Unlike some of his codefendants who opted for a smiling mugshot, Trump went for the scowl. He seems to have leaned into the camera so the sheriff's logo over his shoulder is minimized.

    Apparently that's a fake.

  2. by Curt_Anderson on August 24, 2023 7:51 pm
    Who says?

  3. by Ponderer on August 24, 2023 7:51 pm

I've been seeing this going around. Yeah, Indy!. It doesn't look like the other ones. That sheriff emblem on the wall is too small and far off.

But it's the one that a lot of media sites are putting out.

  4. by Ponderer on August 24, 2023 7:54 pm

Here's this. I guess it's the real one.

  5. by Curt_Anderson on August 24, 2023 7:55 pm
I am not convinced I posted a fake mugshot. See link.

Yeah, you got the real one, Curt.

Trump's own websites are already selling t-shirts with that image on them.

  12. by Donna on August 24, 2023 8:15 pm

If he were feeling confident, he'd show that.

He's overcompensating for a deep fear. He knows that he's guilty of every crime he's been charged with, and he's scared shitless of spending the rest of his life under house arrest or in prison.

  13. by oldedude on August 24, 2023 8:27 pm
He's been coached how to look. He's got people to tell him how to look and what to do. You don't think the timing, location, and all of that wasn't completely set up? That's angry. zero on beaten down, zero on confidence. It's ready to fight. He's been in Hotlanta for two days now. He'll go home, take a shower, and be honestly, a tad frazzled. But he doesn't drink alcohol, so maybe a diet coke to unwind.

I am really having a hard time believing that people don't understand kabuki theater of politics. They actually think this is real.

  14. by Curt_Anderson on August 24, 2023 8:53 pm
    OD,
There is a kabuki theater aspect to politics. But this and other examples of our justice system at work is real. Very real.

Incidentally, the supposed billionaire had to use a bail bondsman for his $200,000 bail. Trump only had to put up $20,000. His fellow defendants are complaining that Trump isn't helping them with their legal expenses. Who will turn on Trump first?

One of the suspects or maybe a target in the Mar-a-Lago documents case, an IT guy, is recanting testimony given to the DOJ. He dumped a lawyer that the Trump's super PAC was paying for in favor of his own attorney, a public defender.

Underling Kenneth Chesebro requested that he be given a speedy trial. The Fulton County judge agreed and ruled that Chesebro will stand trial on October 23 of this year. The trial will likely be televised. The public will certainly hear the evidence in the case. If Chesebro is found guilty or pleads guilty, that makes it very difficult for his fellow defendants--especially any running for public office--to pretend that they are innocent.

    It's real alright.

  15. by Donna on August 24, 2023 10:04 pm

I don't think that Trump takes direction from anyone.

  16. by Indy! on August 25, 2023 12:22 am

They’re already setting up Trump’s escape plan. The Rs will remove the prosecutor with that new law, the Ds will pretend to be outraged and act like they can’t do anything about it and BOOM! Trump gets re-elected. OD is right - this is all just kabuki theater used to help Joe Biden keep the one campaign promise he was serious about… “nothing will fundamentally change.”

This, above all, is kabuki theater. It's like when Palin was assailed with frivolous lawsuits to get her out of the VP position. Once she quit, they magically disappeared or were dropped.

"He's been coached how to look. He's got people to tell him how to look and what to do." -olde dude

Boy, you really don't know him very well, do you, od.

Nobody tells Trump how to look or especially what to do. He does what he wants to do, and if it goes against everything that his paid (hopefully) staff tells him to do, well then they are all wrong and he does what he wanted in the first place. You really haven't been paying much attention. His lone rebel proclivities are a foundational aspect of his entire makeup.

"One of the suspects or maybe a target in the Mar-a-Lago documents case, an IT guy, is recanting testimony given to the DOJ. He dumped a lawyer that the Trump's super PAC was paying for in favor of his own attorney, a public defender." -Curt

A very wise move. Those Trump-paid lawyers that other defendants are using are actually working for Trump, not them. We've already seen how this tactic of his works out.

"The Rs will remove the prosecutor with that new law," -Indy!

Yeah I don't think that law is going to stand up to a lawsuit. FuckingRepublicans. Leave it to them to make laws giving them power to negate the people's elected choice. We've seen that play out several times. GOP governors stepping in and removing democratically elected mayors and replacing them with hand picked "Emergency Managers" and such, making everything even worse. Making laws to negate the people's choice on propositions. Stuff like that.

HolyShit do Republicans ever hate democracy. I think they hate it even more than they do the Constitution.

jjpo #20 is being used here, so I'm just going to give a different view. jjpo- Nobody tells Trump how to look or especially what to do. He does what he wants to do, and if it goes against everything that his paid (hopefully) staff tells him to do, well then they are all wrong and he does what he wanted in the first place. You really haven't been paying much attention. His lone rebel proclivities are a foundational aspect of his entire makeup. I marvel at how naive the left is... They went from looking pretty deep into wrongs, and now they fall hook, line, and sinker for everything they're told.

"One of the suspects or maybe a target in the Mar-a-Lago documents case, an IT guy, is recanting testimony given to the DOJ. He dumped a lawyer that the Trump's super PAC was paying for in favor of his own attorney, a public defender." -Curt I agree with you curt. I saw that and is one of the things I said earlier. People are going to jump ship. I'm hoping they get enough to make the cases go faster than what was expected. Among them is Pence. I think his lawyers are going to ensure he isn't going to be dragged into the whole trumpster thing, on this or any other case. My thought is that trumpster will cop to a plea deal and go back from wince he came.

"The Rs will remove the prosecutor with that new law," -Indy!

HolyShit do Republicans ever hate democracy. I think they hate it even more than they do the Constitution.- jjpo
I don't think they have the votes to do that, and dang sure don't have the stones. Some of these folks are up for election.

jjpo, It's a DANG good thing we're not a democracy! And that's inclusive of the dims also. It's the swampcreatures that are the directors in this theater.

  22. by Donna on August 25, 2023 7:36 am

Even Trump's own lawyers haven't been able to control him.

  23. by Curt_Anderson on August 25, 2023 10:38 am
I have said previously that one of Trump's super powers is his total lack of shame. (Another related super power is his boundless hypocrisy. The New York Times had a good example of that: "To Trump, Foreign Business Is Scandalous, Unless It’s His Own")

Normal people would be ashamed to be booked, fingerprinted and have their mugshot taken. I would be curled up in the fetal position if I were arrested--guilty or not. It's humiliating and embarrassing; not something to promote on t-shirts and coffee mugs.

Speaking of Trump's lack of shame, did you see how Trump self-reported his description? 6'3", 215 lbs. (the sane as Muhammed Ali in his prime, in 1966, see link), blue eyes, blonde or strawberry hair.

What sort of man describes their hair color as "strawberry"? A tinny pale pinkish yellow dye job is a more accurate description.

  24. by Indy! on August 25, 2023 11:20 am

It would be more accurate to describe his complexion as "strawberry".

  25. by oldedude on August 26, 2023 10:47 am
I almost forgot. trumpster has ALREADY started selling mugs (from his Mugshot), Tshirts and other paraphernalia on his website! The picture WAS staged for a specific reason!
