo, we're in the same spot we were in 10 weeks ago.

OH NO! NOT ANOTHER BIDEN IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY...!!! 🤣

  4. by oldedude on December 3, 2023 8:33 pm
Funny, that's the same thing I was doing when you dims said there was no way not to convict him in every or any court in the land. Now, you're having trouble on every case you've got. And hoping for "civil suits" to call it a win. That's fukking pathetic.

OH NO! NOT ANOTHER BIDEN IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY...!!! 🤣

    Another?

    Gang,

The subtlety is lost on po...

    ...as all subtlety is.

    po,

Previously the party that is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and EFFINfreethinking, couldn't muster the votes to begin an Impeachment Inquiry. FYI, the House didn't vote for an Impeachment Inquiry of Trump. Pelosi foisted those. McCarthy foisted the Biden one, too.

NOW? Johnson thinks the votes are there. Subtle, but huuuuuuuuuge, EFFINdiff!

  6. by Ponderer on December 4, 2023 6:54 am

Look, I actually understand how much this means to you people. Your guy was impeached, twice, for corrupt and illegal things that he did... So therefore it is imperative to you all that you find something to impeach our guy at least once for. It makes perfect sense from your third-grade schoolyard tit-for-tat reflex perspective.

But the big difference between the two situations is that the impeachments against Trump started with the evidence. Massive evidence. Blatant, no-doubt-about-it evidence right in America's face. Evidence that it would have actually been a crime to ignore.

    • The "Perfect Call", in which Trump explicitly broke the law while being recorded doing it, and his subsequent crimes trying to cover it up.

    • His organizing, facilitating, and goading on of a violent insurrectionist coup to overturn the free and fair election results of the last election, as everyone saw him do on live TV.

And the impeachments were based on that evidence.

With Biden, you don't have any evidence. You're still frantically flailing around to even find any evidence. Even after years of Trump administration justice department searching and prodding conspiracy theorists to come up with something they can throw against the wall, you still haven't found any legitimate evidence that Biden or his son did anything corrupt to even get enough Republicans to vote to form an inquiry the first time around. And as I've said, if you ever do I'll be happy to consider it.

But you know what? I wish you guys luck this time. As I said, I know how desperately much this means to you and how much better it will make you feel about Trump bring Biden down a peg or two. If you can.

So you all go right ahead with your inquiry vote. Have at it! I, and every comedian and late night talk show writing staff, hope that you do have enough votes this time. Maybe you can even get a real live Biden impeachment going. You know, to compete with all the courtroom coverage of all of Trump's trials and guilty convictions as they progress.

    Have fun...!

    HtS,
Regarding your post immediately above, I realize you become hysterical when you have absolutely nothing to refute Ponderer. But seriously, is your nervous laughter because you think that there was no evidence worthy of impeachment (or pursuing a criminal case) against Donald Trump or do you think that there is solid evidence against Joe Biden? Or both?

    Please explain your answer.

  9. by Ponderer on December 4, 2023 9:42 am

He won't, Curt. He never explains his idiocy.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on December 4, 2023 9:53 am

Of course, it depends on your definition of the word "evidence." There was highly questionable data against Trump. As far as J6 is concerned, even the Committee ended up fretting over what Trump did NOT do for 187 minutes. Hardly impeachable, eh?

As far as "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" is concerned, if a Impeachment Inquiry against Trump was justified, there's no doubt that an inquiry into the Doddering Old Fool becomes a necessity...IMO.

Perhaps the best indicator that an inquiry into the Former Truck Driver is called for is the fact that Mike Johnson thinks that he's even close to mustering GOP votes.

The GOP is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, diversity and EFFINfreethinking.

Eighteen HouseGOPs in districts that (including the cheating) voted for President Clouseau are facing tough races. That they'd even, as po'd say, EFFINconsider voting for an inquiry is strong reason to think there's there there.

"Of course, it depends on your definition of the word 'evidence.'" -Hate

Oh the standard legal definition of the word works fine for us. It just doesn't for you is all. Which is why I hand others have been saying for quite some time now that you don't have any. By the legal definition of the word. And it's why you and the rest of the MAGA Hats have got to stretch what you do have beyond all credibility to try to make it evidence

"There was highly questionable data against Trump." -Hate

Not really. "Questionable"...? Not really at all. As I already said, it was slam-dunk, blatant, hard evidence. And we'll see how well it all goes toward his eventual guilty verdicts, since the prosecutors are now using pretty much the same evidence against him.

"if a Impeachment Inquiry against Trump was justified, there's no doubt that an inquiry into the Doddering Old Fool becomes a necessity...IMO." -hate

Again, this is your third-grade self on the playground talking. Because you've got nothing like anything in the way of evidence.

"That they'd even, as po'd say, EFFINconsider voting for an inquiry is strong reason to think there's there there." -hate

Republicans voting for this impeachment inquiry is strong reason to think nothing other than they are absolutely terrified out of their skin that the Republican party is about to go the way of the dodo bird in electoral politics in this country.

Here you go, Bill. Mitch McConnell explains what we're talking about pretty clearly for you.....

By the way Bill. I absolutely adore how you have to keep chanting that to yourself over and over and over and over again to try to make yourself believe it. It's certainly not for our benefit, that's for sure. As we have all been totally aware of what flaming bullshit that is for a long time now. No matter how many times you repeat it.

    Liar. How bout ABHOR?

And, of course, you never offer EFFINevidence that pb's wrong.

  15. by HatetheSwamp on December 4, 2023 10:33 am

Oh the standard legal definition of the word works fine for us.

Cept that impeachment is a political, not criminal, endeavor, eh?

  16. by Curt_Anderson on December 4, 2023 10:35 am
    HtS,
Sorry that “evidence” is not evidence worthy of impeachment.

What Comer doesn’t realize (or he realizes that rubes like you don’t understand) is that for his investigation to amount to a case for impeachment, Comer needs to establish a quid pro quo. Namely what policy is Biden responsible for that benefited a foreign entity and was contrary to American interests?

Secondly, whatever “goods” Comer thinks he has on Biden, it needed to have happened while Biden was president, not when he was out of office or earlier.

If taking money directly on indirectly from foreigners was a crime, especially when not in office, then Donald Trump should’ve been impeached before he even became president.

  17. by HatetheSwamp on December 4, 2023 10:44 am

Sorry that “evidence” is not evidence worthy of impeachment.

Are you joshin again? If so, you really don't do it well.

You're the guy who still joins with the claim that the laptop is Russian disinformation, eh?

Thing is...in the end, pb may very well agree with you. It's possible that the evidence, after members of the alleged Biden Crime Family offer testimony, may not be worthy of impeachment. But, buddy, it's worthy of inquiry. Ain't?

  18. by Ponderer on December 4, 2023 10:49 am

I glad you are finally seeing the light. We seem to be making incremental progress in educating you about the law and impeachable offenses.

This week we might find out if Congress thinks that it is worthy of an inquiry.

The House plans to vote to formally authorize the GOP's impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden this week, according to Republicans leaving a closed-door conference meeting focused on the issue.

If Congress votes down authorizing the impeachment inquiry, or if they don't vote at all, that's a good indicator that Congress isn't impressed with Comer's "evidence".

I, "the Oracle of Ashland" (as Indy has dubbed me), predict publicly here and now that the House Republicans will not vote this year to authorize a formal impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden. I have spoken.

I make this prediction even though James Comer said his fellow Republicans have heard from customers at Wal-Mart who supposedly are demanding a formal impeachment investigation. See link.

Hardly a risky prognostication...but the Wal-Mart comment is sanctimonious.
