The hands of one man are tied behind his back with a piece of white cloth. Another man lies alone, tangled up in a bicycle by a grassy bank. A third man lies in the middle of the road, near the charred remains of a burned-out car.

The shocking images of the carnage in Bucha were captured by Agence France-Presse on Saturday, the same day Ukraine declared the town liberated from Russian troops. Accounts of alleged Russian atrocities are emerging as its forces retreat from areas near Kyiv following a failed bid to encircle the capital.

pb said from the beginning, due to his defensive, reactionary, lethargic, lukewarm response of Joe Biden to Russia's threat, every death and all Ukrainian suffering is on the hands of our very own "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" in the White House.

The media I followed over the weekend was screaming bloody murder over the fact that little to no of the weaponry Joe promised Ukraine has arrived.

Our President is far worse than a waste of space!

“Since the Russian invasion began on Feb. 24, U.S. cargo planes have unloaded hundreds of anti-aircraft Stingers, thousands of anti-tank weapons, millions of rounds of ammunition and other gear destined for Ukraine’s armed forces, according to the White House. The weapons deliveries to Eastern Europe came as President Joe Biden recently approved more than $1 billion of military assistance for Ukraine in less than a week.”

"Under recent decisions, the United States will deliver about 4,600 Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, the White House says. That would account for more than half of the 8,885 Javelins the Defense Department bought in the past 10 years, said Schaus."

Image shows Ukrainian service members unpack Javelin anti-tank missiles, delivered as part of the U.S. military support package for Ukraine, at the Boryspil International Airport outside Kyiv on Feb. 10. Thanks to Valentyn Ogirenko / Reuters file

Of course, the word of people in Ukraine mean nothing.

Even your quotes suggest what we plan to deliver. The Doddering Old Fool is running a Putin-fearing war effort.

    He's a disgrace!

We have been and we are supplying military aid, humanitarian aid, and monetary aid to Ukraine and we have plans to continue to do so.

It's clear that Hts isn't interested in having a real conversation.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on April 4, 2022 11:41 am

I would love to have a serious conversation but, honestly, at this point, as far as I can tell, youz are getting whatever information you're getting from flawed sources.

Everything I'm seeing and hearing and reading suggests to me that very little of the military aid the US has authorized has arrived.

From the time I spend watching MSNBC, I'm concluding that your SwampMedia has become to the Biden administration what Pravda was to the Stalin regime.

Retired US troops who've traveled to Ukraine to fight say they're not seeing the support they've been counting on.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are some areas that haven't received equipment yet, like in the Donbas region that's heavily occupied by Russia. But yoy, Hts, make it sound like nothing has arrived anywhere, which is obviously not the case.

Btw, Sheri and I have been almost exclusively watching CNN's coverage.

Good for you on CNN. I still advocate some channel hopping.

    BTW how's po's back?

  8. by Donna on April 4, 2022 5:33 pm
Sheri's back is a bit better today - thank you for asking. But not so good over the last week.

How has your back been? Is that pain killer you were taking still giving you some relief?

  9. by HatetheSwamp on April 5, 2022 3:51 am

My back is about the same. We end our winter sojourn this Friday. I think I'm going to ask my doctor about physical therapy.

I use the pain reliever sparingly. It makes me so drowsy that I can barely stay awake.

So for me, there's some really interesting things going on with this for me. My daughter in law is Russian (US Citizen now, and conservative). That said, she has lost Ukrainian friends over this (not dead, just because she's Russian). The information she gets from her family in Russia is interesting. It kind of reminds me of "king" George putting out that the "rebels" had rifles that could shoot two bullets at a time and that's why so many british were dying.

All that said. What you have there is the political and military arm of one country trained by the Russians. The other side is the Russians. Look for a lot of grains of salt when reading both sides, although I would tend to agree with the Ukrainians more. Dead people shot in the head. Two reasons. 1. The Russians did it because they were "terrorists" and the spetsnaz caught up with them. OR 2. They were working for the Russians and the Ukrainians shot them. I'd believe either story.
I am happy to see that some rag tag "army" that no one expected to survive 4 days has lasted this long. I think they're well worth giving arms to. The Russians have proved themselves incompetent in actually fighting wars, especially ones with rules.

Interesting--but not surprising--that your daughter-in-law has lost Ukrainian friends over the war. I know that the first casualty of war is truth, but the facts seem to come from the Ukrainian side and ridiculous lies are coming from Russia.
