Walker checks a lot of the Republican candidate boxes:
Conservative, check.
Celebrity, check.
Friend of Donald Trump, check.
Exaggerated financial success, check.
Turbulent personal history, check.
Personality disorder, check.

(wsbtv) Herschel Walker was a football hero at the University of Georgia before his long NFL career. He’s a business owner whose chicken products are distributed across the U.S. And he’s a Black conservative with backing from former President Donald Trump, a longtime friend.

Walker, now 59, has at times been open about his long struggle with mental illness, writing at length in a 2008 book about being diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, once known as multiple personality disorder.

An Associated Press review of hundreds of pages of public records tied to Walker’s business ventures and his divorce, including many not previously reported, sheds new light on a turbulent personal history that could dog his Senate bid. The documents detail accusations that Walker repeatedly threatened his ex-wife’s life, exaggerated claims of financial success and alarmed business associates with unpredictable behavior.

He'll fit in well with the demented, doddering denizen of the oval office, eh?

    Bahahahaha, ahhhhhh!

    Perfect symmetry.

Wow. Interesting article, Curt. I can see why he and Trump are friends. They have the same gross character flaws.

Since Walker has been diagnosed with disassociative disorder, then perhaps that's what Donald has had all along. Or perhaps disassociative disorder is just a fancy shmancy name for Republicanism.

    Two comments, Donna.

Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, as is Liz Cheney.

How you can suggest that mental deficiency is solely a GOP characteristic, when you yourself brazenly voted for Joe Biden, smacks of a hypocrisy that is beneath you.

As you know, both political parties were very different animals back in Lincoln's time.

Liz Cheney is a traditional Republican. Many traditional Republicans have left the party since it morphed into the party of Trump. Thanks for catching my error. I should have said that disassociative disorder is a fancy schmacy name for Trumpism, not Republicanism.

How pathetic that Republicans have to go back 150 years to find an example of a decent Republican. Lincoln wouldn't have anything to do with today's Trump-infested Republican party.

    MANY?

    Donna,

That's not what I'm seeing. Even the perverts in The Lincoln Project are fighting to salvage the GOPs.

And, certainly, Liz Cheney is still a GOP.

Most assuredly, the GOP is the place to be for a person who cares about political integrity. The ideological battles are intense and real. GOPs can, with tribute to Fleetwood Mac, go their own way.

No one in the GOP, even that great narcissist, Donald Trump, would dream of saying, in this decade,"I am the Republican party," as Clouseau has said as a Democrat...and Curt defends Joe, bahahahaha.

Biden was just stating a fact. The president automatically becomes the leader of his party.

  8. by Curt Anderson on July 24, 2021 11:35 am
... it's not as if Joe Biden said something ridiculous like "I alone can fix it".

You're right, though - DT has never claimed to be the Republican Party. Actually he's gone beyond that. See link below.

    Donna,

Have you, along with the rest of the progressive world, lost your ability to think critically?

Joe didn't say, and repeat, that he is the leader of the Democratic Party.

He said, "I AM the Democratic Party."

    Big difference!

And, all y'nes just roll over!

    Donna and Curt,

All three of us share the same opinion of Donald Trump...as would isle if he were around today.

What good to your cause can you possibly imagine you're doing by comparing Biden to Trump!!!!?

    Rhetorically, you're fighting against yourself.
