Yeah.... you and I don't claim we're vegan. I know I wouldn't in a million years. And there's nothing wrong with either. Truthfully. I always ask with people eating at my house where I'm expecting them to eat the food I prepare. If you have a restriction, great. I'll cook for that. It sounds like you don't have a meat or pig restriction. Okay. I can cover that. What about shellfish or peanuts? Lactose? One daughter in law is Jewish. We accommodate her and her daughters easily. I asked her if she wanted the dishes scalded. Why? out of respect. I am willing to do that, and I think it's a necessary human trait now.
Okay, that said. If you pronounce yourself something, Then I "assume" there is a core issue with that. And if there is no issue. If you make me go through a bunch of crap to cook for you, it's completely disrespectful for you to lie about that. Like you say, and I think is true in this respect. If you say there are no restrictions, I am going to "assume" there are none. I think conservatives are much more prone to "assuming" you're a omnivore. I'm also dealing with if a cow is raised and slaughtered while grass feeding, if everything you have on the table is organic, and "if" it fits their eating style (which changes day to day).
