"President Biden spoke with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Tuesday evening, shortly after the governor said during a press conference that Biden had not yet called to discuss Hurricane Ian.

DeSantis during a press conference earlier on Tuesday evening said Biden had not called him, but the Florida Republican lauded Biden’s approval of Florida’s emergency declaration in a rare show of praise.

“I’m happy to brief the president if he’s interested in hearing what we’re doing in Florida,” DeSantis said.

(Previously, Biden) held calls with the mayors of Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater to discuss the potential impacts of the hurricane across the state."

That is one of the reasons DiSantis is so popular here. He knows the protocol. He plays the game. The Governor has to request the feds to come in.

Usually, the President's staff will call a governor every day, or every other day to make sure everything is taken care of, or at least make nice with the state. I'm not sure why biden hadn't been talking with him. pedojoe could've been scoring some much-needed points with the citizens of the state. I see FEMA stuff all over the place, especially this morning. That's a good thing.

My biggest issue is pedojoe calling mayors of the cities. That has been his MO since he got in to office if he doesn't like the governor. What's bad about it, is the cities get what they need from the governor. That's the way the EMS works. It's done so the EMCC can see and put together issues and preplan on the go. It's also a kick in the teeth to the governor. That's nothing but a political stunt.

The Biden administration is inept...and partisan and spiteful. Joe is, exactly, "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."

Where are you in Florida? Did you evacuate?

"A Florida Democrat who identified himself as one of the recently posted videos on social media in which he praised Governor Ron DeSantis for his handling of Hurricane Ian and declared that, as a result of the way DeSantis handled the crisis and relief efforts, he would be switching parties and supporting DeSantis in the upcoming election.

In the video, the man disputes a recent anti-DeSantis media report’s allegation that aid to the town of Arcadia had been suspended until DeSantis dealt with the damage.

However, in a less offensive manner than the man from Arcadia, DeSantis’ staff also reacted to the ABC article. In a tweet, it stated what it had done.

For reference, an ABC document captioned “Civilians furious as relief operations paused while Governor Ron DeSantis toured hard-hit Arcadia.”

According to the report, people transporting supplies back and forth were frustrated as their relief efforts were halted while Governor Ron DeSantis visited the neighborhood.

People quickly reacted to the video on Twitter by endorsing DeSantis and criticizing Democrats.

“The majority of the country is like these people, but if you look at the MSM, you’d assume the reverse,” stated another, claiming that many Americans share their sentiments.

And someone made the interesting observation that DeSantis is now only working to support Floridians, not to get votes, noting that he “isn’t doing anything other than working for the folks of Florida.”

DiSantis has been asked several times by every outlet that has interviewed him about Biden "not supporting DiSantis or Florida. In every interview it has been the same. "The federal government has given us everything we requested. The folks from FEMA have been here for years and know us, and we know them. I also want to thank the states that sent National Guard members including our own Florida National Guard. Also helping us are the members of the Confederate Navies [several states may have one or two separate groups that show up to disasters. They show up with their own fuel for vehicles, food, water, etc so they don't impact the rescue efforts in the area] and Project Rubicon [same thing regarding the gas, food, etcetcetc].

I don't believe joe had that much to do with the rescue (now recovery) of the areas. That said, if everything that is asked for is here, Joe gets the kudos.

Ron DeSantis has the capability of standing above all the petty squabbling. Something neither Trump nor "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" can do.

I agree with that. His phrasing is also interesting. But that's why he's good. He's being ruthlessly attacked by Charli Crisp. But Crisp also said that he "doesn't need any vote from a Trump supporter." He may want to reconsider that since he's 11 points down in the polls.
