Florida. Tennessee. Indiana. Alabama. Mississippi. Arkansas. Tennessee, again. pt reports 3,000 bills just in 023, and it's still early March!

So far, pt declares these measures to be "fascistic and disgusting." po?, po has become a first-class purveyor of eff bombs. Curt? isle?, nuthin beyond vague comments that they sympathize with the LGBT community.

Intellectually? Philosophically? These LGBT community arguments leave me unconvinced.

The laws are passing by huuuuuuuuuge margins and are, according to polls, extremely popular.

So, why should reasonable people oppose what's happening legislatively in many of the US states?

As you should notice, the arguments are nothing but deflective. They argue we are "homophobic." When in fact, we argue about children and the right to protect them. Don't let this confuse anyone. That's why I haven't posted much on this. It's the same deflection they often use. Change the subject to a point they want to argue, become hysterical. If they stay on this point, they know it's lost.

But then again, your children (or in our cases grandchildren) are not yours. They are the governments' to raise. Damn the torpedoes and take all the children! like they do in China. Teach them to hate the Uighurs because that's what the government wants! Have them turn in their parents to be murdered because that's what the guv'mnt wants! Yeah, that's the ticket.

Thanks, OD. I'd noted your relative silence. I was hoping, a bit, that you might provide me with something reasonable to justify opposition to this building tidal wave of legislation.

I don't know about you but, in the real world, we are very close to and deeply love a lesbian couple and are close to one other married lesbian couple. Their sexuality is not an issue for us. We ain't homophobic. In fact, the first couple is written in our will...not that there's much there.

Incidentally, I suspect that one of the two couples may very well support the legislation that has been passed in Florida, Tennessee and Indiana. The other is probably telling DeSantis to go eff himself on a daily basis.

I'm posting these threads because I see this legislation being a top five issue in the 024 General Election. It's all politics to me...

...and being told that I'm fascistic and disgusting, a theophobe who should eff himself ain't moving me...and I can't see it as an effective argument to reach mommies and daddies and nannas and pappaps in the suburbs in the next election.

"Intellectually? Philosophically? These LGBT community arguments leave me unconvinced." -Hate

Well as any attempt to ever convince you of anything you have already made up your mind about, based on nothing but lies and paranoid delusions you made the decision to put so much stock in, I will not be making any attempt to waste my time doing so here. This is basically why I already told you I am not interested in even discussing this subject with you. Plus I am sick and disgusted with your inhuman ugliness.

There is no convincing you assholes that no one is "grooming" any children. With the exception of Catholic priests for the last several centuries or so perhaps. You won't ever and have never accepted any evidence that anyone has ever shown you about pretty much any subject that ever contradicts your beliefs in delusions and lies once those delusions and lies have been cemented as your reality. So there's no point in my wasting the time. I'm even pissed at myself for wasting as much time as I did typing this.

So you two bigoted delusional assholes go right ahead and circle jerk yourselves to your hearts' content...

  4. by HatetheSwamp on March 11, 2023 9:47 am

There is no convincing you assholes that no one is "grooming" any children.

Apparently you know a lot of people.

You won't ever and have never accepted any evidence that anyone has ever shown you about pretty much any subject that ever contradicts your beliefs in delusions and lies once those delusions and lies have been cemented as your reality.

Yeah, well, not me. My subjectivity is my truth. I've always been open about that.

The question here is what you can say to the people who support the new laws in Florida and Tennessee and Indiana, etc.. Assuming that I really am the bigoted Christian theocrat you accuse me of being, gotcha. I'm a lost cause.

Still, po. When I read about the debates over "Don't say gay," and Tennessee and Indiana and all the others, I think Donna represents your side's argument accurately. The arguments against the the bills are that they are "fascistic and disgusting," and, like you, your side calls DeSantis, and the overwhelming majority who support the laws bigots who just need to go eff themselves.

    Here's what I think:

You'd better hope that you're wrong. If there's that much homophobia in America, you'd better find a new home. Mind you, I don't think there is. But, if you really believe yourself, tuck tail and effin run...before you're hung from a tree.

181 Teachers Charged With Sex Crimes During First Half Of 2022
Issues in the public school system are perpetually worsening. One disturbing area seeing record reporting involves child sex crimes. According to information released by the federal Department of Education nearly a decade ago, 1 in 10 students are sexually abused in school, today, that statistic is likely higher. Two months ago, as schools across the nation were winding down, we reported that 135 teachers in 2022 alone were charged with sex crimes against students. Today, that number is much higher, with now at least 181 teachers having been charged in the first six months of the year.

