(CNN)House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy a "moron" after being asked by a reporter about his criticism of the Capitol physician's mask mandate in the House, another sign of the souring relationship between the two House party leaders.

"He's such a moron," Pelosi, a California Democrat, said while getting into her SUV outside the Capitol, when asked about the House minority leader.

    I just don't get why you progressives feel the need to demean people simply because they think differently than you.

    Donna did that to me several times in the last few days. isle does it regularly with me passive aggressively.

    And, now Curt, am I correct that you're applauding Nancy Pelosi for attacking the intellect of a colleague in House leadership? It certainly seems that you are applauding it,...if not celebrating it.

    Denigrating the people who voted for him? I disagree with the people who voted for Biden. But, denigrate? No.

    I do enjoy illustrating indications that his mind's shot such as his remarkable claim to have driven an 18 wheeler.

    You don't intend "blue MAGA" as a compliment to Biden voters. Nor is accusing Democrats of being "fraudulent voters" or "cheaters" any sort of praise.
