According to Carlson, the whistleblower substantiated their claim by providing information that absolutely proves that the spying is taking place.

I'm going to make a point from this that I've had in my mind for a while but not expressed here:

No one with a brain and an ounce of objectivity believes that Clouseau is really functioning as President. That being the case, the question becomes, Who is the defacto President of the United States?

In my opinion, there's considerable evidence that Barack Obama is the person running the Executive Branch.

This spying on a journalist/commentator prominent among the opposition is classic Chicagoland political thuggery traceable to the, in his own way, great, Chicago Mayor, Richard Daley and, beyond him, and ultimately, B. H. Obama.

The spying on Carlson, which is hard to doubt if what he claims is true, stinks to high heaven with the peculiar stench of Obama. It contains the DNA of Chicagoland corruption.

Joe's a crook but he's not the hooligan that The ONE is. And, Joe's brain is too far gone for the perverted and demented doddering old fart from Delaware to scheme with this degree of corruption.

No, this is Chicagoland political thuggery.

What would be the point of spying on Tucker Carlson? Would they catch him saying something more stupid and unpatriotic than he says on his show? He's a guy who says the FBI was behind the Jan. 6th insurrection and told viewers to call the police on parents whose children wear COVID masks.

What possibly could spying on Carlson reveal that is more discrediting than fact checkers are already doing? None of which has a major adverse impact on his rating.

Tucker reported that the whistleblower said that the goal of the spying is to get the show taken off the air.

It is the top rated cable news show. It is very anti Clouseau.

As far as fact checkers are concerned, I don't think Snopes is scaring many viewers away. Bahahahaha!

With an off year election on the horizon, removing Carlson, or discrediting him, would definitely help the Swampcult Blue MAGAs, ain't?

I get that the supposed goal is to get Carlson off the air. That's why I asked: what could spying possibly reveal that is too stupid and unpatriotic for his viewers to swallow?

More likely this is ploy by Carlson to increase his viewership among the gullible.

A disclaimer: I don't watch Tucker. I'm not a fan, though I do acknowledge that, for cable, his ratings are immense.

    Curt,

I think that the goal was to convince the powers that be at Fox that Tucker's show is no longer viable...for THEM.

Carlson replaced Bill O'Reilly who was dropped by the network, despite immense ratings.

I think the sense is that Rupert Murdoch has stepped back and has turned the network over to the kids and that they could be pressured to drop their top rated show.

Wasn't O'Reilly dropped because of an internal sexual harassment claim(s)? If by "viable" you mean ratings (and what else is there? Certainly being credible isn't prerequisite on FOX), those are already known.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on June 29, 2021 11:57 am
    Curt,

You are correct. With O'Reilly, it was a #MeToo issue. Still, as far as I know, O'Reilly has not been charged criminally. The management of Fox made the decision to fire O'Reilly.

    HTS,
In that case, maybe Tucker is trying to distract from some O'Reilly-like accusation against him that are coming down the pike.

He claims that it had to do with a future story they're working on.
