It's on TV now. This is producing a lot of good sound bites.

One of the Capitol policeman who was being questioned by Rep. Liz Cheney told her that everybody there, who he termed terrorists and rioters, said they were sent by Trump. He said they were not Antifa, not Black Lives Matter, not the FBI or anybody else...they were all Trump supporters. He laid the blame with Trump for being the instigator and who later didn't do anything to stop it.

He said "Trump wants the job [of president] but doesn't want to do the job".

I'm concerned about you TDSers. This has to be like giving a case of Dom to a wino.

There is a limit to Republicans' cognitive dissonance...present company perhaps being the exception.

The House Select Committee Hearing, which is a serious affair, was broadcast live this morning on the cable news channels including FOX News. Fortunately we were spared the distraction of the shirt-sleeved antics of Jim Jordan and his ilk.

It will be difficult for Trump-cultists to hear the Capitol cops' testimony about the Trump-supporting insurrectionists armed with guns, bear spray, flag poles and make shift weapons and simultaneously believe Sen. Ron Johnson who claimed the rioters were unarmed and others who claim they were mostly peaceful.

It will be difficult to believe these 1/6 terrorists were "loving" "tourists" after hearing the testimony and the video clips of the vile, hateful language directed at the Capitol police and members of Congress.

Some Trump-voters will continue to deny the obvious. Some will continue to spin. But some who watched won't be able to hide from the truth.

Cept that far less than one percent, probably waaaaay less than one percent, of the people who attended the rally participated in the ugliness at the Capitol.

Those who did not take part in the crime are not being charged.

But, they are typical of Trump's supporters. The morons who assaulted the Capitol ain't.

"far less than one percent" --HtS

How do you figure, HtS? The crowd size estimate of the Capitol insurrectionists is about 9,000 people. The Department of Justice has arrested more than 535 people for taking part in the January 6 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol building. Those are only the culprits who have had their significant criminal activity documented with video and had their faces recognized. Many of the insurrectionists hid behind masks. There are many more people beyond those arrested who were violent and destructive who haven't been identified yet.

That's at least six percent of the rioters who we know of.

    Curt,
I think what we’re going to see, even should Trump not be indicted for incitement, is that he will be indicted for conspiracy and obstruction. He’ll be charged as a co-conspirator in an attempt to stop, delay, or hinder Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote.

    9 effin 000 "insurrectionists?"

I think you need to think about your definition of "insurrection."

One of the testifying Capitol cops, Harry Dunn, likened the insurrectionists and Trump to a hit man and the person who hired the hit man. Officer Dunn said the hit man is charged but so to is the person who hired him. Some of the mob has been arrested. It's important to also charge whoever sent the mob there.

I think with all the indisputable evidence they have against Trump, such as his calls to the governor of Georgia, his intimidation of Pence, etc. they have a very clear cut case of seditious conspiracy (trying to impede the principal function of our democracy) in this case actually try to prevent the representatives and senators from certifying the election results. Seditious conspiracy carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison. A lesser charge that could broadly apply is the federal rioting statue, which states that if you participate in, incite, or aid and abet a riot, you can face up to five years in prison.

Curt and isle, you are too funny. You're like two addicts enabling each other.

Everyone agreed, from the moment the Capitol riot happened, that it was an atrocity. No one supports the rioters or the riot.

You are both losing the plot in the same way pondy went bonkers even before the prosecution was finished in the Chauvin case. Join the lynch mob. String im up!

What's missing here is the counterpoint that would be presented through the questioning of the loyal opposition.

The genuine tragedy is that, because Pelosi diddled with the GOP membership of the Commission, you can't if there's a counterpoint or not...

...and, people on the edge with Trump can't know either.

If Trump's at risk here, Pelosi's overplaying of her hand helps Trump. If, after Jim Jordan took his turn, the independents concluded that he got nuthin, Trump would be in trouble...

    ...but, alas.

So, go ahead. Watch. Wallow in TDS! Get your rocks off.

This is as real as ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
