I don't care what anybody says. Trump's trials won't help his poll numbers.

We don’t really know Joe Biden or Donald Trump. Maybe we should listen to those who do.

The final tally for the vote was 314 to 117. There were 149 Republicans and 165 Democrats who voted for the bill and 71 Republicans and 46 Democrats who voted against it.

Bottom line: Joe Biden campaigned on being a uniting leader who'll serve all Americans. He's turned out to be the most divisive President in my lifetime. Kevin McCarthy is the uniter "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" lied he'd be.

"He's turned out to be the most divisive President in my lifetime." -Hate

Well, given how much of your life seems to center around deranged hallucinations, I wouldn't be too concerned about it because that isn't true. If you recall, you were quite alive during Trump's administration. But I'm not surprised that you've blocked that out. May of us have tried to do the same thing to no avail.

"Kevin McCarthy is the uniter [Biden] lied he'd be." -Hate

So... Biden lied that McCarthy was a uniter...? Which McCarthy then turned out to be...?

I actually paid McCarthy a complement in another thread for getting his part in this done. Somewhat surprisingly and miraculously I might add.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on June 1, 2023 7:14 am

No. Poor grammar. Sorry. "That feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" lied, saying he'd unite America. McCarthy is actually doing it.

  3. by Ponderer on June 1, 2023 7:22 am

Yes, I suppose it could be said that McCarthy united us.

    But it would be wrong.

Biden was leading McCarthy around like a dog on a leash. And to McCarthy's credit, he went along with it is all.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on June 1, 2023 7:30 am

And, you still say subjectivity ain't truth.

This has been all McCarthy from the moment "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" demanded a clean bill with no negotiation.

    Facts. po.

  5. by Ponderer on June 1, 2023 8:03 am

    Uh huh.

You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you on the nose. Your subjective reality has very little to do with objective reality, Bill. You really ought to know that by now.

I don't dictate objective reality by any means. But what I say in here comports with it to a far greater degree than any of the hallucinatory ramblings you treat us to on a daily basis. While your subjective reality has pretty much nothing to do with it. For example,

"the GOP is the home of openness, inclusion and acceptance, diversity, tolerance...and EFFIN FREETHINKING" -Hate

I mean THAT was a freaking doozie! 👍

“This has been all McCarthy from the moment [Biden] demanded a clean bill with no negotiation.” —HtS

Biden played McCarthy and the Republicans. “Demanding” no negotiations IS a negotiating tactic.

It’s like the car salesman telling you that he cannot go lower on the price then reluctantly relents and pretends to plead in your behalf with the manager behind the wall. He then comes back with “good news”. You think you won because you got a slightly lower than list price. The salesman really won because he sold a car.

Biden also leveled the playing field by saying he wasn't going to negotiate, since the MAGA Republicans had said as much themselves.

Biden played the whole thing like an experienced pro. McCarthy played it like he was just cooperating with his own rescue during a ship sinking.

    Really? I hadn't noticed.

Just curious. I think I know what Good Germans meant by "Jews." What, exactly is a MAGA Republican to you?

Deplorables. You know, the sorts of people who take joy in seeing elderly people fall.

    Curt,

When my dad's gait had degenerated to the point Joe's is at, we wouldn't let him walk without a cane...because we loved him and cared about his well-being.

Since I brought up Joe's cognitive issues, I've been saying that I think Jill should be busted for elder abuse. She should be.

  12. by Ponderer on June 1, 2023 4:52 pm

And you should be busted for impersonating a human being, Bill.

  13. by oldedude on June 1, 2023 7:41 pm
It's going to take 2/3 to get through the Senate. Just throwing that out there.

  14. by Ponderer on June 2, 2023 7:29 am

And more than 2/3 of the Senate threw it right back at you, od. In record time no less.

  15. by Ponderer on June 2, 2023 7:34 am

"What, exactly is a MAGA Republican to you?" -Hate

It's really quite simple. Just as "GOP" or "Grand Old Party" is a different name for the Republican party, so is "MAGA Republican". And currently, it is the most accurate name for them.

I mean no disrespect. I simply strive for the greatest accuracy in my writing.

  16. by Donna on June 2, 2023 7:37 am

    Od: No, not 2/3.

The compromise debt ceiling bill passed the Senate by a 63-36 margin, enough support from Democrats and Republicans to overcome the chamber's 60-vote threshold to avoid a filibuster.
