Below are two links to the text of the indictment. I found it easier to read on my laptop than on a smartphone.

If you ever wondered what the expression "hoisted by his own petard" means, this indictment is it. The indictment uses Trump's own words against him. There are recordings of Trump's own self-incriminations. There are photographs by his co-defendant Walt Nauta of classified documents spilled onto the floor. There are text messages that document Trump's efforts to obstruct justice. There are damning notes by Trump's lawyers that are evidence against him.

Trump is facing the possibility of decades in prison. If I were Trump's lawyer I'd advise him to plead guilty and agree to house arrest at Mar-a-Lago for the rest of his life. Either that or got on his jet and flea to Russia or Saudi Arabia.

You understand, ain't?, that an indictment is a one-sided account of events coming from the prosecutor...whose task it is to portray the defendant in the most negative way possible. Right?

You two are behaving as if this is the verdict of a jury of Trump's peers. C'mon man, gimme a break!

That notwithstanding, everyone here knows that I think Trump is despicable. Still, as despicable as he may be, "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" as po'd say, EFFIN stole classified documents when he was a Senator. That's established fact. He retained documents he never had any right to possess. And, stored some classified documents in his garage, beside his hotrod.

The Biden administration will always be guilty of persecuting Trump...until the Doddering Old Fool is also indicted. Charges of Joe running a Banana Republic will last until the end of time without Joe being indicted.

    Plain. Simple.

    HtS,
You still have not read the indictment, have you?

The damning evidence in the indictment are Trump's own words, incriminating recordings and photographs and testimony from his own staff and lawyers.

Trump is scheduled to speak today at the state G.O.P. conventions in Georgia and North Carolina. No doubt he will present his side of the story.

Please share on these pages all of the exculpatory evidence that Trump presents. Remember what about Hillary/Joe Biden/Hunter Biden is not a legal defense.

Yikes. Curt! When has any defendant, as po'd say, EFFIN ever offered a defense prior to arraignment!!!!!? What's wrong with you, man? No. Don't bother. This irrationality is classic TDS.

You are taking the accusations in the indictment as established fact, not one-sided accusations. You want to believe the worst you can about Trump. I get it. Nuthin new.

But. It's still only the charges being made by a prosecutor who's been tasked with getting Trump. Sadly for you...

...can you imagine the political explosion that will take place on the day when Clouseau's Special Prosecutor announces that the Former Truck Driver won't be charged with any crime, even though he was in possession of classified documents he could only have possessed because he stole them?

Jonathan Turley suggested yesterday that, after he's nominated, Trump'll be able to run on pardoning himself from all federal charges. That might win him the election.

BTW I've linked to RSBN coverage of the Georgia rally.

Donald Trump constantly at public appearances, on videos, on his Truth Social pages. I am not saying it's a good defense, but it's a defense that's aimed to influence cultists like you.

Btw, your insults about Joe Biden's mental state undermine your claim that Joe Biden "stole" classified documents. Look up "mens rea" if you don't what it means. It's why neither Mike Pence or Joe Biden will be prosecuted for having classified documents.

If you're watching the Georgia speech, you know Trump has read the indictment. He ain't guilty.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on June 10, 2023 12:38 pm
I watched a few minutes. He engages in the same whataboutism argument you make, with accusations against Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, etc. He also said Jack Smith is deranged and a Trump hater.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on June 10, 2023 1:22 pm

To my ear, the loudest applause was his promise to end the participation of men in women’s sports and the prohibit the sexual mutilation of children...both issues the Former Truck Driver is weak on.

"Yikes. Curt! When has any defendant, as po'd say, EFFIN ever offered a defense prior to arraignment!!!!!?" -Hate

Ummm.......... Trump does it every time he declares that he is innocent. His defense that he is declaring to the world is that he didn't commit any of the crimes they've got him dead to rights committing. Apparently. I'm with Curt on this one in that I don't think it's going to work too well for him either. The indisputable evidence and all you know.

"You are taking the accusations in the indictment as established fact, not one-sided accusations." -Hate

No, we are taking established facts that are being used as damning evidence against Trump as fact.

"If you're watching the Georgia speech, you know Trump has read the indictment. He ain't guilty." -Hate

Now Bill, are you quoting him concluding from the indictment that he ain't guilty...? Or are you saying he ain't guilty? 'Cuz you shoulda used quote marks if it's not you saying he's not guilty.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on June 10, 2023 3:22 pm

    po,

I was summarizing what Trump said about the indictment. You two are taking every word of the indictment as gospel truth. I was seeming to do the same with Trump which, if I'd been sincere and not mocking you, would be equally silly.

  10. by Ponderer on June 11, 2023 6:26 am

Then you should have put quotation marks around his statements. That's all I was saying. Thanks for clarifying.

So you read the indictment. What utterly damning facts that it presented do you think should possibly not be taken as the facts that they demonstrably are?

  11. by Ponderer on June 11, 2023 6:32 am

...But then again... putting quotation marks around "He ain't guilty" doesn't make sense that it was what he said.

I guess what you should have done was to say he says he's not guilty.

'Cuz when you just say, "He ain't guilty", it appears that it is your sentiments that are being expressed. Not his. Or that you are agreeing with those sentiments that he expressed. Which would make sense since you support him so much.

I get it. You're covering your ass for letting your true feelings out a little there. Don't worry. I won't hold it against you.

I have not been following this thing in any way at all and could not care less what happens either way. But I still stand behind the same predictions I've been making probably since Trump was first elected (or at least for the 6 or so years the "walls have been closing in" on him. 🙄

    1) Trump will never be convicted of anything.

    B) If by some miracle he is Biden - or whoever is president at the time - will pardon him "for the good of the nation".
