Many people with dementia become confused and believe things that are not true – known as ‘false beliefs’ or ‘delusions’. The other night Trump was firehose of falsehoods and demonstrable lies.

His "logic" left a lot to desired too.

During the CNN townhall, Trump was asked by Kaitlin Collins about his failure to deliver on his signature promise to voters in 2016 — that he’d build a wall stretching across the southwestern border of the United States.

“I did finish the wall,” he said, just a few beats before adding that Biden could have easily and quickly completed the stretch that still hasn’t been built if he’d cared to. The statements contradicted each other. They made no sense.

    Curt,

I doubt anyone can honestly watch and listen to Trump without seeing how out of touch with realty he is. Whether it is age related dementia or personality and character flaws that often become more pronounced as someone gets older I don’t know. But he seems to be blissfully unaware of his own obvious lies, or in his mind at least, people will believe whatever he tells them so truth simply doesn’t matter.

Yikes, isle. Oy, are you effin wrong.

As you know, I despise Trump. I hated his performance on Wednesday. But, I've been monitoring right-wing media. It's still exploding from Wednesday. You'd think that Trump just won the 024 election in a landslide.

Florida House GOP Byron Donalds was on a CNN panel after the Town Hall. He said that Trump won the evening because Collins didn't allow discussion of the issues that genuinely concern voters. He said that more than 20 minutes of the show was on 020 BECAUSE COLLINS BROUGHT IT UP AND WOULDN'T DROP IT.

His point is that you progressive SwampLovers have a narrative that's out of touch with the electorate. I think he's right.

Like it or not, CNN probably clinched the GOP nomination for Trump...

...and may, very well, have won him the election.

Has anyone ever noticed how many people actually pay to go see something unusual, basically for the entertainment value it can provide! Remember the carnival tents with the wild-man from Borneo or the bearded lady? Not that you’d ever vote for them to be president!

Trump is an entertainer just like them.

Take some deep slow breaths and relax Hate. 🍻

While Trump it can be fun to watch Trump make a fool of himself and in effect his supporters as well, if Trump is the Republican nominee, when it comes time to vote, just like they did last time, people will remember all of this and be reminded of it.

    Other investigations proceed apace.

”The signing of just three enormous bills—the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, the roughly $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure law, and this summer’s climate-and-health spending bill—made Biden’s first two years among the most productive of any president in the past half century. The initial pandemic bill, also known as the American Rescue Plan, was about the size of Barack Obama’s two biggest legislative achievements—his initial economic stimulus package and the 2010 Affordable Care Act—combined. The legislation sent $1,400 checks to Americans across the country, nearly doubled the child tax credit, shored up state budget accounts, and funded testing, treatment, and vaccines to fight the pandemic. The politically named Inflation Reduction Act is actually the largest climate bill in U.S. history and allows Medicare to negotiate the prices of certain prescription drugs for the first time.

Beyond those headline bills, Biden more quietly amassed a bevy of smaller legislative wins, often with bipartisan support. A modest gun-safety bill expanded background checks (although not universally), made it easier to prosecute illegal gun trafficking, and provided federal funding for so-called red-flag laws. Congress also passed the CHIPS Act to boost domestic production of semiconductors, a long-stalled postal-reform bill, substantial military aid for Ukraine, and a reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act—all with fairly broad support from both parties. Biden’s executive actions on student-loan forgiveness and pardons for marijuana possession answered a pair of progressive demands.”

isle and other SS progressive SwampLovers:

This is an example of what's going on post-town hall in the right-wing media...and, from a guy who's fairly reasonable. Most of what's out there now is much more aggressive.

    Watch three minutes.

Trump is being hailed as a conquering hero.
