by HatetheSwamp on October 31, 2023 2:10 pm In case po objects: But Bill, the problem with your comparison of how the country of Israel is treating the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories to how the Nazis treated Jews during WW2 is that the people of the world at the time had really no idea about how the Nazis were actually treating the Jews in their concentration camps to be able to respond to it. Had they known, there likely would have been much more protest from the rest of the world to stop the genocide and have peace. People of the world have been all too aware of how Israel has treated their Palestinian prisoners in giant concentration camps for many many decades. And the people of the world, excluding the U.S. of course, have been protesting Israel's treatment of the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories and calling for peace for pretty much as long as Israel has existed. But Bill, I really must commend you though for this bold attempt at making an equitable comparison. Although it didn't really work, since you are incapable of doing it, it was possibly your best and closest attempt to construct one to date. Congratulations! Granted, it was "just" a work camp (as po would say) and therefore nothing important. After seeing that, visitors would want to go the Holocaust Museum when I was out in DC. They generally came back fairly shocked by the experience. I empathized with the feeling, but after Dachau, I could only wonder how I would be affected by seeing Treblinka or Auschwitz. Not that I would "like" to see anything like that again, but the effect on your humanity or how you perceive humanity gets pretty well challenged. Later when I was in the Middle East, seeing what po's heros would do, it dawned on me that I was being taught lessons. Each one a little tougher than the last. Thank God for that! Go To Top
