Most of us suspected this..

(CNN)The latest issue of a Batman comic series confirms the Caped Crusader's lovable sidekick, Robin, is queer.

Tim Drake, one of several characters to have taken up Robin's mantle in the comics, accepts a date with a male friend in the new issue of "Batman: Urban Legends," a series that debuted earlier this year.
The issue's final page sees Drake visit his friend Bernard at his home after the two shared a moment of unexpected connection (and Drake, as his alter ego Robin, must rescue Bernard from a villain). In the last panel, Drake tells Bernard, beaming, "Yeah ... yeah, I think I want that" after Bernard asks him out.

Hollywood has been on a mission to ban straight White characters for some time now. There has only been one straight White character in the Star Trek Voyager series.

I am big supporter of capitalists---including advertisers, the news media and the entertainment media---who exhibit and exercise diversity. Business has a vested interest in increasing their customer base. Being inclusive helps their bottom line. That increases the talent pool and makes life better for everybody, especially people who might otherwise be marginalized.

We've come along way from when the only "approved" lifestyle was that of "Leave it to Beaver" and "Father Knows Best". Joe Biden was ridiculed and criticized for saying what I believe is an astute observation:

I’ve never been more optimistic about the future than I am today. I mean that. And the reason is because of this new generation of young people. They’re the best educated, they’re the least prejudiced, the most open generation in American history.

And although I have no scientific basis of what I’m about to say, but those of you who are over 50 — how often did you ever see — how often did you ever see advertisements on television with Black and white couples? Not a joke.

I challenge you — find today, when you turn on the stations — sit on one station for two hours. And I don’t know how many commercials you’ll see — eight to five — two to three out of five have mixed-race couples in them. That’s not by accident. They’re selling soap, man. (Crowd laughs). Not a joke.

Remember ol’ Pat Caddell? He used to say, “You want to know what’s happening in American culture? Watch advertising, because they want to sell what they have.”

Hollywood has adopted a sort of affirmative action for everyone except straight White males, I'm sure because they have the numbers to show that doing so maximizes their profits.

Along that same line of reasoning, I'm sure thatshows like Leave It To Beaver and Father Knows Best also maximized profits. Sitcoms about mixed race families probably would have been cancelled after the first season if they lasted that long, which is why they were never produced.

Btw, it's Star Trek Discovery, not Voyager. Sheri just corrected me.
