Hear her in a video in the twitter link below.

On the Catturd podcast, Marjorie Taylor Greene said the GOP is the party of Christian nationalism and Christian nationalist policies “serve everyone.”

Greene: “Republicans need to prove to the American people that we are the party of …Christian nationalism.

I have never heard of the Catturd podcast. I suspect that it's not the place to hear scintillating political discussions.

    She is definitely as much of a wackadoodle as is AOC. Ain't symmetry grand!

    I don't think there's an equivalent to MTG or Lauren Boebert on the Dems side. You might disagree with AOC -- I don't agree with everything she's said -- but she clearly isn't a wackadoodle.

    A couple of months ago, I challenged Hts to give me an example of something AOC has said that is on par with the absurdity we almost hear daily from Ms. Greene, and he just ran away.

    I think AOC is attacked mainly because of her voice which has a sort of childlike quality.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on July 20, 2022 12:07 pm

    And, lest you forget. What?, two, three days, ago?, we chortled over AOC arguing that the Senate should not permit the Supreme Court, of a separate, co-equal branch of government, to make decisions about abortion?

    MTG certainly has peculiar beliefs. But, at least she knows enough about the Constitution not to say something as ignorant as that!

    Heck, when I was a kid, you couldn't pass 8th grade Social Studies being as ignorant as AOC is!

    It's a good thing for her that she's a babe!

  4. by Donna on July 20, 2022 12:58 pm
    "And, lest you forget. What?, two, three days, ago?, we chortled over AOC arguing that the Senate should not permit the Supreme Court, of a separate, co-equal branch of government, to make decisions about abortion?"

    Of course I didn't forget. I disagreed with her on that.

    You're just gaslighting. That's all you have? LOL.

    AOC attended Boston University where she double-majored in international relations and economics, graduating cum laude. That's better than I did in college. She isn't a stupid person.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on July 20, 2022 1:04 pm

    Sorta makes one question BU, eh?

    And, yesterday?, faking being in handcuffs,...until she decided to do a fist pump. Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh! Or, didn't they show that where you get your news?

    The woman is a moron, and a phony and a liar. A total fraud.

    I don't defend MTG. I have at least a shred of integrity.

    You? Uh uh!

    "A couple of months ago, I challenged Hts to give me an example of something AOC has said that is on par with the absurdity we almost hear daily from Ms. Greene, and he just ran away."

    Lead, this is one of those traps she and her wife think up. There's no correct answer that she will ever admit to. It's a question of perspective. To them, any perspective other than theirs is absurd and stupid. Oh it make them hate you too because you have the audacity to "challenge" them or their thoughts.

  7. by Donna on July 20, 2022 2:32 pm
    I don't hate any of you. Maybe you're projecting.

    What I asked Hts to do, namely back up his claims, was reasonable. And he still hasn't. How is that a "trap"?

  8. by oldedude on July 20, 2022 2:44 pm
    It's your normal one sided conversation based on your projection of reality. You don't have to accept anything anyone says. Just like, "I disagree with some of the things she says," without elaborating. That leaves you open to lying. Ergo, it's when someone's wife asks, "do these pants make my ass look big?" It's a trap.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on July 20, 2022 2:49 pm

    And one thing I have learned. Conservatives discuss. Liberals hate. Just like I was simply explaining something that I would at work describing a methodology, and you went ballistic. I guess I could say that because in that environment, I don't have to go in to detail and waste everyone's time. And since this is a political forum, I would expect some knowledge in political and economic theories.

  11. by Donna on July 20, 2022 2:53 pm
    I can assure you that everyone is invited to take part in my "one-sided conversation".

    You still haven't answered how asking Hts for something to back up his assertion is a "trap" - not that I expected to you. What I expected is what I got, which was just more of your usual whining when you don't have a leg to stand on.

  12. by oldedude on July 20, 2022 3:07 pm
    Back on subject.

    This is an example. It is the preamble to the American Legion Constitution, created in 1919 in Paris after WWI. The American Legion, a non-profit organization of U.S. war veterans. The organization was formed on March 15, 1919, in Paris, France, by a thousand officers and men of the American Expeditionary Forces (A. E. F.), and it was chartered on September 16, 1919, by the United States Congress.

    THE AMERICAN LEGION PREAMBLE
    "For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes:
    To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
    to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a 100-percent Americanism;
    to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars;
    to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
    to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
    to make right the master of might;
    to promote peace and good will on earth;
    to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
    to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness."

    I will disagree most with what MTG says, or how she says it. I think she's hitting a group she wants to. Being a whakadoodle is faking you're handcuffed. Or marrying your brother.

    I have, two or three times. This is the trap. Unless I answer exactly how you want me to, it's not an answer. Ergo, I quit.

  14. by Donna on July 20, 2022 3:27 pm
    THE AMERICAN LEGION PREAMBLE is fine. I agree with it.

    "I have, two or three times. This is the trap. Unless I answer exactly how you want me to, it's not an answer. Ergo, I quit". - olde dud

    LOL. Okay.

    "...to foster and perpetuate a 100-percent Americanism"

    That sounds like anti-immigration talk, although I am not sure. Does that mean no pizza parlors, no taco stands and no Chinese restaurants?

