ELIZABETH FORCES PROCTOR TO CONFESS.
Elizabeths cognitive dissonance is not helping her here because either way she dies, and the other ways are that proctor lives or proctor dies.
ElIZABETH MAKES PROCTOR HAVE HIS OWN DECISION.
Even though Elizabeth can somehow make proctor save himself she will die herself. After another three months the baby will be born and their will be nothing stopping Hathorne from hanging Elizabeth too.
Elizabeth forces Proctor to not confess.

Proctor Lives and he lives happily with his three kids.
Hathorne and the now have a reason to keep on going with the hangings because they get the proof of one the most important people in the village.
proctor sais no and does not confess
proctor sais yes and confesses.
Proctor Dies, so does Rebecca and the rest of the convicted.

Elizabeth dies after three months and that is why he is alone with the three kids.
Rebecca will die as well as Elizabeth and the others who do not confess.
proctor is not going to live and Elizabeth is strong enough to allow him to do this.
Proctor gets to live.
Elizabeth dies 3 months later and nobody will remember the story these trials.

She in turn now has to live as a widow and her three kids will" not be able to walk like men on the Earth".
many of the people that went before him and that will die after him will not be able to live because his confession will prove Hathorne and the court.

The rest of her friends now die and she is left alone until she too dies after her baby is born.
Proctor and Elizabeth somehow manage to live with themselves after everything that has happened.

Elizabeth was cold, emotionless, and a detached woman. After her 3 months of thinking on her decisions of feelling left out and not loved, She figured it out. The change was a long time coming but she had to realize it to allow big decisions in her life to occur.
ELizabeth must realize that everybody will die no matter what decision is chosen.
Elizabeth's decision has nothing to do with proctors decision after his confession is written. So nothing can be said about what Proctor does.

Her decisions really only decide the fate of one life. That one life is proctor's.