In just two months, 46 more teachers have been charged with child sex crimes across the nation. More instances are likely, but have simply not been discovered yet. This tracking is made available in reports from Fox News. These charges all contain horrific allegations all against minors ranging from rape to child pornography. This includes all types of educators, including principals, teachers, substitutes, aides, and other school personnel.

Of those documented in the report, the arrests that were made between January 1st and June 30th contained four principals, 153 teachers, 12 aides, and 12 substitute teachers. Overall, the majority of the child sex crimes (77%) were against students the perpetrators knew. While there is a growing trend depicting how females are committing these crimes more and more, the majority of these new arrests (78%) were males.

These are some examples in 2023.

Houston middle school teacher accused of sexually assaulting students
Prosecutors allege the teacher coaxed the 13 and 14 year old students with trips to the mall and to a waterpark.

A former Houston ISD middle school teacher is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting at least two of her students, ABC 13's Mycah Hatfield reported Tuesday night.

Destinie Hillsman, 25, was arrested in October 2022 and charged for relationships with two of her Holland Middle School students earlier that year, according to ABC 13's Hatfield.

Prosecutors said in charging documents that the victims of Hillsman's assaults were 13 and 14 years old when authorities investigated the case.

Hillsman allegedly assaulted the 13-year-old victim repeatedly during the summer of 2022, according to Hatfield. Charging documents state the teacher brought the 13 year old student to the mall, a waterpark and a movie before bringing the student to her home and getting into bed with her.

California ‘Teacher of the Year’ hit with 14 charges in child sexual abuse case

A teacher in National City who won a “Teacher of the Year” award last August was arrested and booked into county jail for her “inappropriate relationship” with a 13-year-old former student, police said.

Jacqueline Ma, 34, was a teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary in National City — just south of San Diego — where she taught fifth and sixth grades.

But on Monday, a “concerned parent” reached out to the National City Police Department saying she was afraid her 13-year-old was being treated inappropriately by Ma, according to a news release.

It took just a day for detectives to develop probable cause to arrest the teacher.

Mexia High School teacher accused of sexually assaulting student arrested

MEXIA, Texas — A Mexica High School teacher has been arrested for sexual assault, according to a joint press release by the district and local police department.

Roselynn Castillo, 33, is a resident of Mexia and a teacher at Mexia High School, according to the Mexia Independent School District.

Castillo is being charged with Sexual Assault of a Child and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, both 2nd Degree Felonies, according to the Mexia Police Department.

Castillo was taken into custody Wednesday without incident and transported to the Limestone County Jail in Groesbeck, Texas, police said.

Married Teacher Sexually Assaulted Boy, 13, Then Threatened to Harm Herself and Him if He Told

A former Pennsylvania middle school gym teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of statutory sexual assault after abusing her 13-year-old male student, her lawyer confirms to PEOPLE.

Rochelle Cressman, 33, was charged in 2019 with more than 60 counts including 10 counts of statutory sexual assault, 10 counts of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse and 42 counts of indecent assault of a person.

The Titusville Area School District teacher was accused of having sexual contact with the student at least 10 times beginning in September 2018 and ending in April 2019.

    From msn.com, no less.

Exactly. And, even if the grooming of children was not a serious problem, parents have an absolute right to demand that Big Brother, through public schools, should never stand between parent and child.

Note. This report concerns PUBLIC schools. Who knows how many secretly gay Roman Catholic priests are molesting private school students!

Bottom line. I'm still waiting for any rationale to oppose the laws...apart from the accusation that to support them makes one a homophobic theocrat.

"According to information released by the federal Department of Education nearly a decade ago, 1 in 10 students are sexually abused in school, today, that statistic is likely higher." --OD

I am skeptical of that statistic. At least to the extent that there is the implication that 1 in 10 students are sexually abused by teachers.

Sexual abuse is often defined as coerced sexual activity, sexual activity when there is age difference of more than four years and/or a power difference. The definition of sexual abuse is defined further as being both contact and non-contact. That latter includes peeping toms.

Although estimates vary across studies, the research shows:
About 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys in the United States experience child sexual abuse.
Someone known and trusted by the child or child’s family members, perpetrates 91% of child sexual abuse.

Most often, sexual abusers know the child they abuse but are not relatives. In fact, about 60% of perpetrators are nonrelative acquaintances, such as a friend of the family, babysitter, or neighbor.
About 30% of those who sexually abuse children are relatives of the child, such as fathers, uncles, or cousins.
Strangers are perpetrators in about 10% of child sexual abuse cases.
Men are found to be perpetrators in most cases, regardless of whether the victim is a boy or a girl. However, women are found to be perpetrators in about 14% of cases reported against boys and about 6% of cases reported against girls.

