We don't know the future, but we can analyze the past. Polls are a trailing indicator, usually a few days behind poll numbers. Of course the hearing were never the only news of the day or week.

At any rate I present this chart, which comes from RealClearPolitics's 2022 Generic Congressional Vote for your own analyses. The blue line represents Democrats and the Republicans are red. The blue arrows represent to the dates of the hearings.

1. June 9, 2022. Witnesses, most of whom are Republicans, and some Trump loyalists. Footage of the attack. Testimony from a documentary filmmaker and a member of the Capitol Police.

2. June 13, 2022. William Barr testified that Trump had "become detached from reality".

3. June 16, 2022. Examined how Trump and others pressured Vice President Mike Pence using John Eastman's fringe legal theories as justification.

4. June 21, 2022. Election worker Wandrea "Shaye" Moss. Election officials from Arizona and Georgia who testified they were pressured to "find votes".

5. June 23, 2022. Focused on Trump's pressure campaign on the Justice Department to rubber stamp his narrative of a stolen election.

6. June 28, 2022. Cassidy Hutchinson

7. July 12, 2022. Roger Stone and Michael Flynn connected Trump to domestic militias.

8. July 21, 2022. Evidence and details of Trump's refusal to call off the attack on the Capitol.

After the charade lizzie borton had, it will die as it's supposed to. A Kangaroo third world shthole court session where everyone knows what will happen and nobody cares.

If they were serious about this, you need to compare it to the rest of the network TV. I'm betting "As the World Turns" will do better.

My guess is that the tonight's hearing itself won't be a blip.

Here's how you can tell that you have TDS: You're thinking about Trump at all at the moment.

Except for holding his rallies, Trump's lying low now, presumably until after the election. Actual campaign news is driving the cable networks...except for the TDSers. Baseball playoffs are going on. Thursday Night Football, if you can watch it.

The new TV season has geared up. The hearings aren't up against reruns.

And, while the Trump obsessed think that the hearings matter, antiSwampers mock them as a fascist Show Trial. The 70% in between don't care either way.

    Having said that,...

...in the unlikely event that something newsworthy comes out of the hearings, in the days that follow, maybe there'll be a blip from the coverage.

But, every time people buy groceries, they know what they think this election is about. Gas prices are rising. And, in this election, Trump's not on the ballot.

The Committee is making a compelling case that Trump was derelict in his duty to stop the January sixth insurrectionists, protect the Constitution and permit peaceful transfer of power. His inaction was an affront and betrayal of democracy. Many members of his cabinet and staff were appalled that Trump instigated and wouldn't stop the riot.

I suspect that the Democrats running for office will make the case that democracy is important and worth preserving despite the MAGA Republicans efforts to undermine it. Democrats will also remind voters how Republicans only pay lip service to the police they pretend to support as demonstrated by their minimizing of the attacks on Capitol police.

    Donna,
Trump won't comply but he won't be able to resist responding with something self-incriminating.

Oh how the TDSers have fallen, eh, Curt? It was not so long ago that J6 Committee groupies had it a slam dunk that OrangeMan planned an insurrection. Bahahahahahahahahahaha!

    Donna,

Clay and Buck have been musing about this, as has that gay Guy Curt'd never heard of.

With the GOPs all but a done deal to win the House in November, no doubt this Congress will end before it can happen...

...everyone over here seems to acknowledge that Trump may want to do it and fast track his appearance.

That might be the biggest hoot in the 233 year history of our government, eh?

pb thinks that your ilk is deranged...and there's nothing pb can do for you.

One of my closest friends, who's be a source of wisdom in my life since we were teens, reminds me often, "Be amused, not annoyed."

pb's choosing to be amused. It works.

Alex Jones was amused by the court's decision to fine him nearly a billion dollars in the Sandy Hook defamation case.
