I know Curt pitches a hissy every time I observe how closely Joe Biden resembles my dad when dad was on his dementia journey.

But, I've noticed that Joe walks like an old man with dementia.

Now this...

President Biden took a tumble off his bike as he took a ride near his Rehoboth Beach, Del. vacation home Saturday.

Secret Service agents swarmed the 79-year-old commander in chief and helped him get upright.

“I’m good,” Biden said, telling pool reporters that he had had trouble taking his biking shoes out of the pedals as he tried to stop and chat with well-wishers eager to meet his dog Commander.

The man should not be President.

    Reports say Biden was wearing biking shoes. I refuse to wear them. Biking shoes lock onto the pedals. To remove them you have to half twist your foot. It's an unnatural motion. Biden was slowed down by a crowd of well-wishers. Being locked to the pedals caused the fall.

    I use "toe baskets". I just step back out of them.

    They both make pedaling more efficient. You have force as your foot goes down and pulling force up.

    Without them to keep your foot in place you have to put a slight pressure on the upstroke pedal which is inefficient of course.

    And the gas mileage is great!

    Why do you care about "efficiency" when the whole point is to get a workout? That would be like connecting an electric winch to your barbells.

    Before the weather got unbearably hot here in Tucson, I went on a few 15-mile bike rides without the use of a pedal contraption.

    In the last few months I've covered more ground on foot and bicycling than I have driving. Sometimes biking is to get a workout, but it's also to get from point A to point B.

    Here in Ashland, there are a lot of hills as we are nestled between mountain ranges. So it's nice to be able to pedal efficiently and to have variable gear shifting.

    If it's for a practical reason, sure. But I'm guessing that also you use those foot cages when your intention is to get a workout. Am I right?

    It's all good though. No big deal.

    They are on the pedals at all times. So, yes, I use them whenever I ride regardless of the purpose.

    I finally saw this. For those of you making excuses, you should have seen it first. It makes you look stoopid. Like trailer trash, meth head, getting your sister(s) pregnant at 12, with tires on your single wide stoopid.

    He stopped and forgot to put his feet down.... Seriously? My six year old granddaughter knows better... as does my 4 year old nephew...