    Ummm................

...NONE of any of what olde dude posted had anything to do with the subject of LGBT students or teachers. Or grooming.

Geez I don't even have to argue with you assholes. You lose your own arguments all by yourselves.

Sexual abuse does not necessarily involve grooming. It can, but it doesn't have to.

Again, grooming is more like what Catholic priests do to young boys.

So far you idiots haven't presented why any reasonable people should support the recent sadistic and draconian measures that any of the insane states are enacting to restrict LGBT activity.

  11. by Ponderer on March 11, 2023 6:26 pm

Here you go, Bill and od. This is real simple. It's just some basic, demonstrable facts that there is no need for anyone to argue over.....

    * * * * IRREFUTABLE REALITIES TO REMEMBER * * * *

    • The idea that anyone is "GROOMING" students in public schools to be transgendered, or to be drag queens, or to be gay, or to be lesbian... Let alone that such a thing is any part at all of any public school curriculum... is complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

    • You are ignorantly swallowing and believing totally baseless, make up, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

    • Certain Republican politicians want to scare you into voting for them by making paranoid, trans/homophobic conservatives believe that they will save them all from this 100% fictitious, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

    • The entire trans community in this country is going to be grievously harmed by this inhuman, sociopathic, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

    • There is no evidence and zero examples whatsoever you could ever provide to support any of this ludicrously cockamamie, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

    • You are disgusting, despicable, unamerican bigots who don't have the slightest care at all who gets hurt by this hallucinatory, evil, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

So far you idiots haven't presented why any reasonable people should support the recent sadistic and draconian measures that any of the insane states are enacting to restrict LGBT activity.

So, there you go again, po. The people supporting these pro-family laws aren't reasonable. The huuuuuuuuuge majority supporting the legislation is "fascistic and disgusting," "bigots" and "theocrats" who should go eff themselves.

The truth is that one has to splain why reasonable should support these bill/laws. By the tens of millions, people are lining up in support of them.

I thank you for adding to the inventory of adjectives y'nes use to describe the legislation.

    Fascistic. Disgusting. Now: Sadistic. Draconian.

You know about Don't say gay. What about it and the Tennessee and Indiana laws that I've been reporting is, in truth, sadistic and draconian? I don't see it.

I think that OD's bang on. And, he's restating what I've said from the beginning. Much of this legislation is merely intended to restrict Big Brother...a double whammy for you.

I wonder if the Big Brother part doesn't hurt you as much as the limitation on the potential for trans recruiting and drag queen outreach to toddlers.

Anyway. I think that your side's rhetorical problem is that you don't argue against the laws. You attack the people who support them...and, in vicious ways.

    That won't help you.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on March 12, 2023 4:48 am

Thanks a ton, po, for engaging in the conversation. Clearly, I have some disagreements. But, at least, a conversation is happening.

    • The idea that anyone is "GROOMING" students in public schools to be transgendered, or to be drag queens, or to be gay, or to be lesbian... Let alone that such a thing is any part at all of any public school curriculum... is complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

Libs of TikTok proves you wrong several times in most weeks.

Based on the dictionary definition of grooming, i.e., "the practice of preparing or training someone for a particular purpose or activity," grooming does take place.

In terms of winning the political debate, this argument can't win for you. Here's why. If the grooming isn't happening, WHY OPPOSE THE LAWS? WHY INSULT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT THEM?

If what you claim is true, it would be logical for you simply to roll your eyes over this legislation and ignore it because it's much ado about nothing.

    • Certain Republican politicians want to scare you into voting for them by making paranoid, trans/homophobic conservatives believe that they will save them all from this 100% fictitious, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

I'm sure you honestly believe this but, in the post-pandemic age with the Big Brother oppression of the shutdowns and mandates,...OD and pb agree that this legislation is at least as much about Big Bruh-run public schools as it is about trans recruiting. It's a liberty thing, not a theocracy thing. One reason you're in bad shape in this debate is that you're being forced to promote Big Government when most people don't want that.

    • The entire trans community in this country is going to be grievously harmed...

Bingo. I think you're probably exaggerating but, po, THAT'S BEEN MY POINT TO YOU FROM THE BEGINNING! And, trust me, po! If you keep up with the second part of the quote, i.e., "this inhuman, sociopathic, complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT," you are INVITING that backlash. THAT'S BEEN MY POINT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!

