The entire Daily Show segment at the link below is funny as well as informative, especially the comedy sketch during the last 6 minutes, but he exposed some things about Kari Lake (starting at the 1:40 mark) that probably most Americans aren't aware of, like the fact that she used to be an Obama-supporting Democrat who was described as a liberal by people who know her personally, and is personal friends with a drag queen who she posed with in a photo.

IMO, Kari Lake is pretending to be a MAGA because she sees that as the easiest way to become governor of Arizona.

    So, Donna. Define MAGA. "That feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" declares himself an expert, able to distinguish Mega and Ultra from mere MAGAs and MAGA Republicans from garden variety Republicans.

    If you hope that, once she's in office, Lake's going to show herself to be a true follower of The ONE?, restrain yourself just a wee bit.

    Even when pb voted for OrangeMan in 016, he was far from being antiSwamp. pb grew. He evolved. He achieved a great level of enlightenment. Many, tens of effin millions have.

    Sneer at Lake, as you Blue MAGA Swampcultists do, but I think that Lake will behave like a genuine and radical fighter against political elitism.

    And, as it's likely she'll be elected, we'll get to see together.

    If Kari Lake is elected, I agree with you that she'll continue to parrot Trumpisms (which is what I mean by being a MAGA) if she wants to get re-elected.

    Like many people (Tulsi for instance), saw the liberal hypocrisy and chose to get out of it. It was either you or your wife that was very much a Christian too, right?

    I was a dim until the 1990's. I initially was a dim because it was safer in my hometown.

    Then I got to Europe for four years during Bader-Meinhof era. Then in ROK when the north infiltrated the south not once, but twice, and President Park Chung-hee was assonated. Then some time in Central America.

    I was done with having to apologize for being a dim. I grew up and actually studied the Constitution (my major). What I learned was the dims/ liberals were FUBR. I changed parties and kept studying.

    She was in media before, right? Did she do what she was told to do to get viewers as directed by the "bosses?" Isn't that why she left?

    Why do you (pl) find it absurdly comical that someone might have shared your views at one time and then grown beyond those beliefs?

    From what I can tell, Lake has grown on a path similar to my own. To be antiSwamp is, first, to be disgusted with the established political culture. I think that Lake is truly disgusted. Notions of progressivism or conservativism or libertarianism follow far behind.

    By why do you laugh at people who were once like you and have moved on? Seriously.

    Of course people change their minds, even politically. I'm just not buying that Kari Lake has, at least not in the dramatic way she supposedly has. It happened too abruptly and too drastically. I think she's one of those people who will say and do almost anything to acquire power and wealth. IMO.

    I'll grant that Lake is a bit odd and hard to figure out. Enigmatic.

    It's what we do with those people serves as a bit of a Rorschach test. It says a lot about us.

    Some people change political parties because of a sincere evolution in their thinking. Ronald Reagan was a Democrat and Hillary Clinton was a Republican I suspect that Kari Lake is a cynical, political opportunist. I don’t believe for a second that she believes any of the rigged and stolen election BS that she spouts.

    I agree with you about Curt, OD. His starting point on vote fraud is to bust a gut laughing and, when he catches his breath, to demean and to mock the people who take it seriously.

    It hardly makes him objective.

    And I have actually read up on her and she QUIT a good paying job that was in violation of her ethics (because they were owned by the sheep), and she was having to report false information. mmmmmmmmmm........... maybe you want to rethink your position?

    You seem to think she sacrificed herself by quitting her TV gig. She didn't.

    News anchors in Phoenix make between $51K to $84K. Good but less that the $95K the AZ governor is paid. In her case if she lost the election or after her term of office, she'd be shoo-in to land a job at FOX News where'd she really score a big salary.

    I don't know the specific claims that Lake is making about the 020 election but I do know that nearly half of likely voters and more than half of likely GOP voters believe that there was significant fraud in the 020 election...

    ...and that you have never been able to take that seriously.

    I have never said that the election was stolen but I can see how a sincere person could genuinely believe that it was. That you can't do that says a lot about you, even if you disagree with that sentiment.
