HtS, OD,
I hope you guys don't blame me for this disappointing (to you) news. I indicated that Radar Online was the purveyor of falsehoods and unconfirmed rumors. 🤣

Hunter Biden paid $50,000 in rent for office space in DC, not to his father to live at Delaware home
The figure in question — $49,910 — matches the quarterly rent for office space at House of Sweden, home to the Swedish and Icelandic embassies on K Street in Washington, D.C.

Business records show that an office for Rosemont Seneca Advisors, an investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden, was located there.

House of Sweden pointed us to a spokesperson for Sweden’s National Property Board, who confirmed to PolitiFact that Hunter Biden paid $49,910 in quarterly rent for an office space in House of Sweden.

Our ruling
Conservative commentators and social media posts claim that Hunter Biden paid Joe Biden $50,000 in monthly rent to live at the same Delaware home where classified documents were found.

This is wrong. The figure refers to quarterly rent Hunter Biden paid for office space in Washington, D.C., a spokesperson for Sweden’s National Property Board confirmed.

We rate this claim False.

    pb has two comments.

    1. He held off on posting this until he found it reported in the progressive SwampMedia.

    2. You've burned us with false reports from progressive fact checkers too often. I stopped believing this crap. I'll wait for it to come up in the hearings.

  2. by Ponderer on January 21, 2023 6:32 am

    Jesus fukking god, Bill.

Curt has burned YOU with false reports??????????

You have been coming in here for years on a near daily basis flogging baseless, flaming bullshit nonsense based on whatever idiotic and delusional, laughable excuse for "news" sources tell you whatever you want to hear, and you have the unmitigated gall and boundless mendacious hypocrisy to castigate Curt for presenting facts that blow up the mass delusion with reality you have been giddily participating in?

You are a Deplorable of the worst Republican kind, Bill.

You are simply loathe to ever be proved wrong and corrected. Your bloated, gas-filled ego will simply not allow it.

"[Hate] held off on posting this until he found it reported in the progressive SwampMedia." -Hate

You mean until legitimate media sources reported that RadarOnLine.com was reporting it. The MSM didn't confirm the story. They simply reported that this one "news" source had reported it. And now we find that that one source was in fact wrong.

"Wow! There must really be something to this story if main stream media sources are reporting that some obscure and questionable source reported it!" -Hate's Excuse For Logic

pb linked to MSN. Check his post.

  5. by Ponderer on January 21, 2023 11:07 am

And all MSN was doing was reporting that RadarOnLine.com was reporting it and what they were saying. In fact, all they did was re-post that site's whole article. RadarOnLine.com was the initial source.

A dubious source's report doesn't become irrefutably true just because other, more reputable media outlets simply report that that dubious source is reporting it.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2023 11:27 am

    Right, po.

And, if only Fox and the Post and the Federalist and Townhall.com had mentioned the report, pb'd a just let it go. But, that didn't happen.

"Well, for one thing, po, if the report is true, Joe lied on his taxes. It's a matter of simple arithmetic." --HtS

I believe you are suggesting that Biden didn't declare $50K per quarter in income. The most likely scenario is that Joe Biden had leased space in the Swedish Embassy building for $50K per quarter perhaps intending it for whatever he might have done after his life in politics. Maybe Joe considered practicing law, starting a foundation or being a lobbyist.

Plans change and he ran for and was elected president. So he didn't need the space. He rented the space out to his son for what he paid. That's not income.

On another issue: Being a critical thinker includes being able to discern reliable news reports from bullshit.

"Citing" MSN.com is like citing Google News or citing The SelectSmart.com Post as your "source". Those two websites like this one are news aggregators. We don't do original reporting. Like MSN, when anyone here on this site posts about any news story, it's really saying "so-so news organization reports that..." not that SelectSmart.com is confirming it.

In fact below every article posted here, there is this caveat, "The views and claims expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views and beliefs of SelectSmart.com. Not every statement made here can be assumed to be a fact." I also include a place for "Cited and related links:".

MSN.com and Google News probably have an advanced algorithms to select the stories they publish. On this site you, the members here, choose the stories you post. Below our masthead it says "comments posted organically". There is a subtle joke there. The top of this page says "The SelectSmart.com Post" Said aloud that's The SelectSmart Compost. Get it? Compost is organic.

Curt, it was Hunter Biden who rented the office space for the company he co-founded.

The only thing that attached Joe Biden to any of this, apparently, is certain aspects of DNA that the two men share.