  14. by oldedude on March 12, 2023 5:53 am
I'm going to squirrel for just a second to show (again) that regardless of gender and gender preference, groomers have been and are around their preference. In my post #6, there were examples of grooming. Adults grooming children to talk them into sex. That's grooming. By definition.

At the bottom was a woman. On March 9, Jacqueline Ma, a teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary, who was re-arrested just two days after bailing out of jail. Ma was first arrested on Tuesday on several charges of sexual misconduct with a child under 14-years-old.

National City Police detectives said their investigation into the case continued and developed probable cause to re-arrest Ma on an additional felony charges.

Ma, an elementary school teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary in the National City School District, was charged with six felony counts of sexual misconduct with a child under 14, including lewd and lascivious acts and oral copulation, according to the San Diego Sherriff's Department.

According to records from the San Diego Sheriff's Department, Ma was booked on 14 new felony charges including:

    - Two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14-years old
    - Seven counts of possession of obscene matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct
    - Four counts of knowingly developing, duplicating, printing or exchanging child pornography
    - One count of intimidating a witness or victim

Ma's gender- female. Ma's gender preference- children (pedophile).

    Another example also in #6
Destinie Hillsman, 25, was arrested in October 2022 and charged for relationships with two of her Holland Middle School students earlier that year, according to ABC 13's Hatfield.

    Groomer's gender- Female. Victims- children/females
In this case, depending on the maturity of the victims, could either be a pedophile or gay. For legal purposes, they are children.

    po and OD,

I think that it's worth noting that, in Florida, ALL teachers in early school years are forbidden from discussing issues of sex. The Florida law doesn't focus on the LGBT community.

Don't you think it's telling that only LGBT people are appalled by the law?

  16. by oldedude on March 12, 2023 9:09 am
That's been my thought all along. With all this reporting, I'm wondering if we're just hearing more? or is there more, or both?

In the articles I found, only one may have been considered possibly gay. Like we've said over and over. It's not about the LGBTQ+ community, it's about access to the kids and not telling the parents what's going on.

  17. by Ponderer on March 13, 2023 8:19 am

The unanswered question? Why are LGBT people and LGBTphiles opposed to, especially, the Florida law?

This is still an important irrefutable fact that you need to remember, Bill. Try not to let your knee-jerkingly responsive dependence on your hateful, bigoted hallucinations rush you to obfuscate and deny such a fact. Along with all the other irrefutable facts that I posted for you. They are in fact facts regardless of how cavalierly or idiotically you automatically blow them off.

I've always welcomed you two assholes to present even a single example of this bullet-pointed thing that you and all the other willfully ignorant transphobes' hair is on fire about ever occurring, yet neither you nor anyone else has ever been able to do so. Ever. And this is simply because of the fact that you can't show evidence of something occurring that in fact has never occurred.

Yet my community is on track to have its civil rights curtailed because there may be enough hateful paranoid bigots like yourselves in this country believe this complete and totally bigoted propagandist BULLSHIT.

  20. by oldedude on March 13, 2023 10:12 am
At this point, who would be stupid enough to file charges on a trans? That's political suicide for a district.

Po. Read above. For the fifth (maybe sixth time?) I've laid out the isssues.

    1. teaching elementary schools kids the sexual education that was proposed (and that we've talked about, cited, etc)
    2. hiding what their child is doing from the parents
    3. Hiding what the teachers are doing in school from the parents (again, these have been cited and talked about already
    3. The books that were initially suggested (and were illegal to read because it violates obscenity laws).

Florida ONLY permits sex education above the FOURTH GRADE. Not forever.

My view is that if a parent is NOT ALLOWED to participate in school functions, I have a moral objection to that. This is a "Grooming issue." And as I cited before, it encompasses all genders and gender preferences. What the exact makeup of this is? I don't think there are any numbers. But you are starting to see strange things happening. We're seeing females as pedophiles. That used to be rare.

I understand that I haven't covered YOUR issue. Honestly, I'm far more worried about the others around more. So you're trying to sucker me into a conversation that I'm not getting going to entertain for the reasons above.

Nor have you covered the topic of this thread at all. Every one of my bullet points actually does that. I have answered the title question of this thread quite directly and simply.

    po,

At best, and assuming that you're a reasonable person, you're providing no rationale at all to oppose those measures. You're claiming that there's no need for these laws...

...but not that there's a single d@ng thing wrong with the laws.

The silence of your un-LGBT SS colleagues on this question is deafening.

    Why oppose the laws? Crickets.

    You? You're angry.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeally angry. And, the question of why demands an answer.
