My sense is that it irritates the progressive SwampLovers here when I point out that the GOP is the home of openness, inclusion and tolerance, acceptance, diversity and FREETHINKING. To be honest, usually I do that to rub your noses in the companion truth that the Dem party and its fascist locksteppers...all of you here...aren't evolved and spiritually mature enough even to want to participate in an open, inclusive, tolerant, accepting, diverse culture peopled by freethinkers.

But, today, all of those qualities of GOP-ism work out in a different way.

Today, the party that is the home of openness, inclusion and tolerance, acceptance, diversity and FREETHINKING is in a tizzy in a way the Dems haven't been since I was a Dem and the Dems were the home of openness and inclusion, tolerance, diversity yada yada Yada.

It's all about Tucker. GOP chaos is unusually energized today.

To define basic terms: What's at stake here is the GOP Swamp, the GOP SwampMedia in general, the antiSwamp and, of course, Trump.

THE HILL has and article that touches on some of the basics.

Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), some of the staunchest conservatives in the House, were among those who tweeted that they “stand” with Carlson as some Republicans worried about the direction of Fox News, which had already seen viewers turn against them in the aftermath of the 2020 election.

But for Republicans who disagreed with his populist and sometimes conspiratorial bent – let alone those who were the target of it – the surprise of Carlson’s exit was met with a sense of satisfaction.

Republicans who disagreed with him and chose to engage had on-screen clashes with Carlson. Last year, he argued with former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) on vetoing a bill to limit access to gender-affirming medical treatments for transgender youth. And he sparred with Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) over Ukraine and immigration.

This is a tough one for ol pb. He didn't like Tucker's show and he often disagreed with him but pb knows that Tucker achieved freethinking to a degree almost no one ever has. And, pb admires that.

pb's guessing that Fox will suffer from dumping Carlson. Much of what remains at Fox amounts to nuthin but mouthpieces for the GOP Swamp. For pb, this is a bad thing.

Interesting, chaotic times.
