Rules of the Post
There may be questions about why I often refer to myself on SS these days as pb but post as HatetheSwamp.
During my more than a decade on the old forum, I posted as pb. However, from time to time, when I was particularly amused by hate speech hurled at pb, I'd adopt that insult as my SS moniker.
One of faves my from the past, was "doofus." There were many. Mostly recently was "Rube," which I've always believed is an antisemitic slur based on the name of the oldest son of the biblical character Israel (Jacob), Reuben.
When Curt ended the old forum, I was the first old-timer to attempt to register here. I tried "pb" as my name and it wouldn't take. So, I tried Rube. That didn't work either. I chatted with Curt briefly. Bottom line: I couldn't get any previous moniker to take. So, in frustration and exhaustion, I threw in "HatetheSwamp." It took.
As I said to Donna recently, in real life, many people call me pb and, in my heart, I'll always be pb here.
