curt's going to be tickled pink! In addition to the rape trees, there's this. Welcoming them in to the good old US of A! Oh, this is directly related to pedojoe and Mayorkas(See the second cite of the post).

Mayorkas told USBP to ease up on checking large employers for fraud and abuses in the system (Ibid.)

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) blasted Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a public hearing on Capitol Hill and accused the Biden administration official of implementing policies that caused “modern-day indentured servitude of minor children” within the United States.

Hawley cited two New York Times reports from February and April that stated 85,000 unaccompanied children who had crossed the border illegally and were taken into custody during the Biden administration had been released to fake adult sponsors who forced them into horrific living situations.

“In 2021, you made the decision to change Title 42 to allow unaccompanied children to come into the United States and then to be sent into the interior of the country," Hawley said. "Under the last administration, children were reunited with their families in their home country. You changed that, and as soon as you changed it, the numbers exploded.”Italics

Feds bust ‘modern-day slavery’ ring amid new immigration enforcement effort

Two dozen people were indicted in Georgia last month on charges of smuggling Mexican and Central American immigrants to the United States and forcing them to live in camps and work on farms in the state in what authorities say was an illegal enterprise akin to “modern-day slavery.”

The collaborators of the ring are accused of taking advantage of and defrauding the federal visa program for guest farmworkers, known as H-2A, to bring immigrant workers from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and other countries to the United States.

At least two workers died under the working conditions, another was repeatedly raped, while others were kidnapped and threatened with death, according to the allegations in the indictment. Workers were also forced to work at gunpoint, the court documents say, earning 20 cents for each bucket of onions they dug up with their hands. Some were sold to farms in other states.

The defendants face charges that can carry up to a life sentence.

In October, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued a memo directing immigration authorities to cease the massive worksite raids that were used as an enforcement tactic under then-President Donald Trump.

Mayorkas said the tactic, which led to the arrests of sometimes hundreds of unauthorized immigrants, was not focused on “exploitative employers.”

This operation illustrates ICE's effort to further focus on aiding immigrant victims and cracking down on employers who take advantage of visa programs and unauthorized workers, said two ICE officials who are familiar with the case and the shift in priorities and who asked not to be identified because they were not permitted to speak publicly.

This is a UN report that covers the global rings and issues. Just an FYSA.
Migrants and their Vulnerability to Human Trafficking, Modern Slavery and Forced Labour

The report explores various sites of vulnerability where migrants are particularly susceptible to human trafficking, forced labour and modern slavery. These include private dwellings, border crossings, irregular migration routes and conflict zones. The report illustrates that migrants are most vulnerable to exploitation in situations where the authority of the State and society are unable to protect them. It also analyses the characteristics of victims that are thought to contribute to their vulnerability. In addition, the study explains some characteristics of offenders, including worldviews that allow them to rationalize the exploitation of others. Lastly, the study looks at examples of enabling environments or contexts, such as restrictive immigration policies, that engender or exacerbate vulnerability.

Prepared for the Alliance 8.7 Action Group on Migration, the report examines the recent research literature through a crime prevention lens in order to identify a set of salient features that can help understand the relevant connections between migration and vulnerability to forced labour, human trafficking and modern slavery.

Well again - as ALWAYS - the two parties are working together to eviscerate child labor laws (and child predator laws)...

    Indy,
I don’t know that both parties are doing it, but child labor laws are being repealed in Republican-led Midwest states, including senator Josh Hawley’s Missouri.

    Indy!,

Interestingly, just a few days before you returned, I was reminding Curt about how you thoroughly schooled him and embarrassed him over Hillary cheating her way through the 016 Dem Primaries to be nominated over Bernie.

    Good times!

Curt - A lie of ommission is still a lie. Why aren't the Ds doing anything about all these transgressions of the Rs since they've been in charge this whole time? That is - if they really cared? I could go thru your list of "Biden's achievements" and point out how every single one of them is more of a gift to the GOP and the wealthy than anything to help average Americans. That is - of course - the ones that aren't outright horse hockey of the most malodorous kind. They're just standing by as the Rs eviscerate everything the left gained over the years when they had (and have) the power to do something.

As curt was gleefully lusting after the rape trees, then there's this. What you both have avoided is the lack of attention to unsupervised/ unattended children that you said were "illegal" to keep from their attendants (coyotes, or slavers). These children (also asian. You both know, where you get your manny peddies done) are used the same way the sex trade is. I know neither of you care, but that's the reality of the situation that I've been called stupid for even thinking that exists (by both of you). curt, you especially, have been steadfast in your refusal to stop this. depenti hasn't been seen in awhile (what a fukking relief). Your complete loyalty to the presidential pedo has supported this without wavering. This is NOT just up to the congress. Your presidential pedo reversed the trumpster era restrictions to your glee. The cages immigrants were obomber era cages, then restarted by the presidential pedo.

Your link is pure nonsense, Curt. I debunked all that stuff back in 2016 multiple times for you. One thing I don't think I mentioned however is the incredibly obvious - the rules were not changed in any way for Bernie as they were for Hillary. The caucuses, etc... that you seem to think "favored" Bernie simply because he won them were run according to the same rules they've had for decades before Hillary or Bernie. And when you complain about Bernie winning fair and square according to the legitimate rules of the game - you put yourself in the same category with the nincompoops who complain Hillary "actually won" in 2016 because she won the popular vote when that is not how our elections are decided.

    OD,
Legislation to crack down on companies’ use of child labor has gone nowhere and currently has little Republican backing.

You probably heard about the fight that Joe Biden had with the Republican controlled House over the national debt and budget. Democrats’ efforts to increase funding for federal agencies to provide more support services to migrant children who cross the border by themselves face long odds in the House, where the G.O.P. has pledged to slash agency budgets.

Except as I noted, in some Midwestern Republican run states child labor is already illegal. If America puts up more obstacles and impediments to migrant children and their parents, that does not prevent children from being exploited and abused outside of our borders.

Good lord, Curt - do you ever read anything about what's actually happening in this country? Biden's "bipartisan agreement" is exactly the kind of thing that proves to the two parties are only one. Biden pretends like he needs to "compromise" to raise the debt ceiling when the very notion we need to "raise the debt ceiling" was an invention created merely to cut government services back thru "compromise". The people with student debt have to start paying back again and the interest they were told was NOT going to accrue during the covid grace period is now going to be added on top of the original debt too. That's just ONE of the onerous "compromises" Biden made to pass something that would have been passed anyway if... HE JUST DID NOTHING. Clinton did it in the 90s and who got blamed? THE GOP. Newt Gingrich lost his job for it and - not to point out the INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS AGAIN - Joe Biden was a member of that CONgress so he knows he could have done it too.

You're kidding me right? You didn't know there were federal child labor laws? And requirements to report?

This is a direct result of your love for open borders and not checking to see who is taking kids into their possession. What was a liberal talking point about "splitting up families" was complete BS. It's the way they sell these children in to slavery.

According to the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA), which is the federal child labor law in the United States, children under 18 years old are generally prohibited from working in hazardous occupations such as mining, logging, and operating heavy machinery1. The FLSA also limits the number of hours that minors can work based on their age and whether they are in school or not. For example, children under 16 years old can work up to 3 hours per day and 18 hours per week on school days and up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week on non-school days2. However, some states have their own child labor laws that may be more restrictive than the federal law.