    When I asked Hts a couple of months ago to give me an example of something AOC has said that is on par with the kind of absurdity we almost hear daily from Ms. Greene, I was asking for something along the line of these gems:

    Greene endorsed the conspiracy theory that the Sandy Hook school shooting was staged. In June 2018, Greene agreed with a Facebook commenter who claimed that “none of the school shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them,” including the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Parents of the Sandy Hook victims have denounced Greene.

    Greene endorsed a deranged conspiracy theory about Democrats and satanic child murder. On Facebook in February 2018, Greene endorsed a conspiracy theory -- known as “Frazzledrip” -- that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was videotaped murdering a child during a satanic ritual and she then ordered a hit on a police officer who had seen the video to cover it up.

    Greene on Facebook in 2018: Parkland school shooting was a false flag planned event. Greene (R-GA) agreed with a June 2018 Facebook comment that the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, was actually a “false flag” planned event. She agreed with a separate 2018 Facebook commenter who claimed that “none of the school shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them,” including at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Parkland survivors and families of the victims have heavily criticized Greene.

    Greene in 2019 suggested Ruth Bader Ginsburg was replaced with a body double. During a February 2019 appearance on a streaming program, Greene said that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg -- who died in September 2020 -- didn't really make a public appearance, implying she was replaced by a body double.

    Greene falsely claimed that there’s no evidence a plane crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11. In a 2018 video, Greene discussed the September 11 attacks and falsely said that there was “the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon. It's odd there's never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.” The claim that there was “never any evidence” of a plane hitting the Pentagon is a refrain of 9/11 conspiracy theories. (In reality, video and photographic evidence show a plane hit the Pentagon.) After she was heavily criticized, Greene tweeted that she was supposedly “being attacked for my opposition to open borders and globalist neocon nation building wars” and said: “Some people claimed a missile hit the Pentagon. I now know that is not correct. The problem is our government lies to us so much to protect the Deep State, it's hard sometimes to know what is real and what is not.”

    Greene pushed conspiracy theory about the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Jim Galloway wrote that in a 2017 video, “Greene mused about the possibility that the Las Vegas massacre was a massive conspiracy intended to help pass gun control measures. … Five months later, on Facebook, Greene passed along rumors of an FBI cover-up in its investigation of the Las Vegas massacre. Federal and local authorities would eventually conclude that Paddock did indeed act alone, a verdict that Greene says she now accepts.”

    Greene penned a conspiracy theory that the deadly 2018 Camp Fire in California was started by a space laser beam run by nefarious entities, including “Rothschild Inc.” Greene wrote a November 2018 Facebook post in which she speculated that, among others, a senior official at “Rothschild Inc, international investment banking firm,” was somehow involved in the 2018 Camp Fire and suggested the fire was caused by a beam from “space solar generators.” Jewish groups have criticized Greene for the anti-Semitism in her conspiracy theory.

    You get the idea.

    Donna,

    And, this hits on what OD just posted: And one thing I have learned. Conservatives discuss. Liberals hate.

    At one time, you came across to me as a thoughtful person who reasons. Your opinions had always been extreme but presented carefully.

    But, lately? And, this issue is a perfect illustration, you've become pure emotion and subjectivity.

    I pointed out that AOC recently displayed a loathsome ignorance of the most basic knowledge of our Constitution and proved that she doesn't know that, in the US, there are three, separate, co-equal branches of government. This is something that, in our day, you needed to know to make it past 8th grade. Heck! I'll bet even Jethro Bodene knows it!

    Then, just Tuesday, she showed up at that sham demonstration at the Capitol and feigned being arrested and handcuffed, then took to social media to lie about it. Without a doubt, she's a fake, a phony and a fraud...

    ...and, it seems, you're cool with that!

    If anything, MTG, whom I've regularly denounced, is sane and insightful compared to that ignorant, lying demagogue.

    Hts, if you believe that Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Bonnie Watson Coleman (N.J.), Marie Newman (Ill.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Mark Takano (Calif.), Kaiali’i Kahele (Hawaii) and Cori Bush's (Mo.) call for restricting the Supreme Court’s appellate jurisdiction in the areas of abortion, marriage equality, non-procreative intimacy, and contraception rises to the level of even one of MTG's absurdities I listed, you're free to make yourself look foolish. In fact I encourage you to continue making yourself look like a fool.

    But what you aren't understanding -- and I didn't understand it either until I did more reading on their proposal -- is that they're proposing to restrict the Supreme Court's jurisdiction on those issues through Congress taking legislative action to codify each of those rights they want to preserve.

    So if you still think that proposal is just as absurd as MTG penning a conspiracy theory that the deadly 2018 Camp Fire in California was started by a space laser beam run by nefarious entities, including Rothschild Inc., have at it.

    What the...!!!!!?

    What I said is that AOC made a statement that she could only have made if she's ignert of the fact that the judiciary is a branch of government separate from the legislature...and equal to it.

    And that in our day you couldn't make it through 8th grade Social Studies being that uninformed.

    Donna, you're getting very po-ish.

    I have never defended MTG and I've often criticized her but I suspect she knows that we have three branches of government.

    AOC is ignorant and uninformed and based on her silly handcuff charade the other day, a fake, a phony and a fraud.

    And, not only are you cool with that, you're defending her.

    There's good and abundant reason to conclude that antiSwampers have integrity and you Blue Ultra-MAGAs don't.

    I'm not at all surprised that you didn't comprehend anything I said in my previous post.

    I am dense. Please break it down for me.
