I doubt a Supreme Court clerk leaked Alito's opinion. Clerks are ambitious, they want to be judges, they're probably not going to risk their career just to make a statement.

I doubt a liberal leaked the opinion. It would have been better to wait until June, when it'll have a bigger impact on the November election. What does leaking an opinion in May get you?

It was probably a conservative. Alito wrote the draft back in February. Over the last couple of months, the other conservative judges have suggested changes, trying to make it more mainstream. The most extreme members -- Alito and Thomas -- probably didn't like that.

Who had access to the document? All nine justices, maybe some clerks.

Do we know any justices who discuss cases with their spouses?

Do we know any justices who are married to a Jan. 6 extremist?

Who had access? Who had motive? Who thinks they're above the law?

"Mark Rasch, a former Justice Department computer crimes prosecutor, said that in addition to those steps, the marshal can also seek to interview the roughly 70 people in the court who had access to the draft, written by Justice Samuel Alito. “That’s a lot to work with,” he said."
