"Judge Jackson is an extraordinary person with an extraordinary American story. We both love this country, but we disagree on judicial philosophy and I am sadly unable to vote for this confirmation," Sasse said in a statement.
"Judge Jackson has impeccable credentials and a deep knowledge of the law, but at every turn this week she not only refused to claim originalism as her judicial philosophy, she refused to claim any judicial philosophy at all," he added.
Sasse is one of about a half dozen GOPs pb thought might vote to confirm Judge Jackson.
The fact that he won't says tons!
Sasse is both open minded and fair-minded.
Ketanji Brown jackson is going to be confirmed, even if it requires a vote from Kammy to break the tie.
But, she didn't distinguish herself in the hearings. She seems like a very nice person, no doubt. But, she played Dodge Ball throughout the hearings...to so great an extent that GOPs who would have been willing to vote for her, won't.
Were pb a Senator, would he vote to confirm? For pb, it's a close yes. True, she claims to be so careful a thinker that she no longer knows what a woman is. I hope that that's a lie. If it's not, in practical terms, she's an idiot.
So, I hope she's a liar. She's Joe's pick. She doesn't appear to be corrupt. So, pb would vote for her, blowing chow, like he did when he voted for Trump.
